Three rounds of TERROR~! Chris Bryte vs. Tina in a boxing match. $100,000.75 is on the line.

I didn't really get the Mt. Rushmore one, but the Goomba pic had me laughing. The feud between Rick and AJ is shaping up nicely. I really liked the thing with the Boss too, and I'm a bit interested in finding out who (or what) Boss turns out to be. I figured you might get a kick out of the ass shot. Thanks for the positive feedback.

I think he posted it straight to HE instead of the HD folder. As for the show, all around solid build to the PPV. Everything was advanced nicely, I think. Great stuff with the Two Man Ego Trip, and the swerve with Candie was nicely done. I also liked the backstage skit with Hoff and Axel, because it established a couple more wrestlers that could potentially challenge for Zack's belt, and that's always good. Hope y'all liked Bryte's stuff, since this was the first time in A WHILE that I actually felt somewhat comfortable writing a promo.

I was indeed. Thanks for the heads-up. MST3K, I got yours. I'm putting the show up now. I'm STILL missing at least two segments, one from Adam and one from Papa, but I'll leave room to edit them in later. I thought I had sent both of my early this morning, but I'll resend them again.

The Headhunters.

I haven't seen it listed yet, but Jericho held the Hardcore and Tag Team belts BRIEFLY in 01 when he beat Show (I think) for the belt, then lost it to Rhyno immediately afterwards. Also, 2 Cold Scorpio and the Sandman in 95 ECW. Scorp had the TV, won the tag belts for he and Sandman, then Sandman went on to win the World.

Benoit/Angle was a good match, but I'm still wondering why they decided to go with that when Benoit had beef with Guerrero after his split from the Radicalz. Did they ever blow off Benoit's feud with Eddie/the Radicalz in 01, or did they just forget about it?

My favs... 1. DX 2. John Cena 3. HBK 4. Tommy Dreamer's ECW Theme (Man in the Box) 5. RVD's ECW Theme 6. Damn near all of Eddie's, namely the heel WCW theme and the LG's version of Lie, Cheat and Steal 7. Angle's 8. Dudleys circa 2001 (the first song they had that had lyrics) 9. Shane Douglas/Triple Threat (Perfect Strangers) 10. Diesel's circa 95 11. HHH (My Time) 12. Chyna (Who I Am) 13. Jericho 14. Voodoo Chile 15. Warrior

He began using it on the Rock just prior to No Way Out 01 and has been using it ever since.

You know, since the Headhunters were mentioned, does anybody remember that Raw in 97 where Jim Cornette brings them out (wearing red and black and without their facepaint) and sent them after (I think) the Headbangers? And then a week later they were gone, never to be seen in WWF again. Anybody know what happened?

I still might order the game once I get the money. When I played the trial, everything worked fine for me, and I liked a lot of the things they added. I agree that it probably was a little too complicated, because it seemed like it took years for me to book my first show...and they didn't have an auto-booker to my knowledge, so when I'd get frustrated and just try to move on, I couldn't.

Why did you name yourself THAT?
Papacita replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in General Chat
Basically, I like Chyna so I thought the name would fit. It's also a reference to a Fabolous song I used to like. -
Not totally sure about Coach (sometime in late 99/early 2000) but Cole got started in late July/early August 97 hosting Shotgun Challenge I think. I remember when I went to a Raw in Atlantic City that August, I ran into him before the show...he was just walking down the boardwalk plain as day and most people didn't even recognize him because he'd just got started. I think he stopped using it when he became the host of Tough Enough.

The One and Only Raw Thread (May 10, 2004)
Papacita replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
About damn time they did this for Chris. They should've made him a video before Mania. -
Nah. Gene's voice makes me wanna laugh whenever I hear it. No clue why, but it does. I wouldn't mind Vince's voice being used if he was kept off TV a little more. Jesse probably would be best though.

What matches in wrestling history were emotional
Papacita replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
Jericho/Chyna from Survivor Series 99. A lot of people give me shit over this one, but honestly, I can't think of any match that's drawn me in more. I *FLIPPED* when Chris countered Chyna's huracanrana into the Walls. I could probably list Chyna/Lita from Judgment Day 01 for similar reasons, but I've been laughed at enough for one thread. HBK/HHH from Summerslam 02: Looking back, the match really wasn't all that good, but HBK is my all-time favorite, which ultimately made it special. The fact that there was legit concern surrounding the condition of Shawn's back added a lot to the match's aura, and HHH's back work (especially the backbreaker on the chair) had me seriously worried early on, but when Shawn made the superman comeback, I marked my ass off; a lot of people point to this as the match's major flaw, but really, the kip up and seeing him bust out all his old moves again are what made the match special. I still say that if that had been Shawn's last match ever, it'd have been the perfect send off for him. I guess I can throw Tatanka/Ludvig Borga in here, because I damn near cried when they ended Tatanka's streak. -
Well he was a heel, so it wasn't a turn...but I don't think they ever explained why he was with Coach. Lawler gave some kinda explanation when Cade fought Tajiri. Coach is Bischoff's boy, and being cool with Coach puts Cade on good terms with Bischoff. Not sure if that was what the writers initially had in mind, though, since Coach admitted that he had never looked at the alliance in that way before.

Yeah. The version I heard was that he was supposed to win it that night, and job to Sid the next night off of interference from Bret.

A cool little spot I've written into a couple of e-fed matches. Wrestler 1 leaps at Wrestler 2 with a flying bodyscissors (that thing Rey does where he pushes up from wheelbarrow position into an armdrag/bulldog/etc), but as he's pushing up, Wrestler 3 runs in and drives him back down in a DDT. That spot they always do in WWE where Wrestler 1 does a double leg takedown, Wrestler 2 boots him back into the turnbuckle and Wrestler 1 falls down and accidentally headbutts Wrestler 2 in the crotch. Just ONCE I'd like to see Wrestler 2 raise a foot...a knee or something as the other guy's on the way down. Wrestler 1 is standing on the floor with his back to the ring apron and Wrestler 2 is in the ring. Wrestler 2 runs in Wrestler 1's direction and swings through the ropes 619-style, but instead of swinging back into the ring, he catches Wrestler 1 and takes him down in a satellite headscissors. I have no idea if that's been done before (or if that description even makes sense, lol) but I think that would be cool as hell.

Wrestlers where their debut televised matches were
Papacita replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
No. He wrestled at least one jobber match before the Rumble. -
Ok, I'll take a stab at this. I often get them confused myself, so if this is wrong... I think writers focus only on storylines, while bookers handle matches, decide who goes over, possibly work out finishes, who's pushed, who should hold a title, etc. I imagine that they work hand and hand, and I really don't think writers existed before the Russo era.
-
The gimmick got old pretty fast, plus they really didn't enough talented Light Heavies to make the division successful. Basically. He just showed up on Raw (or was it Heat) one night in the Summer of 98. Sometime in 01 or 02. They tried to get him to renew his contract, but he refused.
-
Can't say I blame him if they made him feud with CHYNA! That program also got him the most heat he'd ever had in WWF (and possibly his career) up to that point.
-
Since he's been back in WWF/E, I don't think so. Back in the day, he's hit axehandles and crossbodies from the top.

She doesn't look terrible, IMO. Disappointing though, considering how she used to look.
