Harry was the first interesting developmental call up in months (Major Brothers? Cody Rhodes?), but I guess I won't be seeing him for a while.

Surprised to hear she was 84, looked younger in that last promo with Mae.

The guys one of the better workers technically, and is the most over guy on RAW at least (and yes, he was more over than Cena before the injury). His mic skills are poor, but that didn't stop Lashley.

Ooo, unlucky.

I gave 5 votes for Hardy, but apart from that nothing.

This annoys me more than any of Steph's stupid creative blunders over the past few years. -

Maybe because everytime he comes out he gets a reaction at least 3 times bigger than any of their current top stars? -
Most shocked you have ever been while watching wrestling

HHH beating Cactus Jack twice in 2000. Seriously, that angle was so good in building up Cactus Jack as some kind of indestructible maniac that I was sure he was going to win. I'm sure I've said this before, but those 2 wins made HHH in my mind. -
Nowadays I have absolutely no way to watch RAW, so does someone have a youtube/dailymotion link to Santino's promo? (A link to the women's match would be good as weel, but I'm more interested in the former)

I've bought a load of ECW dvd's recently, House Party 96, November to Remember 96 and Barely Legal are all fun shows. Looking at just the cards, there's not many WWF/WCW events I'd buy from that era. -
So I'm looking at the matches for Cyber Sunday, are they pushing HBK for Orton? Because otherwise I reckon Jeff's a pretty safe lock.

^ Heel Jericho is still gold, as long as he has the mic. Seriously? 5' 7"? I thought he was around 5' 9" or so. Anyways, I'm 5' 11" and always wondered whether I'm tall enough for heavyweight status (Seeing as I can't bulk up like Taz did, and even he was mocked for his size).

Gabe? (Before I get ripped, I'm asking a question, not stating a fact)

Probably some Japanese worker. I don't watch Joshi, but it wouldn't take a lot to top what the WWE has to offer. -

So does Paul London really not give a shit about his job? Messing around in important promos, telling fans stuff months before it airs, and continuely busting out moves (fucking awesome moves I might add) we've been told he's been banned from doing. Any ideas? -
Cena Injured Tonight (Out 6-12 Months)
mysterious_w replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in The WWE Folder
Erm, isn't a torn muscle one of those injuries very common in heavy steroid users? You know, the one you all mention when HHH, Batista, Edge got injured etc. Maybe he isn't as squeaky clean as some of you think. -

I don't know why any of you would want one of the best performers in WWE to quit, or even take a lesser role. -
I like how JR alternates between calling Shelton and Lashley "the Greatest Pure Althlete in the WWE" every week.

I'd say Jeff, Taker and Rey are all more over than Cena. The last one may also be pushing him for merch sales. Define over, in your eyes. Whether it's face heat or heel heat, it's hard to say that too many guys can sustain a reaction from the beginning to the end of a match like Cena does. Jeff Hardy gets that initial pop and pops for his high spots. UT gets the initial pop and the victory pop, but unless he's in a match with a top notch worker, the fans are sitting on their hands during the match itself. Rey, I'd put him in with Jeff Hardy. Cena is getting a strong reaction from the moment he shows his face to the moment he leaves. The crowd reaction during his WM22 match with HHH was so surreal. I don't recall ever hearing anything like it, at least not in the WWE. Agreed. I was at Unforgiven and the crowd was pretty dead for most of the ppv. They were alive for the entire Cena/Orton match however. I don't think I've ever heard a crowd that loud during a 4 minute rest hold. Give Orton a bit of credit there though, there were some pretty strong Orton chants.

Jeff Lynch is one tape trader everyone seems to recommend. He only deals through email though, no site. purodvd.com has lots of DDT stuff, but I'd be a bit wary. I've ordered stuff there for pretty cheap prices, but after recieving my order it took the owner a month to send the things off.
-
A tape trader is offering a sale of a full year of Nitro for $50, and I'm really tempted to get either 97 or 98. I only started watching wrestling in Sep 98, and I could only get WWF. I want to buy a set mianly for guys like Jericho, Benoit, Luchadors and Ultimo, but I'm also really interested in the Flock angle. I'd also want a bit of WCW CRAZINESS~!, but not too much. What year should I buy?

Examples of a Wrestler TRULY Being Put Over
mysterious_w replied to zappafrank's topic in General Wrestling
Surprised no one mentioned Foley basically making Triple H in early 2000. That Royal Rumble was shown on network TV here in the UK (First of maybe 3 PPV's shown like that), and I'd been watching the syndication shows relgiously in the weeks up to it. Everything from Mankind turning into Cactus Jack, the video packages with IWA footage, the street fight stipulation, made it look like Foley was getting the belt. But then Triple H won, and it didn't look ridiculous. Then we get a rematch in a freaking Hell in a Cell, looks even more like Foley's winning with the retirement promise, and Triple H wins it again. Those two matches put Triple H right on the top tier in my mind.
