-Well, the Super Bowl was on last night, and the Colts won. The game itself was lackluster, IMO. The highlight of course, was Motherfucking Prince. After a series of shitty halftime shows, his Majesty shows the Stones and McCarthy how it's done. The second he dropped the mic and played guitar, I marked out bigtime.
The commercials were largely dissapointing, for the most part. The Futuristic Coke commercial was ass, and the commecial with Federline was suprisingly amusing, but still lame. The best one though, was Letterman with Oprah. Next to Prince, it was the highlight of the night, because no one saw coming.
-In other news, I took a midterm today, and I'm feeling alright about it. I hopefully did good, or at least passed. Now, off to do a bunch of essay papers...
-Season 2 of "Masters of Horror" is over, and it ended in a disappointing way. A shame that what could have been a good season finale was ruined by poor acting and a series of Japanese horror cliches.
-Joe Biden is the next to throw his hat in the Presidential race. The good news for him: He stands a better chance than Kucinich the Munchkin. The bad news: He sucks as a candidate, and stands no chance in hell.
-Well, Hillary announced she had presidential aspirations. I really don't think it's a good idea. Most people, Republican and Democrat, don't want her to run, though she does have a better chance of winning than Kucinich, but a wounded puppy has a better chance than him. Me, I'm getting behind Obama or Richardson.
-In better news, the remake of "The Hitcher" didn't exactly tear up the box office. It almost seems like people are finally starting to get tired of shitty remakes of horror classics, though that won't stop anytime soon. I hear "Friday the 13th" and (sigh) "The Birds" are the next planned remakes.
If you ask me, if you are going to remake a horror movie, remake one that nobody knows about, or was bad to begin with. For example, I like George Romero's "The Crazies", but I wouldn't mind a remake of it. Also, look at Tobe Hoopers take on the "Toolbox Murders", which was a remake of a shitty horror movie, and much better than the original. Hell, why not remake a movie like "Prom Night" or Zombie Creeping Flesh." Both are shitty horror movies that few people know about or remember, and those that do don't exactly have fond memories of them, so remaking them woudn't cause a fit.
-Well, it's been a while, but I'm back. I've been busy with classes (Literary studies, Short Story Writing II, Poetry, II, and Wight Lifting-No, I've met nobody like wildpegasus). They've been fine, I guess. Met a cool guy who's a fellow horror fan, and writes on occasion, so that's pretty cool.
-Anyways, Hotbutter was banned again, this time using the allias "Dirty Killingsocks." He's like wildpegasus, only amusing and not pathetic.
-I recently saw the "Cast Your Dream Porno" thread, and all I can say is...wow. I don't mind seing a girl get fucked in the ass, but Double Anal is not for me. Neither is watersports, bestiality scat, rape play, or anything that's well...sick, though I've read my fare share of horror stories with that kind of shit. Also, I like porn as much as the next guy, and I can see someone buying or renting one, but why would anyone become a connoiseur of it? Besides, there porn everywhere on the net, so what's the point of owing one. Ok, I casn see someone owning something like "Debbie Does Dallas" for historical purposes, but still, what's the deal. It's not the 80's anymore, we don't need to rent porn, because it's right there, and sometimes it's free. But that's just my opinion.
In a nutshell, I like porn as much as the next guy, but I'm not exactly an enthusiast.
-I might watch Raw tonight, since I'm (mostly) done with homework, and I've got nothing else to do. There's really nothing else on.
-As you folks know, I'm no Republican. That out of the way, RIP Gerald Ford. Here's someone who was an all around good guy, lead to Chevy Chase convincing us that he's a comedy genius, and while not exactly the best president, deserves a mention. RIP Mr President, and God-bless.
-In other news, Saddam bit the big one recently. He'll be missed by...oh, who the fuck am I kidding? Nobody is going to miss the guy. Hell, if you ask me, he got exactly what he deserved. I say let him rot in hell and let him begin his eventual sexual relationship with Satan.
-Remember when everywhere you went, you saw Ashley Simpson on the cover of every magazine? Well, it's now Rachel Ray. So it seems like I'll be seeing her on magazine covers for a while, as shw haunts my dreams.
