BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2009 The Battle of Los Angeles is the name given by contemporary news agencies to a sighting of one or more unidentified flying objects which took place from late February 24 to early February 25, 1942 in which eyewitness reports of an unknown object or objects over Los Angeles, California, triggered a massive anti-aircraft artillery barrage. The Los Angeles incident occurred less than three months after America's entry into World War II as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2009 The Cash Landrum UFO incident In December 1980, Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and her grandson Colby Landrum, were driving along a road in Huffman, Texas when they saw a bright light in the sky. Driving a little more along the road, they came across a large diamond shaped UFO hovering over the road belching fire out of the bottom. Since the flames were blocking the road, they had to stop the car about 65 yards away from the craft and the three of them got out. Vickie and Colby stayed by the car, whereas Betty went on to get a closer look. She spent a long time gazing at it and her skin began to burn because of the heat from the flames. She returned to the car when the object began to rise and a large number of unmarked black helicopters chased after the UFO

BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2009 The Dyatlov Pass Incident On February 2nd, 1959, during the cold winter on Kholat Syakhl ("Mountain of the Dead") in Russia, nine intrepid to tackle the mountain. On February 26th, the first of their very dead bodies turned up. But it was the discovery of the campgrounds that added the mystery. The ski hikers' tent was shredded. The skiers were scattered around the grounds wearing either very sparse clothing or just their underwear. Three of them were found with crushed ribs and fractured skulls, but no visible defense marks or other signs of a struggle....and one of the bodies was missing a tongue. Soviet investigators determined only that "a compelling unknown force" had caused the deaths After the funerals, relatives of the deceased claimed that the skin of the victims had a strange orange tan and were completely grey haired. A former investigating officer said, in a private interview, that his dosimeter had shown a high radiation level on Kholat Syakhl, and that this was the reason for the radiation found on the bodies. However, the source of the contamination was not found. More info
BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2009 The "Boy in the Box" is the name given to an unidentified murder victim, approximately 4 to 6 years old, whose naked, battered body was found in a cardboard box in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 25, 1957. He is also commonly called "America's Unknown Child". The body was found discarded in a cardboard box that once contained a baby's bassinet from J.C. Penney. The body was found wrapped in a plaid blanket, and was discovered by a young man who claimed that he was checking muskrat traps. The case engendered massive media attention in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley, with pictures of the boy even being placed in every gas bill in Philadelphia. However, despite the publicity at the time of the body's discovery and sporadic re-interest throughout the years, the case remains unsolved to this day, and the boy's identity is still unknown. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Virgin Mary appears on cloth of a poor mexican farmer According to official Catholic accounts of the Guadalupan apparitions, during a walk from his home village to Mexico City early on the morning of December 9, 1531, Juan Diego saw a vision of a young girl of fifteen to sixteen, surrounded by light. This event occurred on the slopes of the Hill of Tepeyac. Speaking in the local language of Nahuatl, the Lady asked for a church to be built at that site in her honor. From her words, Juan Diego recognised her as the Virgin Mary. When he told his story to the Spanish bishop, Fray Juan de Zumárraga, the bishop asked him to return and ask the lady for a miraculous sign to prove her claim. The Virgin then asked Juan Diego to gather some flowers from the top of Tepeyac Hill, even though it was winter when no flowers bloomed. He found there Castilian roses (which were of the Bishop's native home, but not indigenous to Tepeyac). He gathered them, and the Virgin herself re-arranged them in his tilma, or peasant cloak. When Juan Diego presented the roses to Zumárraga, the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe miraculously appeared imprinted on the cloth of Diego's tilma. The Cloth still exists in Mexico. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 3 Fatima children see the Virgin Mary...she promises them to gather a crowd for a miracle: On 13 October 1917, an estimated crowd of 70,000 people in the fields near Fatima, Portugal watched the rain stop, the clouds part, and the sun (still a glowing disc, but now visible to the naked eye) radiate colors, shimmer and spin, and dance around the sky in a zig-zag pattern for about 10 minutes. At last, the sun appeared to fall straight toward the crowd, frightening all; but then the sun returned to its normal place and appearance. When it was all over, the people were stunned. Witnesses also found that the muddy ground all around them and their rain-soaked clothes had dried up .
BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 On June 7-9 of 1986 a small group of unknown people finished months worth of work as they busted into a L.A. bank from a tunnel they had dug out from underneath the sewers. The men had used fake IDs to purchase ATVs, drills etc and got away with 2.5 million dollars. They were robbing their 2nd bank with one more tunnel set to go into banks but were caught in mid robbery of the 2nd bank and escaped. The statue of limitations has expired on the crime, and no suspects were ever ID'd much less caught. For the first job, they planned it on Memorial Day weekend so they would have one more day to break into more safe deposit boxes. But they had trouble drilling up with the core bit so they had to cut their way through all that concrete by hand when they were right under the vault. That took an extra week. Amazing! Can you imagine just sitting there for hours and hours sawing away in some man-made tunnel? Here are the dimensions and some specifics of the two tunnels they used: * First tunnel: trapezoid 20 x 25 foot hole in bottom of vault, then a hollow chamber 4 feet across and 5.5 feet high immediately below vault, then a narrow passageway 3 feet high and wide leading to a chamber slightly larger than the first, then another 3 foot hole slanted sharply downward for 7 to 8 feet, ending in another large chamber with a 12 foot ceiling. That's where they tapped into the underground power line to run the power tools, the top of that large chamber. Next was another narrow passageway sloping gently downhill until it levels out and becomes much higher. Every 20 feet or so, shelved niches were formed into the walls to place lanterns until the power source could be tapped. It ended at a hole cut into the side of a concrete pipe, 4.5 feet in diameter, a pipe that was part of the network of storm sewers. The tunnel was 100 feet long * Second tunnel: shorter than the first, 70 feet. Larger and more sophisticated, 4 feet wide in most areas and at least 5.5 feet high throughout. This one had 2x4s used for shoring in some areas, and electric lights strung along the ceiling, powered by gas generator. They found superior ways to secure the boring machine and core bit steady to cut a perfectly round 18 inch hole. A major difference was at the beginning of the tunnel. The opening to the storm sewer was only 18 inches, drilled through 10 inch thick reinforced concrete. That forced improvisation, namely wheelbarrows that had to be cut into sections and then bolted back together with metal straps. The estimate in the first tunnel was it took approximately 1500 wheelbarrow trips. A 2 foot mud flow was found downstream from the tunnel. As for the third tunnel that they had completed but never got the chance to break into, what happened was...when the cops found it, see they were digging under a real busy street in Los Angeles. So they had to have engineers check out and see if it was possible for somebody driving to fall through the asphalt and into the tunnel. So there was a huge traffic jam and people going in and out of the sewers. Then the news got a hold of it and they couldn't keep it a secret. Another thing mentioned is that they had no place to hide a stakeout team in the sewers even if they kept it a secret. I know what you mean when you talk about how frustrated they were after all that work. The first one was a success but they were really amateurs when it came to robbing banks. They didn't bring proper tools to bust into the safety deposit boxes and couldn't get them all. That's something the FBI noticed right away. Amazing tunnelers but amateur robbers. For the second and third tunnels though, they brought much better box-busting tools with them. If only they had purposely set off the alarms a week before. They would've cleaned out both banks. I wish they would've hahaha. In the second robbery, they did get $98,000 though. They had to haul ass outta there obviously. A tad bit more info What foiled this crew was lack of knowledge regarding different practices than standard by Bank of America, specifically not using the time lock on the vault door. At the end of each business day the manager typically sets the time lock to make the vault inaccessible until the morning of the next business day. Once the time lock was set the vault couldn't be opened even in a dire emergency, other than by drilling out the vault door. That aspect acted as a comfort zone to robbers tunneling from below. Even if they tripped alarms or caused other noises they knew the vault likely would not be suspected as a source since it was time locked shut. Also no one could disturb them inside the vault, as long as they were in there during off hours, i.e. a weekend. The first bank caper was at First Interstate Bank in Hollywood. They followed the typical practice regarding time locking the vault. That's why the bank manager could only listen to the suspicious noises and hold the phone to the vault door for the person at central security to hear. But the tunnel gang was pathetically unaware that their second target, a Bank of America at the corner of Pico and La Cienega, did not follow the same procedure. Bank of America was skeptical of the time lock approach so they stayed away from it in favor of a double combination approach with two