YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 US Airways Plane has crashed into the Hudson River. They are showing the plane on the news right now. The plane seems to be intact in the river but the current temperature in NYC is 20 degrees. They are speculating that the plane hit a flock of geese. Injuries and fatalities are unknown.
bob_barron Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 It's on the local news here. Some guy kept saying that he called 9-11. No, dumbass, you called 9-1-1.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN?
TheFranchise Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 They are speculating that the plane hit a flock of geese. Injuries and fatalities are unknown. There are a few telling signs. Those poor birds..
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 Someone on sternfannetwork.com claimed that they called US Airways to ask if they could book a plane to the Hudson River. I felt like an asshole for laughing. The pilot did a great job of landing the plane into the river and keeping it entact.
2GOLD Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Thankfully everyone on board the plane lived so that is good news. However, the families of the birds should be preparing a strong lawsuit.

YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 You should call the number. And ask for a one way ticket to the Hudson and how much it cost as well.
2GOLD Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 I think it would be better if it said "Diverted to: Hudson River floor"
YourKock'sReallyGreat Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 I think it would be better if it said "Diverted to: Hudson River floor" They were able to get a Tugboat with a cable to drag it out of the river.

TV footage showed dozens of them on the wings of the plane as it floated on the freezing cold river. They were later all rescued. One passenger said he thought the plane had dropped about 100ft and he had stood in about 5ft of water after the crash.
Anakin Flair Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Apparently the pilot made two walk-throughs before being the last one out.