-Finally, goodbye 2006. You where a year that gave us Clinton flipping out on TV, talk about global warming, Ann Coulter talking about anal sex and fisting (she acts like fisting is a bad thing), the long time coming ban of wildpegasus, a pedophile senator, Kevin Federline getting too much attention, Hillary getting too much attention, Ghostface Killah and The Roots not getting enough attention, Saddam, Gerald Ford, James Brown, Syd Barret, and Robert Altman's deaths, disappointing albums from The Killers, Ministry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Revolting cocks, The Republicans losing, George Clooney doing an incredibly self-important oscar speech, a new guilty pleasure in The Sounds, Family Guy sucking, then suddenly regaining some momentum, the headbutt seen 'round the world, and this worthless little blog. So long 2006, you will/won't be missed.
-James Brown is gone. Here's a guy who was a real innovator, and one of Music's most important figures. You wouldn't have a lot of the music you listen to if it weren't for him, just remember that. RIP Godfather of Soul.
-In lighter news, I had a decent Christmas. Got an IPod, a CD, and a T-Shirt. I wasn't feeling too festive, since I've had some problems sleeping. I'm currently wondering why I never got an IPod earlier, because this thing rules.
-"The Descent" is out on DVD today. If you haven't seen it, be sure to see it, because it's the best damn horror movie you are going to see all year.
-Religious Groups got their panties in a bunch over the remake of "Black Christmas" that's out right now. That reminds me, did anyone see it? I would, but I usually hate the idea of remaking a classic. Granted, there's some good remakes out there, but still...
I'm sure it's better than "Turistas"
-Well, Monday, it will be Christmas. I hope you all have a happy holiday, and yule tide cheer and all that.
-Anyways, I hate the fact that there is no snow right now. Right now, I'm visiting my parents for Christmas break, and I'm typing on one of their computers. Right now, it's 56 Degrees Farenheit, and it's raining instead of snowing.
Excuse me, but what kind of bullshit is this?
Seriously, this sucks. It's winter, it's almost Christmas, give me some fucking snow. I don't care how much there is, I just want snow. Is that too much to ask for? Come on, this is Ohio I live in, for God's sake.
-Monday, a remake of Black Christmas comes out. I'm skipping it, since I love the original, and I'm really not looking forward to this one.
-Anyways, again, Merry Christmas
-Well, Paul was banned, then unbanned. For those who don't know what the hell I'm talking about, check out The Chocolate Socket. Also, I hate the title of that board.
Anyways, it's weird. He was banned for being a PBP, I still don't know which one, and now he's back. My contruibution: Pictures and random quotes. I'm going to move up to song lyrics next.
Also, I never really have paid too much attention to Paul. Don't Hate him, not a huge fan of him, he's just kind of there to me.
-That out of the way, the current best thread right now is the "Best Albums of 2006" thread. Check out my picks, and honerable mentions.
-Well, it seems like right-wing pundits are already trying to smear Obama. While I like the guy, I doubt he's perfect. That out of the way, leave him alone already.
-Oh yea, "The Descent" comes out on Tuesday. If you haven't seen it yet, go check it out. I promise, you won't regret it.

Unanswered Questions: Why would anybody over the age of 20 (CronoT) watch Inuyasha?
What the Fuck???: Otakukin, or people who really think that they are anime characters trapped in human bodies. Also, otherkin, or people who really think that they are dragons, elves, vampires, and other fictional entities trapped in a human's body. It's nothing new, but still: What the Fuck???

Best Poster: Kotz. He's a good poster, a YTMND fan, and an all around cool guy.
Worst Poster: wildpegasus and Cronoyasha are almost tied, but I'll give it to the now banned WP. Honerable mention goes to Oblivious Heel. I know he was a PBP, so who was he?
Best Thread: Pictures I Like. It's the only thread I'm actually worth a damn in.
Best Sig: KOAB's "We Don't Dance, We Step!"
It's not Interesting Anymore: Leena.
Best Blog: kkktookbybabyaway. We may not see eye to eye on a lot of things, but damnit, his blog is entertaining.
