Guest T®ITEC Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Why is there a little angry face next to the thread now? Sheesh, guys! Stephen Root seems to be all over the damn place. I think Vicki Lewis disappeared or something... Meh.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 That Godforsaken angry face disturbs me. The old icon was so happy and inviting. We're scaring everybody away. We'll never win Best Thread of the Year again with this lousy SOB:
Guest T®ITEC Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I think it's ironic. It's like... "HEY! NEWSRADIO IS BACK! ...For like three months. A&E IS OF TEH DEVIL~" On that note, what the hell is the matter with A&E? I need my Magnum, P.I. fix.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Bring back the happy face. AND BRING BACK NEWSRADIO!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I was watching a "Night Court" episode like 5 years ago, and saw Root in there, too. You could probably make a "7 Degrees of Stephen Root" if you were so inclined.
Guest areacode212 Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 I think it's ironic. It's like... "HEY! NEWSRADIO IS BACK! ...For like three months. A&E IS OF TEH DEVIL~" On that note, what the hell is the matter with A&E? I need my Magnum, P.I. fix. Magnum, his mustache, TC, Higgins, and all those bikini-clad Hawaii chicks will be coming to DVD soon, so start saving up!! I'll restore the happy face.
Guest areacode212 Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 *bump* So, I'm watching "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" (the movie) over the weekend (mmm, Kristy Swanson), and who do I see? Stephen Root! As the principal of the school. That is all. Really?? I watched that sucky-ass movie again about a year ago, and I totally didn't catch him. Maybe because the DVD froze in the middle and I didn't get up to that part. Also, did you notice Ben Affleck as one of the basketball players (the guy who makes a face when he sees the vampire player)? As for Kristy, I was mega disappointed in her Playboy layout. What's a point of having a nude celebrity layout, when it looks nothing like her? I waited 10 years for this, Hef! Also, I'm glad I got over the "there is no Buffy but Kristy", which was part of the reason why I initially avoided the show. You could probably make a "7 Degrees of Stephen Root" if you were so inclined. OK, let's do it. Here's an easy one: Connect Stephen Root to "Diamond" Dallas Page (without cheating!)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Stephen Root -> Jennifer Aniston ("Office Space") Jennifer Aniston -> Courtney Cox ("Friends") Courtney Cox -> David Arquette ("Scream") David Arquette -> DDP ("Ready to Rumble") Didn't catch Ben Affleck, but I caught Paul Reubens as the one Vampire dude (long hair, gets arm ripped off). I actually wasn't 100% sure it was him, so I had to check the credits at the end to be certain.
Guest T®ITEC Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 I think it's ironic. ::dies:: I'm so glad that my brother's buying a PS2, so I can steal it and watch the greatness... of Magnum's mustache. I you AC.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 What was Phil Hartman's first ever appearance on TV? You guessed it- A voiceover on Magnum PI in 1984
Guest T®ITEC Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 AHHH EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED! DAMN IT BARRON!!!
DrVenkman PhD Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Did everyone go to that Sont TV website and vote for NewsRadio on DVD? I didn't have time to read all the older posts but I randomly clicked on page 12 and it seemed that it was mentioned.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Don't worry- we did. Since they took it off A&E maybe that's a sign it'll be on DVD. I know they won't load it up with extras but since everyone who was on NR seems to enjoy it- they could probably get the cast together and load that shit up. BTW- Did anyone buy the new KITH DVD? I just wanna know if it's any good
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 I've voted *numerous* times on the Sony site. As for actually getting it on DVD, I'd be perfectly happy w/ a bare-bones edition. Just having the original episodes (not syndicated versions) on DVD would make me extremely happy.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 Check out this website- http://www.misterasset.com/newsradio/s1c.html
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 Hmm, interesting. $10 for complete Season 1? I think I'll give it a shot.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 I've posted in the 'thread of the year 2002'. Yay. Do I get any free shit for doing this?
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 ::tapes "SPAZ" sign to UYI's back::
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Being victimised is great. This thread keeps my vote.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I really hope this comes out soon- I can't wait.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 It said "later this year", so I wouldn't expect them any time soon. They'll need time to put them together (unless they've already gotten a head start).
Guest areacode212 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 This is the greatest news in the history of DVDs. I mean, once we get NewsRadio on DVD...what else is there to hope for? We can all die happy now.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I hope they put some commentaries. None of the castmembers seem to be that busy. I also wouldn't mind some behind the scenes material or some TV ads from 1995. That'd be awesome NewsRadio has a cult following and those DVDs tend to do very well.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 You know what would rule? A bunch of Phil clips, like backstage stuff, outtakes, what-not.
Guest areacode212 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 I'm sure on one of the season sets, there will be some kind of big Phil Hartman memorial extra with the cast reminiscing & stuff. Well...we should all pat ourselves on the back for voting for this.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 A Phil Hartman tribute would be the icing on the cake. Well I know what I want for my birthday
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Well...we should all pat ourselves on the back for voting for this. Hells yeah. I know I voted at least (only?) 20 times.
