A big fight erupted right next to me, so long story short, a guy threw a beer on a guy for asking him to buy him a beer (he was underaged) and constantly bothering him, so the dude turned around and threw the beer on him. He got kicked out, so the underage kid took his beer and stood on the guy who got kicked out's seat right next to me and said "Now I have his seat" then rang the beer off his shirt into a cup and said "Now I have his beer" then fell off the chairs and got beer all over me... But the Angle/Taker match went off pretty well, but the end was a clusterfuck, to say the least. Taker's tap was so imperceptile live, and the 3 count was so weak, and the ref and the competitors looked confused, so they just lay there, so the ref started counting them out, then stopped, then shrugged, then waited for more refs. I think Taker tapped after the three count because he realized they fucked up, but it was messed up. They covered pretty well, but th ematch should have continued. The crowd was MAD, throwing trash and all that. Maybe it'll come off better on TV, but it was awful and looked like a mistake, although they covered for it well.

Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted July 3, 2002 Report Posted July 3, 2002 Isn't this the 1st time that Hulk Hogan has held a belt that was not a World Heavyweight Championship? 6-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion/WWE Undisputed Champion 6-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion ...but this is the first time that Hogan has a} held a tag team championship, and b} held a belt that was not a world heavyweight championship. I'd noticed that a while ago and wondered if he would end his career with that unique distinction of holding only World Heavyweight Championships, but I guess not.

That last part won't even be shown on TV. The only reason the Canadians showed up is because they are the only heels on the show.

I'm guessing it will be some sort of three way dance with Taker, Rock & Angle. If a rematch for the title doesn't occur before then, that is.

I'm going to have to say the latter, simply because I've gone numb to the former since I'm so use to seeing countless matches end that way. I know the conclusion of that Taker-Angle match was meant to protect both people, but GOD, what a fucking stupid ending.

Hogan vs. Lance Storm. lance would probably be thinking, "Why not just make me wrestle with a bundle of bricks strapped to my back?" I can see your point, but I still don't like this Canadian heel idea. Coming out to insult America like that is cheap way to get heel heat. And as it has been pointed out earlier, these guys won't be seen as heels in Canada. jester

Muy bien, AS. Show doesn't look too shabby. Vengeance is shaping up nicely, other than the steady descent of Y2J. Very depressing. Probably won't be able to watch it because of the holiday, but at least they're getting some direction.

While it's basically another Hart Foundation, at least they are finding a role for Storm and Christian. The Hogan/Edge win is the typical, Russo-eque "pointless tag title win". Neither guy needs the title (unless Hogan wants every belt on his way out or something). Kinda like when Rock and Undertaker beat Edge and Christian a few years back. And is it just me, or is this whole Edge/Jericho thing going to lead to Jericho joining Team Canada, they try to recruit Edge, he refuses, Hogan sticks up for him, etc. I'm not against Angle going face, but I wouldn't want to see it. However, with Jericho, Storm, Brock, Eddie, Benoit and possibly Triple H on the heel side, they may be trying to shake things up a bit. Booker T. and RVD, while getting/expecting the big push, aren't "mainstream stars" yet. Maybe they see with Rock leaving as soon as he returns, that Kurt is the next guy they can depend on to carry himself both in the ring and professionally outside of the ring. I agree that we could see a 3 way for the title at Vengeance, but I think it would be Undertaker pinning Angle to keep Rock's heat, or if it stays as UT vs. Rock, I can see Triple H (clad in NWO shirt) interfering, that way Rock's next absence can be writtne off to an NWO beatdown. They can't just say "Rocky's left to make more movies", because that would let the fans down. Triple H vs. Rock for the 98434 time may also let them down, but hey, WWE is doing this for THE FANS!

I think that Venis can be solid in the ring but he has just kept the same stupid gimmick for way too long and I don't know if he can come back from it. If they would have given him a full gimmick makeover when they dropped the porn star bit it might have worked but he is the same character with the same music just without the pornstar sketches. If there is any hope of salvaging him they need to take him back off of TV for a couple of months and come back with a new character.