Best Nice Guy: MaskedManOfMystery. A dork, but harmless, and never does anything to piss me off. In TSM's odd cliqueishness and sometimes too-cool-for-school attitude, his anime nerd stylings and love of wrestling and MMA is something of a breath of fresh air. CronoT, take note: This is how an anime nerd should act.
Represent: 2Gold and NoCalMike, two fellow horror fans.
Thank God They're Banned: wildpegasus, Cronoyasha, Oblvious Heel, JustPassinBy, Hotbutter Spoontoaster
Worst Revelation: Matt Young Likes 'Em Young. Possibly the creepiest thing I've ever read on TSM. Yes, creepier than the thread about wildpegasus's dad and his schlong.
Worst Attitude: JustPassinBy's attitude towards blacks and gays.
The MikeSC Award (Always Thinks He's Right): SuperJerk.
CronoT Award (Bad At Comebacks): EHME.
Underrated Posters: Special Peru, Si82, and Zorin. Zorin's a fellow fan of electronic music and post punk, Si82 keeps the "What are You Listening To" thread alive, and Peru is a fellow David Lynch fan and great poster.
Funniest Post: Czech comes up with "Steve Hitler." I don't remember if it was this year or last year, but it's still great.
Well, the wedding is over. My cousin Ann got married, and I'm happy for her. The wedding itself went by suprisingly fast, and it was freezing outside.
Afterwards, I went to the wedding reception. The wine sucked ass, but the bar had some good stuff. Had some rum and coke, and sprite with peach schnaps, and it was all good. My relatives (and the relatives of the groom) got drunk, and it was ugly. No violence occured, but I had the unfortunate image of seeing my uncle Greg, a white guy in his late 40's or early 50's, trying to dance to "Baby Got Back". There was also a bunch of shitty modern day country (Man, fuck Rascaal Flatts), and it was the whitest wedding reception I've ever been to.
My parents got drunk too. Now, when my dad gets drunk, he's more casual about it. I mean, you can tell, but he never does anything embarrasing. When my mom gets drunk though, it's different, as she gets a bit more excited, and starts dancing as badly as everyone else. Oh, and afterwards, she'll deny.
Afterwards, my brother, who doesn't drink, had to drive us all to my Aunt Pam's place. Mom and Dad were in no shape to drive (especially dad), and while I wasn't drunk (I'm the only person in my family who drinks but doesn't get drunk, and generally keeps it in moderation), I wasn't really in the shape to drive either.
When we got to my aunt's house, my uncle Dick tried to "be cool" with me, and tried to impress me with his musical tastes. Sorry man, but Karin Carpenters Christmas album isn't exactly a good album. He was most likely joking though, which makes sense, since he's always been the joker of the family.
Next day, I woke up, took a shower, had breakfast, talked with relatives, watched the National Geographic channel, went to Best Buy, and left for home.
And that's how it went.
No, I'm not getting married. I'm going to a wedding on Saturday though. A cousin of mine is getting married.
Anywho, weddings are a weird thing to me. Sure, you stay around afterwards, talk shit with folks, and eat cake, but it's weird to know that this person's life will never be the same, and neither will they.
Could I get married? I really don't know. I'll admit, staying with the same woman for your whole life doesn't sound that bad. I mean true love only happens once in a lifetime. On the other hand, there's parenthood. I really can't see myself as a father, since it's such a grave responibility. Granted, I'm not irresponsible. It's simply the thought of the fact that you have to take care of this person you brought into the world is somewhat strange to me. Also, what if they fuck up. And I mean really fuck up. You can punish them, but what good does that really do.
I know, I usually don't get this personal or emotional. It's just that this is just that things like this really make you think.
Anyways, I'm sure it will be alright.
Well, what did i do other than read, waste time on the internet, and see "Casino Royale" over the weekend? I watched something I never really do watch: The Food Network. As I was watching it, here's the personalities that stuck out the most.
Emeril: I swear, this man is on drugs, because I haven't seen an adult man this excited on television in a long time. The sheer hyperactivity is alarming, because you are waiting for him to have a heart attack down the road. Really, I'm suprised to see that the man is still alive.
