kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2007 I hope to get around to doing team recaps as the playoffs progress, so if you're not in the postseason and don't care who wins this year's title, stop by anyway to see where you went wrong this season. Here are the matchups for Wild Card Weekend. Remember there are Saturday games. PM picks and your guess as to the final score of each game to me (Example: Dallas 21, Seattle 30). Scoring details will be covered in the next post of this thread. NFL Matchups Kansas City at Indianapolis (7.5) Dallas at Seattle (3.5) New York Jets at New England (8.5) New York Giants at Philadelphia (7.5) TSM Seedings AFC 1) Cleveland Browns (SFA Jack) 2) Jacksonville Jaguars (Always Pissed Off) 3) Kansas City Chiefs (Alfdogg) 4) Buffalo Bills (Bob Barron) 5) Indianapolis Colts (Prime Time Andrew Doyle) 6) Tennessee Titans (Cuban Linx) NFC 1) Atlanta Falcons (King Of The 909) 2) Detroit Lions (Bravesfan) 3) Philadelphia Eagles (Harley Quinn) 4) Arizona Cardinals (Vern Gagne) 5) Green Bay Packers (Vitamin X) 6) Minnesota Vikings (Danville Wrestling) TSM Matchups for Wild Card Weekend. People who have submitted picks will be in boldface. Tennessee Titans (Cuban Linx) 9-7 @ Kansas City Chiefs (Alfdogg) 9-6-1 Indianapolis Colts (Prime Time Andrew Doyle) 9-7 @ Buffalo Bills (Bob Barron) 9-7 Minnesota Vikings (Danville Wrestling) 9-7 @ Philadelphia Eagles (Harley Quinn) 9-6-1 Green Bay Packers (Vitamin X) 9-7 @ Arizona Cardinals (Vern Gagne) 8-8 Top two seeds in each conference have a bye. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2007 SCORING: Whoever picks the most correct winners in each match-up advances to the next round. Example: * Cuban Linx picks, KC, DAL, NYJ and NYG to win/cover the spread. * Alfdogg picks IND, SEA, NE, PHI to win/cover the spread. * KC, DAL, NE and NYG win (meaning they covered the spread). * Cuban Linx beats Alfdogg 3-1 If there is a tie then the first tie-breaker will be whoever was more accurate in picking the total scores for all four separate games. Example: * Prime Time Andrew Doyle picks Indy to win 20-0, Seattle to win 21-14, NY Jets to beat the spread 14-17 in a loss to New England, and NY Giants to win 10-0. * Bob Barron picks Indy to win 20-10, Seattle to win 30-20, NY Jets to win 10-9, and NY Giants to win 20-10. * Indy wins 35-21, Seattle wins 24-3, New England wins 42-6 and the New York Giants win 13-7. * Doyle and Barron are tied at 3 correct picks each and move on to the first tie-breaker. * Doyle had a total of 20 points selected in the Indy (20 for Indy, 0 for Kansas City), Barron had 30 (20 for Indy, 10 for Kansas City). The final score total is 56, so Barron wins that game. * Doyle had a total of 35 points selected in the Seattle, Barron had 50. The final score total was 27, so Doyle wins that game. * Doyle had a total of 31 points selected in the New England game, Barron had 19. The final score total was 48, so Doyle wins that game. * Doyle had a total of 10 points selected in the Giants game, Barron had 30. The final score total was 20, Doyle and Barron tie that game. * Doyle defeats Barron 2 games to 1 with 1 tie in the first tie-breaker. If there is still a tie after the first tie-breaker, the second tie-breaker will be combining the total points of all four games and seeing who is closest to the total score of all four games – the first tie-breaker had all four games counted separately. The third tie-breaker will be seeing who is closest to every team score. If there is still a tie after the third tie-breaker then I’m going to shoot myself. But before I do I’ll flip a coin to determine the winner -- heads the “road” team wins, tails the “home” team wins.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2007 Also, if you're one of those people who waits until the last second to submit picks, I'd appreciate it if you would give me scores ASAP and let me know that you might change a score or two as the first Saturday kickoff nears. If you request this I'll hold off on making your picks public until you either give me updated picks or when the first kickoff takes place. Over the last two years I've have people not submit picks in the postseason, which just seems stupid, considering you go through 17 weeks to get this far only to not make picks when the games really count. (Emergency Picks in the postseason have an odd way of matching up with an opponent's selections, and since TB scores aren't factored into a person's EPs, that gives the no-shower an automatic loss.) kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2007 I wouldn't; SFA always chokes in the playoffs. On a side note, I'm pretty sure Vern has always made the postseason. And regarding matchups that both posters have sent picks in for: I'll be posting what each person picked later today. The reason I'm holding off a bit is in case anyone wanted to do last-second changes. Once picks get posted, there are no changing them.