employees knowing separate sections of a vault combination. That allowed after-hours access in case of emergency. So when the sewer rats were in that Bank of America vault in August 1987 they probably weren't overly concerned until they heard the tumblers moving and realized the vault was about to spring open. At that point they had to scram, and left behind many items including plenty of cash on the counters of the vault. The other completed tunnel -- never used -- was beneath a savings and loan in Beverly Hills. That savings and loan was open on Saturday. So the plan no doubt was to clean out the Bank of America on Friday night and throughout Saturday, and then hit the savings and loan on Saturday night and into Sunday. On Monday morning both capers would have been discovered virtually simultaneously and the robbers become world famous, the biggest bank robberies in history with a take of $10 to $25 million. http://books.google.com/books?id=OzTKhqhGC...5&ct=result Here's a good extensive read on the case

BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Cumbrian Spaceman A man takes his family to an isolated nature resort and finds an unexpected visitor in one of the photos...he's later visted by some Men in Black type of agents That same year, in Woomera, Australia, England began launching its new "Blue Streak Rockets." During one of the launches, a strange event occurred. One of the technicians, while following launch preparations on a monitor, noticed two tall men in white spacesuits close to the launch tower. The countdown was immediately stopped and security searched the entire area but the two mystery figures were never found. The Australian press, however, had recently published Jim Templeton's photo of "The Cumbrian Spaceman," the Australian technician had seen it, recognized a dramatic similarity and commented that "he looks like the boys I saw on the monitor." Interestingly, the Blue Streak Rockets being launched in Australia, where the two mystery spacemen were seen, were originally manufactured at a facility on Carlisle-Newcastle road back in England -- in the immediate neighborhood of the Burgh Marsh where Jim Templeton had first unknowingly photographed "The Cumbrian Spaceman." BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 The Devil’s Footprints was the name given to a peculiar phenomenon that occurred in Devon, England on 8 February 1855. After a light snowfall, during the night, a series of hoof-like marks appeared in the snow. These footprints, measuring 1.5 to 2.5 inches wide and eight inches apart, continued throughout the countryside for a total of over 100 miles, and, although veering at various points, for the greater part of their course followed straight lines. Houses, rivers, haystacks and other obstacles were travelled straight over, and footprints appeared on the tops of snow-covered roofs and high walls which lay in the footprints’ path, as well as leading up to and exiting various drain pipes of as small as a four inch diameter. Reports of similar anomalous, obstacle-unheeded footprints exist from other parts of the world, although none is of such a scale as that of the case of the Devil’s Footprints. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Tara Calico On September 20, 1988 Tara left her home at about 9:30 in the morning to go on her customary bike ride. She told her mother, Patty Doel, to come and get her if she wasn't home by noon. Patty went searching for Tara along her usual bike route but could not find her and contacted the police. Part of her Sony Walkman and a Boston cassette tape were discovered along the route and Patty believed that Tara may have left these items in an attempt to mark her trail. Several people saw Tara riding her bicycle, which has also never been found. No one witnessed her presumed abduction, although several witnesses did observe a 1953 or 1954 Ford pickup following her, but it is not known if this vehicle was connected to her disappearance. All efforts to locate the pickup have failed. On June 15, 1989, a Polaroid photo of an unidentified young girl and boy, both bound and gagged, was found in the parking lot of a convenience store in Port St. Joe, Florida. It was theorized that the girl in the photo was Tara. Her mother believed the girl in the photo was indeed her daughter due in part to what appeared to be a scar on the girl's leg similar to one Tara received in a car accident. However, the FBI was unable to conclusively prove that it was Tara in the photograph. Local Serial Killer David Parker Ray was a suspect as he drove a similar vehicle and lived in the area. He is serving 223 years for murder and sexual torture and has never confessed to being involved. Twenty years after her disappearance, Rene Rivera, sheriff of Valencia County announced that he knew what happened to Tara Calico. According to Rivera, boys who knew her from school drove up behind her in a truck and some form of accident followed. Tara later died and those responsible covered up the crime. Rivera states he knows the names of those involved, but that, without a body, he cannot make a case. He has not released whatever evidence has led him to this conclusion. No arrests have been made, and the case remains open If the boys did run her over or whatever, then who isthe girl in the picture???

BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Cindy James suffered 7 years of harassment an attacks from an unknown assailant, including being choked having her phone lines cut, house set on fire and stabbed. After several attacks the police start to believe she commited all the acts herself. Finally she is found dead, bound behind her back, nylon around her neck and autopsy evidence showed she died of a drug overdose. The Police ruled it a suicide Other notes: 1. The tennants that lived in the basement suite, one day, called the police after hearing suspicious noises upstairs after Cindy had left for work. Police investigated but didn't see anything amiss. 2. Cindy's next door neighbor remembered seeing an unfamiliar man (not Cindy's ex-husband, or any of the police) pounding on Cindy's back door. Another time she remembered him standing on her front porch. 3. Another neighbor who lived behind Cindy (their back yards were connected) surprised a stranger in his back yard one night staring at Cindy's house. The man ran off, breaking the hinge on the gate fence in the process before the owner could get a look at his face. These could be just coincidences or they might have been something more. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Tommy Burkett: Murder or Suicide? Tommy Burkett had been recieving threats at school then one day.... Tommy's parents came home from a function and found Tommy's lifeless body He had a bloodied right ear , and scratches on his chest and neck visible above the disheveled collar of his favorite sweater. His body was surrounded by towels and such, stuffed around him to prop him up. It became obvious to the Burketts that Tommy's body had been positioned for them to see as soon as they entered his room. After further examination, Thomas Burkett also noticed that his son's lower jaw was resting on his chest, and appeared to be broken. Tommy's hands were almost folded on his lap, and on top of his hands rested a .357 magnum revolver. Beth George remembered looking down at the gun and being able to read the numbers on the end of the cartridges. She realized that the cylinder of the revolver was not fully latched, thus making it impossible to fire. The police almost instantly told his parents it was a suicide, and the FBI refused to consider the murder option. His parents had to have a 2nd autopsy done after they felt the state's version was a hack job. A forged note was found that said, "please cremate me." Neighbors saw strange men in Tommy's car outside his home Tommy's clothes vanished from police custody and never were returned to his parents. Police made no effort to determine who's blood (not Tommy's) was on the wallsof other rooms of Tommy Burkett's home. Tommy had been doing undercover work for the Drug Enforcement Agency. The FBI told Tommy's parents and they have a 1800 page secret report that noone can see. Interestingly, the bullet thought to have caused his wound was not only embedded in the wallboard in FRONT of Tommy's body, out of position for the proposed scenario, but was left in place by the police and FBI. No ballistics tests were ever performed on this bullet. Additionally, there was no gunpowder residue in Tommy's mouth, the supposed entry location for the lethal bullet. One neighbor volunteered as to how she had called 911 that afternoon, after hearing gunshots, and reported their origin as the Burkett address. Subsequent searches of the 911 tapes revealed not only the neighbor's call, but that Tommy Burkett himself had called 911 TWICE that afternoon from his home. NO emergency vehicles OR police officers responded to any of those calls that day. The Burketts also discovered that none of the neighbors had been interviewed by the local police. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Victorio Peak Treasure: http://www.theoutlaws.com/gold7.htm This is a long twisted tale that you maybe best served just reading the website for but: Doc and Babe Noss were camping in the late 20's early 30's when Doc stumbled upon a shaft in a mountain. After getting some rope, he ascended down a trecherous path and squeezed his way into a room that was loaded with skeletons, jewels, diamonds, swords and thousands of gold bars. He and Babe put in a claim for the land and slowly started to take the gold and stuff out, but the pathway was tough and progress was slow. Plus Doc didn't even trust his wife , so he went out alone each night and buried the loot in the desert. Finally after months of work, Doc decided to hire someone to bomb the enterance and make getting the gold out easier. Doc and the bomb guy had a big fight over how much TNT to use, and the TNT "expert" ended up winning. He blew the enterance and caved in the shaft. Soon after he and Babe divorced. Doc tried unsuccessfully to dig his way back in. Meanwhile he went bankrupt and ended up having to sell some gold on the black market. During one of these deals, Doc was shot and killed, and so went all the treasure locations he buried. So Babe stepped in and tried to dig to the gold. Around this same time, the army got wind of the Gold supply and decided that it needed to claim Victorio Peak as part of its missle range. Babe and the army argued in court for years over the claim. Babe hire "spies" who told her the army was digging out the mountain, based on a hole that a soldier had found. After 15 years or so Babe was granted 2 weeks to work her claim that their was gold there. She found alot of mining poles the army put in, as well as Army supplies and even Soldier names written on the cave walls. But no gold. The