Rachael Ray: She's not that ugly. Sure, she sounds like a guy, but she has a decent body. She's pretty damn annoying though, and from what I hear, she has a daytime talkshow now. It's amazing to see a woman so oppsessed with making quick meals.
Alton Brown: AKA Mr. Know it all. This guy really seems to think that he is God's gift to food related television programs. The "humor" applied to his "Good Eats" show is piss poor at best. Also, he looks like a child molester. Come on, look at the motherfucker, he practically screams "Hey kid, I've got candy in my car. Wanna hop in?"
Paula Dean: I have officially found a new induction into my "creepy television" list. This woman honestly scares the shit out of me with her cheerful demenor, love of all things fat and buttery, ungrateful brats, creepy smile, and well, the list goes on. There is no way this lady will ever have a heart attack, since her entire bloodstream is obviously made up of mayo, butter, fat, and high levels of sodium and cholesterol. She's always smiling, which leads me to think she's got some serious psychological issues. Come on, no one smiles that damn much. She's almost always cheerful, causing me to wonder if she's got corpses of sexually abused children in her home like Gacy did. Oh, then there's her two adult sons. Holy shit, is there a bigger pair of fucking ungrateful brats on television today? I think not. Honestly, if I were Paula Dean, I would have killed myself years ago.
So those are the 4 people on The Food Network that scare me the most.
Well, I promised it, so here's my review of Edward Lee's novel Coven.
In case you read this shitty excuse for a blog, you probably read my review of Lee's The Bighead and most likely didn't care. Well, it's my blog, so hey...
Anywho, Coven is a different beast than Bighead...for the most part. Sure, there's the requisite gore and sex (it's actually gorier than Bighead), as well as rednecks (who aren't psychopathic rapists this time) dark humor, and gross out moments. Unlike Bighead, there are few if any scatalogical moments, and it's much pulpier, and less interested in grossing the reader out, than Bighead.
The story deals with Wade St. John, a rich, arrogant college fuck-up who's doing bad in school. So his dad, fed up with this shit, decides to have Wade take summer coarses, and take a job as a toilet scrubber. While this damages Wades rep, he still has his buddies-Tom, a rich Republican who has a thing for really bad jokes, and Jervis (my favorite character), a philosophy fan who's been suicidal and crying rivers since his girlfriend dumped him for a body building German nazi. Oh, and the new campus police officer, a sexy girl named Lydia.
Meanwhile, somethings a miss (of course) in this university. Seems like someone with a huge axe has been killing people and abducting women. Oh, and there's some strange women in black, who giggle eat organs. It all involves aliens...
...that's right, aliens. You see, in spite of it's title, Coven is actually a sci-fi/horror story. And it's disgusting and great. There's tons of gore, plenty of sex, alien monstrosities having their way with nubile collge babes (including a scene with a man-sized cockroach-yes, you read that right), some great comedic moments, nearly unstoppable zombies, people being sliced in half, and much, much more.
So, is it good? Yes, in fact, I loved this book. Sure, theres some cliches (Wade's relationship with Lydia is a bit convenient, and some of the dialogue is a bit cliched), but this is a blast, and the best book from Lee I've read yet. The characters are great (Jervis in particular, is a laugh riot), some nice music selections (Sixousie and the Banshees? Brian Eno? Right on...), a wonderfully gallows sense of humor, gratuitous sex (hell, this whole book is gratuitious), some excellent gore, zombies, aliens, conspiracies...hell, this about has it all, and I loved it. It's a grat piece of pulp-horror that I couldn't put down.
You can get the book here.
-Well, Bush is still saying he won't pull out of Iraq. I would be angry, but at this point, it's such a non-suprise, I just can't throw a fit. It still pisses me off, but I can't do anything about it, so what's the use in complaining?
-Be sure to check out Masters of Horror...oh, why bother? I'm obviously the only person on this board who watches MoH, so what's the fucking point?
-As far as Christmas goes, I want an IPod, two t-shirts, a CD, and maybe a DVD. Yep, that's it. Hey, IPods are damn expensive.
-I rented "See No Evil" recently, and as expected, it sucked. Fortunately, it's laughably bad, and has two or three cool kills, so I'll give it that. That out of the way, I don't think Jason Voorhees would see any competition in Kane.
