  1. Matt's hazing has begun.
  2. 1) ATT 2) He's overrated, with his best win over the past 4 years beaing Andrei "Call My Agent" Semenov. 3) I dislike his girlfriend 4) "This win is for Korea." "Say that in Korean." "..." 5) He didn't add his name to Thales Leite's resume.
  3. ...if Kang got props for beating Sik, it'd simply be a continuation of one of the reasons I want him to lose badly.
  4. Obviously someone forgot to hook the leg, making them less knowledgable about submissions than Mark Hominick. MMA > Pro Wrestling
  5. I actually pointed out the STF, and we both agreed it's not nearly as cool as an octopus hold.
  6. Question from MSIA that I'll pose to you guys (since I'm out of the loop): Why is Samoa Joe considered a submission machine if he only has a rear naked choke? And no guard game? My theory: most pro wrestling fans are retarded when it comes to actual fighting and think street fights last 5 minutes in length.
  7. Takimoto is probably getting smoked, while Conan/Villasenor should be semi competive (with Joey as a slight favorite). Also, as previously mentioned, seeing Sik sub Kang would be good times.
  8. I put Shaolin at the top because not only does he have one of the most dominating top games in MMA, but also has shown a slick guard game as well. It's not always pretty (though I'm sure the Nova Uniao guys believe side control is a beautiful art form), but you can't really argue with results.
  9. I was actually going to go with Kaz Nakamura, but figured 'ol Shungo would be better considering the topic. I actually think Oyama is semi-well rounded enough that he would give a number of 183lbs. fighters a lot of problems, as opposed to either rolling over or getting rolled over by various HW's. Also, I give Aoki a slight edge over BJ because I believe that the difference in the guard game of each (advantage to Aoki) is larger than the difference in the top game of each (advantage BJ). As for Serra... well, he hasn't really submitted anyone of note in his MMA career. No one doubts his sport BJJ accomplishments, but he hasn't been able to transfer those abilities into an MMA skillset. My list: 1) Vitor Ribeiro 2) Alexandre Franca Noguiera 3) Shinya Aoki 4) Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera 5) BJ Penn Of course it's completely subjective, though I think these 5 have strong cases for them.
  10. Actually, I should've said even higher than they already are (since some are already considered Top 10). - Shinya Aoki - Mitsuhiro Ishida - Akihiro Gono - Sanae Kikuta - Norifumi Yamamoto - Koutetsu Boku - Kuniyoshi Hironaka - Satoru Kitaoka - Katsuya Inoue - Ganjo Tentsuku - Yushin Okami - Shungo Oyama (!)
  11. If cutting weight were more commonly practiced, no less than a dozen Japanese fighters (that currently don't) could enjoy Top Ten (or higher) status.
  12. Laughable. Welterweight has arguably 3 Top 5 pound for pound fighters, and a bazillion solid fighters abroad. The correct answer is middleweight, with Rich Franklin being pretty much the only standout fighter in the whole division.
  13. Actually, Kid comes in around 6-7 on my list. Hughes & Fedor switch a good deal in my mind, with Penn having lost the top spot along with his desire to excel.
  14. Shinya Aoki is one of the 3 best BJJ'ers in MMA.
  15. DLH largely dominates Mayorga, dropping him in the 1st round, again in the 6th and finishing him with a TKO moments later. I think Oscar outlanded him about 2-1 throughout the match.
  16. Glover should submit him in the first. Also, where'd you hear this? The rumour was Tyson Griffin vs. Ludwig.
  17. I would assume it's common courtesy with any sports-related title win. Is it really a bother to wait an extra 5 minutes to recognize a guy's achievement?
  18. Even if Riggs can't handle Swick's heat standing (or at least catch his stuck out chin), he has enough wrestling ability and size to take it to the ground and rain down elbows. Swick has decent submissions, but nothing that's indicated he'll submit Riggs easily.
  19. Riggs is a fucking deuchebag, but if Swick doesn't defend the takedown and keep his chin down, he's getting cracked.
  20. Good clip simply for the "No one wants to stand with me" hilarity.
  21. Whereas if your an amateur, a month of BJJ should suffice. *shame* Anyways, sounds like the crowd not only disrespected Hioki by leaving before he was crowned champion, but a number of people let loose a couple of racial slurs during the fight. I thought Canadians were a bunch of loving, understanding bastards? What gives?
  22. Hatsu "the Iron Broomstick" Hioki submitted Mark Hominick at the end of the 2nd round tonight to become the new TKO champion. Bow down to your Japanese overlord, Canananadians.
