Should I be marking for Coach like I am?

I would mark out for a battle dance right about now. Team Austin vs Team Bischoff

Dear God he's stooped to HHHolding Down women.

Mankind from the 97 Slammys...paraphrased: "I'd like to dedicate this award to someone I've always looked up to...someone who's always been like a father to me... Mr. Aldo Montoya!"

That had me dying. And I also got a laugh out of Bart's waking up in the car. As for Barney...I haven't really been watching all that much since 2000, so I've missed some things. Exactly how did he change?

^ should stick with sheep. They're easier on the skin. Not that < would know, of course.

I'd have done Pete's wife. I'm just saying. -
OMG I have that RAW on tape- it also has the Hart/Lafiette match that was pimped earlier. The Kid turn didn't happen though till Ramon vs Sid with Kid as the ref. That match was pretty cool from what I remember. I liked how after the last match, when it looked as if Kid and Razor were all buddy/buddy again, Kid raised his hand and then tried to schoolboy him for the win. There was another Kid/Razor match from 95, the week after they started their "New Fall Season" () that was pretty good too. Kid was angry at Razor for babying him, so he challenged him to the match, and won after Dean Douglas interfered. Hell, that whole Douglas/Razor/Kid angle in 95 was great.

I've got the foam smoking skull belt, a foam tag title belt and my *beloved* foam I-C Title belt (long, boring story). I *want* a replica I-C Belt so bad it's not even funny. I actually had the money to get it this past summer, but I spent it on other stuff.

That would be early 2000 and I think it's the same match that Michrome's referring to. That was pretty much the match that made Rikishi in WWF. How about the X-Pac/D'lo Euro Title match from 98? I always liked that one. Also, I was watching an old tape from May 99 (building towards Over the Edge), and there was a match between Val Venis and Jeff Jarrett on there that was surprisingly good. The crowd was pretty dead for it until Debra got involved though.

I agree with you there, but she could've worded it differently, or just flat out lied and say she doesn't know how he died. Saying "I don't want people to think negatively of him" pretty much casts Crash in a negative light anyway, perhaps even moreso than if she'd just revealed the cause of death, because it plants an idea in the reader's mind that it was something bad. Again, I don't mean to attack her given the situation, but I just think she gave a really bad answer there. -
The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread

That's never happened to me, but when I was playing the other day, there was an odd angle where I had to run out and save Eddie Guerrero from Old School Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero. From there, Taker and evil Eddie challenged good Eddie and me to a tag match at the PPV with the World (mine) and I-C (Eddie's) titles on the line...but when we got to the PPV, evil Eddie was replaced with RVD...who was actually came out with the I-C Belt and was announced (on the graphic) as I-C Champ...as was good Eddie. We won when I made Taker tap to a Dragon Sleeper, but I wonder what would've happened if I ended up beating RVD, since it was a double title match and he was (apparently) I-C Champion as well. -
I sure as hell don't remember that. Hardcore was getting pretty good heat with his "Big Shot" gimmick in the summer of 99, but his push seemed to dry up as soon as Russo went to WCW. They tried throwing him in an I-C Title program in early 2000, which didn't really go over all that well, and he was completely overshadowed once Crash started his 24/7 gimmick. I dunno how you can say he was getting RVD-type heat when he broke his arm.

I don't mean to sound insensitive here, because I can understand that she's grieving, but how is a comment like this doing anything to spare his reputation? All it does is breed more speculation about the death, and would probably end up doing more damage than if she actually told the causes of his death. -
The Goldust attack and the Raw Bowl were two different shows actually (same taping though). Still, the match itself was good enough, and I'll be damned if I didn't mark for that Goldust beating. At the time, I damn near wore out my VCR by rewinding the tape to watch the beat down over and over again. I miss being a mark. :sniffle:

That's the main reason I never understood the love for the Austin/Taker SummerSlam match. It wasn't the worst match I've ever seen, but damn it, with that kind of build going into the show, I was expecting something spectacular. I'd say the SummerSlam 98 build was the best PPV build ever. And I'll second the X-Pac/Kidman stuff. Their title unification match (where X-Pac won the Cruiserweight belt) was my favorite...partially because I was there, but still, it was a great match, and it was funny as hell watching the WWF try to get X-Pac over as a face and fail miserably.

Eh...Joanie's not a valid excuse for not inviting Sean to the wedding, considering that their break up was confirmed back in like May or June. I dunno what's sadder, the fact that I offered a serious reply to a thread about wedding invitations or that I pay that much attention to Joanie's relationship status.

That was actually the first match I tuned into when I started watching wrestling on a regular basis. Much love for that one. Another match I always liked was the HBK/HHH Raw match from May 96. I think a copy of that is floating around on Kazaa now. How many people remember that "Star Studded" 4-Way tag title match leading up to SummerSlam 98? It was (I believe) Rock and D'lo Vs The Outlaws Vs Taker and Austin Vs Kane and Mankind. It's been a few years since I've watched it, so I'm not sure how it holds up, but I LOVED that match live. Edit: Also, add HBK/Mankind from 8/11/97 to that list.

Bret Hart and Hakushi from July 95 as well as his match with Jean Pierre Lafite from that October. The Hakushi match is easily one of my all-time favorite Raw matches and almost nobody remembers it.

Ahmed and Rocco on the same show!!!! *double mark out* -
I liked Camp Cornette when they were around. They'd have been great if they weren't handicapped by the booking like they were.