-Speaking of Horror movies, I'll probably check out "Turistas" tomorrow. I doubt it will be good, but T want to see an R-rated Horror movie in theatres, and I missed "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning."
-Well, Adult Swim has a new show called "Assy McGee." It's about a hard drinking, foul mouthed, tough cop...who's a naked, talking ass who occasionally farts.
Seriously. I'm not making thid up.
This idea would be amusing as a one time SNL TV Funhouse skit, but as an 11 minute series...come on. Normally, I don't complain about this kind of thing, but give me a fucking break. Clearly, William Street is no longer trying if this is what they think should be greenlit. Then again, they probably know that it sucks, and are just testing our patience. Now normally, I'm all for that. Hell, I thought showing "Saved by the bell" on Adult Swil was hilarious. This isn't hilarious though. It's just...stupid.
-Now that I'm done ranting, I finished Edward Lee's book "Coven" earlier today. It's a real blast, that's a bit cliched, but still good fun. Expect a review of it in the future.
-Finally, it seems like British music magazine NME has voted this girl as the coolest person in rock.
She's Beth Ditto, lesbian frontwoman of a band called The Gossip. At least she's from the US.
No offense to British TSM posters, but I'm glad I don't live in the UK all the sudden.
-Well, yesterday was Thanksgiving. Really, that's it for me. Nothing bad happened. Relatives came by, nobody got into any arguments, and things were fine. I ate too many peanuts though, and I'm paying for it today, if you catch my drift.
-I got Edward Lee's Coven in the mail today. I'll start reading it tonight, and give you updates as it goes on, and a review once I'm done.
-In the music front, I've been listening to Unquestionable Precence by Athiest lately. While Death Metal normally isn't me kind of thing, I'm liking this, especially the jazz inspired chord progressions.
-Saw Borat Wednesday, making it the second time I've seen it. It's still hilarious. Not the funniest movie ever, but it still rules regardless, and is the funniest movie I've seen this year, though most of this years comedies have sucked.
-Finally, it seems like Coffey was banned for being an asshole. I haven't been in the Wrestling folders much lately, so I really just can't bring myself to care.
Words from Hotbutter Spoontoaster, directed towards me. He was banned yesterday for making retarded racist comments in a thread about Kramer being racist, and for being a troll.
I remember when he first started posting. He constantly spelled words wrong, and insulted people, saying "I'll shit the fuck up all in your face" or something like that at one point. While it was amusing at first, it got annoying, especially the phrase WE KNOW. He even insulted me, as you can see above. I personally find this amusing, and think it's the funniest insult directed towards me on the net I've seen in a long while.
Some think he was FromBeyondTheGrave or Fake Rando. It really soesn't matter, because he's gone. Will I miss him? No. His gimmick well reached experation, and it got annoying really fast. Plus, his arguments with the likes of Paul and niskie got annoying really fast. So good riddence, I say.
I do take "weird horror movie freak guy" as a complement though.
-Oh yea, and Happy Thanksgiving folks. Hope you get stuffed and don't kill any family members over the Holiday.
-In case you haven't heard, famous director Robert Altman passed away recently. His credits include "M*A*S*H", "Nashville", "The Player", "Gosford Park", and more.
-In other news, Michael "Kramer" Richards appeared on Letterman last night to apologize. Whether or not he....THERE'S A NIGGER!!!!! I will never look at "Time for a drink from the firehose" the same way again.
-Well, I ordered Edward Lee's novel "Coven" from Shocklines. I highly recommend this website, as it has tons of cool horror related stuff. Oh yeah, look for a review of that on this blog soon, as well as one for Stephen King's novel "Cell" and some more.
-Finally, here's Andrew WK on the Aqua Teen Hungerforce Episode "Party All The Time" Yes, Frylock has cancer in this episode.
-In case you didn't hear, Michael Richards, aka Kramer from Seinfeld, was doing stand up recently, when a pair of black guys stated to heckle him. His response: He went on a huge racist tirade.
If he wasn't jewish, I'd call him KKKramer.
-Thanks for the responses in my last entry guys. My blog wasn't getting any attention at the time, and I wanted some, so thanks.