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2007 I'll do team-by-team recaps throughout the playoffs in this thread, but for now here are the end-of-season rankings. PF TOTALS This is the total amount of picks each team got right. 1) Atlanta Falcons (134) 2) Oakland Raiders (127) 3-t) St. Louis Rams (125) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-t) Detroit Lions (123) Indianapolis Colts Minnesota Vikings Philadelphia Eagles 9) Arizona Cardinals (121) 10-t) Buffalo Bills (119) Seattle Seahawks 12-t) Kansas City Chiefs (118) New Orleans Saints San Diego Chargers Tennessee Titans 16) Miami Dolphins (117) 17) New England Patriots (116) 18) Houston Texans (115) 19-t) Cleveland Browns (113) Carolina Panthers New York Giants New York Jets 23-t) Baltimore Ravens (112) Denver Broncos 25) Jacksonville Jaguars (111) 26) Pittsburgh Steelers (110) 27) Cincinnati Bengals (109) 28) Dallas Cowboys (107) 29) San Francisco 49ers (106) 30-t) Chicago Bears (103) Washington Redskins 32) Green Bay Packers (97) PA TOTALS Think of this as like a "strength of schedule." The higher the number, the more correct picks a team's opponents had. 1) Cincinnati Bengals (127) 2) San Diego Chargers (126) 3-t) Dallas Cowboys (123) Tennessee Titans 5-t) Carolina Panthers (122) Miami Dolphins San Francisco 49ers 8) New York Giants (121) 9-t) Chicago Bears (120) Oakland Raiders 11-t) St. Louis Rams (119) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13-t) Houston Texans (116) Philadelphia Eagles 15) Denver Broncos (115) 16) Baltimore Ravens (114) 17-t) Atlanta Falcons (113) Indianapolis Colts Washington Redskins 20-t) Minnesota Vikings (112) New York Jets 22-t) Arizona Cardinals (111) Buffalo Bills Kansas City Chiefs 25-t) Jacksonville Jaguars (110) New Orleans Saints Seattle Seahawks 28) Pittsburgh Steelers (108) 29) Detroit Lions (107) 30-t) New England Patriots (106) Cleveland Browns (103) Green Bay Packers POWER RANKINGS I take a team's PF score and subtract the PA score. I don't know what this means, but I do it anyway. 1) Atlanta Falcons +21 2) Detroit Lions +16 3) Minnesota Vikings +11 4-t) Arizona Cardinals +10 Cleveland Browns Indianapolis Colts New England Patriots 8) Seattle Seahawks +9 9-t) Buffalo Bills +8 New Orleans Saints 11-t) Kansas City Chiefs +7 Philadelphia Eagles Oakland Raiders 14-t) St. Louis Rams +6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16) Pittsburgh Steelers +2 17-t) Jacksonville Jaguars +1 New York Jets 19) Houston Texans -1 20) Baltimore Ravens -2 21) Denver Broncos -3 22-t) Miami Dolphins –5 Tennessee Titans 24) Green Bay Packers -6 25-t) New York Giants -8 San Diego Chargers 27) Carolina Panthers -9 28) Washington Redskins –10 29-t) Dallas Cowboys –16 San Francisco 49ers -16 31) Chicago Bears -17 32) Cincinnati Bengals -
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2007 Once in a while someone asks me why I don't participate in this contest. One reason is that I don't want it to appear that I'm looking at my opponent's picks and picking against them. For those that care, had I been the Steelers, this is how my season would have fared. This season I make picks over at my TSM blog and I used point spreads. I also used a TB score of 20, which I basically used when I did participate in Season 1. vs Miami: 9-7 (1-0) at Jacksonville: 8-12 (1-1) vs Cincinnati: 7-8 (1-2) BYE at San Diego: 3-6 (1-3) vs Kansas City: 6-6, lost TB (1-4) at Atlanta: 7-4, (2-4) at Oakland: 6-4 (3-4) vs Denver: 7-4 (4-4) vs New Orleans: 9-4 (5-4) at Cleveland: 9-7 (6-4) at Baltimore: 9-10 (6-5) vs Tampa Bay 6-6, won TB (7-5) vs Cleveland: 7-6 (8-5) at Carolina: 11-9 (9-5) vs Baltimore: 7-6 (10-5) at Cincinnati: 8-8 (11-5) Final Record: 11-5 Because I would have swept SFA Jack in the regular season (Kahran split the series), I would have finished first in the AFC North. However, because Kahran beat Always Pissed Off in Week 2 and I would have lost to APO, the Jags would have had the top seed with me at the number two seed. PF: 119, PA: 108, Power Ranking +11. Prime Time Andrew Doyle 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 So to advance I need the Giants to at least cover and for the Pats Jets game to total more than 38 points and for the Giants Philly game to total no more than 39 points.