lawsuits went on for many more years til 1989, when her family was granted permission to go back. By this point it was widely thought that the army had cleared the mountain of its riches 20+ years ago. And so far that has proven to be the case, however, some believe that the army's gold stash was different than the one Doc found, and that there were 7 total gold stashes on the mountain waiting to be unearthed. Cooper is the name attributed to a man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in the United States on November 24, 1971, received US$200,000[1] in ransom, and parachuted from the plane. The name he used to board the plane was Dan Cooper, but through a later press miscommunication, he became known as "D. B. Cooper". Despite hundreds of leads through the years, no conclusive evidence has ever surfaced regarding Cooper's true identity or whereabouts, and the bulk of the money has never been recovered. BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 Was Pope John Paul 1 murdered? While Albino Luciani (John Paul 1) proved to be an irritant to the Vatican higher powers in many ways, he made himself its absolute nemesis when he delved into the Vatican Bank's dealings, which dated back to the reign of his predecessor. The Vatican had 1.5 billion dollars unaccounted for that had been embezzled, and money wrapped up in Mafia matters among other things. He would have to be silenced before he could reveal Papal misdeeds to the Public... With his bright intelligence and naive fearlessness, John Paul I penetrated to the heart of this maze of corruption within weeks of his coronation. On the evening of September 28, 1978, he called Cardinal Villot, the leader of the powerful Curia, to his private study to discuss certain changes that the Pope proposed to make public the next day. [it has been reported that John Paul was also considering the release of the famous "Third Secret of Fatima," which was supposed to have been given to the public in 1960.] Among those whose "resignations" would be accepted by the Pontiff the following day were the head of the Vatican Bank, and several members of the Curia who were implicated in the activities of Sindona and P2, and Villot himself. Moreover, Villot was told that John Paul I would also announce plans for a meeting on October 24 with an American delegation to discuss a reconsideration of the Church's position on birth control. When Pope John Paul I retired to his bedroom on the evening of September 28, clutching the paperwork that would expose the Vatican's financial dealings with the Mafia and purge the Curia of those responsible, a number of very ruthless individuals had a great interest in seeing to it that he would never awaken to issue these directives. When the Pope's housekeeper knocked at his door at 4:30 a.m., she heard no response. Leaving a cup of coffee, she returned fifteen minutes later to find the Pope still not stirring. She entered the bed chamber and gasped when she saw the Pope propped up in bed, still holding papers from the night before, his face contorted in a grimace Cardinal Villot confirmed the Holy Father's death. The Pope's glasses, slippers, and will disappeared, "none of these items has ever been seen again." Speculation is that there may have been vomit on the slippers, which if examined would identify poison as the cause of death. Cardinal Villot (or an aide) telephoned the embalmers and a Vatican car was sent to fetch them. Incredibly, the car was at their door at 5:00 a.m.! What ensued in the following hour is still a mystery. It was not until 6:00 a.m. that Dr. Buzzonati (not Professor Fontana, the head of the Vatican medical service), arrived and confirmed the death, without drawing up a death certificate. Dr. Buzzonati attributed the death to acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). At about 6:30 a.m. Villot began to inform the cardinals, an hour and a half after the embalmers had arrived! Yallop notes that, for Cardinal Villot, the embalmers took precedence over the cardinals and the head of the Vatican medical service. Villot arranged for the embalming to be performed that evening, a procedure as unusual as it was illegal. Why the rush? It is also reported that during the embalming it was insisted that no blood was to be drained from the body, and neither were any of the organs to be removed. Yallop notes that "a small quantity of blood would of course have been more than sufficient for a forensic scientist to establish the presence of any poisonous substances." Although the Vatican claimed that its house physician had determined myocardial infarction as the cause of death, to this day no death certificate for Pope John Paul I has been made public
BruteSquad_BRODY 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 CLARKSBURG -- In a span of three days in October 2000, Stephanie Loar lost a sister and Marilyn Blalock lost her mother. Ironically, they both were named Mary Morris and lived in Houston. Tragically, they both were murdered. Mary McGinnis Morris, was 39. Mary Morris, was 48. The two shared similar looks. They were found three days apart, less than 25 miles from each other. Both had been murdered. Both were found in the front seat of their cars, in broad daylight, along well-traveled roads. Little is known about Morris' death. She, too, was found in her car, doused with an accelerant and burned. There was less evidence at that scene, Blalock said, although any break in either case could help the other. Was it a hit man screw up, a great coincidence or something else? No arrests have been made in either case.