-I was unfortunately unable to catch Horrorfest's 8 Films To Die For. So, anyone who did, let me know how it was.
-Well, it's nearing December. I'm just mentioning this to let you guys know that I'll be doing a few year end reviews in December, looking at horror, music, and this whole mess of a message board.
In the history of television, there have always been shows that creeped me out for some reason or another. Here's a list of those shows.
-Wondershowzen: Granted, I like this show, but when people call it ther anti-Sesame Street, it's true. It's funny, but good God it's disturbing. The "Beat Kids" segments, while amusing, are just flat out creepy. How the hell do they get these kids to say this stuff anyways?
-MadTV: Not only the worst comedy show on TV. The skits were Michael "Being the Voice of Ghandi on Clone-High is the only good thing that happened in my career and oh God please, kill me before I open my fucking mouth" McDonald plays a man-child are not only lame, but also creepy. And I mean "Prisoners masturbate to this" creepy.
-Lazytown: If you've ever flipped through channels in the afternoon. then there's a good chance that you've seen this nightmare from Nick jr. Featuring unhealthy attention to men's packages and asses, and creepy puppets, this show is as disturbing as children's entertainment hets. The kicker though, is Stephanie, a girl (who's 15) with a pink wig and a disturbingly short skirt, who's become a pin-up fantasy for pedophiles world wide.
-Totally Spies: I've seen this on Cartoon Network, and I refuse to believe that it's a show for little girls. That's because each and every episode seems to have moments that focus on what get's the lonley animators off. Oh, and there's constant attention paid to female ass. While I have no problem looking at chicks asses, the fact that this is a cartoon, and for kids, puts a bad taste in my mouth. See also: Code Lyoko.
-Well, I've got an exam on Wednesday in my Central Asian Arts class (we've gone over China and India already, so this one is Japan), and I've been studying since 1:00 PM today. I've got more to do tomorrow, an bit more on Wednesday, then the final. So I'm pretty much going to be busy for the next 2 days. I'd look up information about Sumo wrestling and Japanese pagodas on Wikipedia, but you really can't trust that place.
-Masters of Horror was a disappointment last Friday night. Fortunately, this Fridays episode, looks great.
-Things have been thankfuly quite down here lately, since it's finals week this week. This is great for me, as I have one more final to get ready for, and there haven't been any major distractions lately.
That's all for now. I know, it's not that much, but other than studying, nothing is really going on for me right now.
-Well, in the past few days, I've been insulted by Hotbutter Spoontoaster and Banky. While Banky's was a typical "You're not funny", Spoontoasters was great. He said that he could beat me in a game of wits (not really a great feat) and called me "weird horror movie freak guy." This is why the internet exists folks.
-Cleetus and Jodine are breaking up. In all honesty, I still don't know what any woman on Earth would see in Kevin Federline. Just looking at the guy makes you want to vomit.
-It's official: The Democrats have taken over the senate. What amazes me is that this is the first time since 1964 that a Democrat won in Virginia. Now, some people are porobably going to be put in suicide watch.
-In horror movie news, it seems like a PG-13 horror movie called "The Return" opens today. It wasn't screened for critics, and it's a PG-13 horror movie, so it's going to suck.
-Finally, remember to watch "Masters of Horror" at 10:00 tonight on Showtime.
-Well, right now, it seems like the Democrats are going to take over. While I'm no Democrat, it's good to see that some change might be coming. Meanwhile,I've seen Bleeding Heart Conservatives react in different ways. Some are complaining (talk radio), some are trying to spin it so it will look like they sort of won (talk radio, Fox News), and some are just going to act obnoxiously for the next few weeks (Czech, who's suddenly transformed into our new reactionary conservative over the previous days. Personally, it's good to see him squirm, since he seems to realize that time is running out.)
-Masters of Horror was good last Friday. It had George Wendt, believe it or not (who plays a pretty convincing psycho), and was a good balance between dry humor and creepy atmosphere.
-I went to a poetry reading headlined by Saul Williams last night. It was awesome, and I might buy some of his books in the future.
-Donald Rumsfeld resigned. I actually never expected it to happen, it's great to see that he's finally gone.