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2007 Other divisions will appear later in the playoffs whenever I feel like doing them. AFC East Buffalo Bills (Bob Barron) First Place In Division (9-7) PF: 119 (t-10th) PA: 111 (t-22th) Power Ranking: +8 (t-9th) Average Per-Game PF Score: 7.4 Average Per-Game PA Score: 6.9. Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 4-3 Best Outing: 12 Picks (Week 14) Worst Outing: 5 Picks (Week 10) Noteworthy Stat: Bob was 5-1 in divisional contests, which was key in getting him to the playoffs for the third consecutive year and claiming a second AFC East Divisional Title. New York Jets (Gert T) Second Place In Division (8-8) PF: 113 (t-19th) PA: 112 (t-20th) Power Ranking: (t-17th) Average Per-Game PF Score: 7.1 Average Per-Game PA Score: 7 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 3-3 Best Outing: 11 Picks (Weeks 2, 17) Worst Outing: 4 Picks (Week 10) Noteworthy Stat: Gert was 2-4 in his division, and losses to divisional opponents in Weeks 14 and 16 really hurt his playoff chances. There were three weeks in which he registered just 5 correct picks. Oddly enough, he was 2-1 in those contests. New England Patriots (nl-asshole) Third Place In Division (7-8-1) PF: 116 (17th) PA: 106 (t-30th) Power Ranking: +10 (t-4th) Average Per-Game PF Score: 7.3 Average Per-Game PA Score: 6.6 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 2-5-1 Best Outing: 10 Picks (Weeks 11, 16) Worst Outing: 5 Picks (Weeks 1, 3) Noteworthy Stat: Despite starting the season 0-5-1, this cocksucker managed to get himself into the playoff hunt late in the season. Thankfully for me, a 1-5 divisional record helped keep the kkk Bowl III champ from defending his title. Miami Dolphins (Spaceman Spiff) Fourth Place In Division (5-11) PF: 117 (16th) PA: 122 (t-5th) Power Ranking: –5 (t-22th) Average Per-Game PF Score: 7.3 Average Per-Game PA Score: 7.6 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 2-6 Best Outing: 12 Picks (Week 2) Worst Outing: 3 Picks (Week 6) Noteworthy Stat: Spiff lost a winnable Week 6 contest against the Jets by a 3-5 score and lost a Week 10 game against the Chiefs and a Week 13 game against the Jags by scores of 4-5. Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 Whew, I survive the first round by a whisker over Harley Quinn. I thought after New England when bananas on the Jets I might be done. Onto the divisional playoffs! It's also nice to see that I've rescued the Minnesota franchise in this league after the last two years of last place division finishes. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2007 AFC North Cleveland Browns (SFA Jack) First Place In Division (12-4) PF: 113 (t-19) PA: 103 (t-30) Power Ranking: +10 (t-4) Average Per-Game PF Score: 7.1 Average Per-Game PA Score: 6.4 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 6-2 Best Outing: 10 Picks (Week 2) Worst Outing: 5 Picks (Week 9) Noteworthy Stat: Yeah he had an easy schedule, but he was also 3-1 when it came to games where tie-breakers were needed. Going 5-1 in your division can’t hurt, either. And that 5-pick game he had in Week 9? His opponent had 4. Pittsburgh Steelers (Kahran Ramsus) Second Place In Division (8-7-1) PF: 110 (26) PA: 108 (28) Power Ranking: +2 (16) Average Per-Game PF Score: 6.9 Average Per-Game PA Score: 6.8 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 2-3-1 Best Outing: 10 Picks (Week 12 ) Worst Outing: 4 Picks (Weeks 6, 13 ) Noteworthy Stat: After that Week 12 tie with Baltimore, Kahran went on a four-game losing streak that took him from 7-3-1 to 7-7-1. Baltimore Ravens (King PK) Third Place In Division (7-8-1) PF: 112 (t-23) PA: 114 (16) Power Ranking: -2 (20) Average Per-Game PF Score: 7 Average Per-Game PA Score: 7.3 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 2-3-1 Best Outing: 10 Picks (Week 12) Worst Outing: 3 Picks (Week 6) Noteworthy Stat: King PK won the week where he only had 3 picks right and tied the week he had 10 correct. He had four games where he had 5 picks correct. In those contests, his opponents had scores of 5, 6, 7 and 8. PK went 0-4 in those contests. Cincinnati Bengals (Teke) Fourth Place In Division (6-9-1) PF: 109 (27) PA: 127 (1) Power Ranking: -18 (32) Average Per-Game PF Score: 6.8 Average Per-Game PA Score: 7.9 Record In Games Decided By One Pick Or Less: 5-0-1 Best Outing: 9 Picks (Weeks 13, 14 ) Worst Outing: 5 Picks (Week 6, 17) Noteworthy Stat: Faced with the highest PA score, Teke managed four wins when his contest was decided by 1 pick; he was 1-0-1 in games needing a TB score. While he had more losses than wins, his games were relatively close: Three losses were by 2 picks, four losses were by 3 picks and one loss was by 4 picks.
