For a movie that opened average at best, "Yes Man" has held up surprisingly well. It wouldn't be a hit for Carrey but it's no longer the bust it was looking it would be.

What I don't understand is how did BOLT cost 150 million dollars to make?

How did Benjamin Button? I'm guessing actor fees and special effects which makes it make a little sense. But BOLT? Who the hell got the huge payday for that film?

CGI films are expensive, and Disney spares no expense. The 3-D didn't help either. Plus, I'm sure Travolta and Cyrus aren't cheap.

That was all the special effects.

Looks like word of mouth killed The Spirit off

I've heard that Lionsgate is hoping that My Bloody Valentine 3D is a hit of some sorts, since they haven't been doing too well Box Office wise.

Does anything else come out when Kevin James fat mall cop movie come out? I'm worried that'll be #1... I've seen that thing advertised all over the place.

The BIG movie will be #1 that weekend.

No. Traditionally Hollywood takes the first weekend of the year off.

Defiance and Good did open in limited release to qualify for the Oscars.

Looking at BOM though, this appears to be the first time in 5 years that they've done that.

I don't know. Silly PG comedy... has Sandler behind it. I can really see it being #1.

You made we worried that they remade Big for a second until I figured out what you were talking about.

Yeah, but what if it was a movie with the premise of "Big", but only with someone playing Biggie?

Some 12 year old boy goes to a coin operated fortune teller/wishing machine, and then wakes up the next morning with bullet holes in his chest?
