Who did Test ever beat?

Is this a joke?

It is looking like we're in for another McMahon-a-Mania this year. Now Vince, Stephanie & Shane are all involved. I'm sure we're still in for a "swerve" of some sort as the McMahon's are never all on the same page at the same time. I really do not want to see more storylines revolving around the McMahon family. I don't want to watch a McMahon match. I don't care about a McMahon turning heel/face.

Does Rourke Being at WM Cheapen "The Wrestler"?
Old School replied to zappafrank's topic in The WWE Folder
Honestly, I hope Rourke really does pull out. I would actually like to see Jericho have a real wrestling match at Wrestlemania. -
Well, Kane losing all of his matches helps with that too.

January 26, 2009: Never Forget.

First time I've seen a wrestler blow up from throwing shitty punches...

I think it'll be very similar to the last few weeks. We'll still get Orton/Steph interaction. We'll still get HBK/JBL action. There will probably be some dumpy Mysterio/Knox undercard stuff. The only thing that has changed is that we're one week closer to Wrestlemania. I mean, Melina has the women's title now but that doesn't really matter. It's still just going to lead to Beth/Rosa stuff.

Surprises like that being ruined is exactly why WWE hates the internet.

Yeah, I am pretty confident that not only is Triple H not winning, but Randy Orton seems like a pretty obvious winner. I was wrong with my prediction last year because I didn't see the Cena return coming. I expect Orton winning will be the kayfabe reason for why Steph doesn't fire him after hitting the Punt on Vince. Then, I wouldn't be surprised if the SWERVE~! was that she wanted him to do it so she could keep her power over RAW. Of course, I might be crazy because I also think DiBiase will "BATISTA" himself and turn face on Orton somewhere down the line. It worked for Evolution, don't see why it wouldn't work with The Legacy.

I like how they feel compelled to list Jeremy Borash, like anyone gives a shit about that fucker. Also, I'm shocked that it wasn't "The Monster" Abyss. TNA loves to give nicknames to the nicknames.

I have seen no signs of this supposed "PG TV" that people say WWE are sticking to now. It's the same show that it's been for several years. What, exactly, has changed? Pro-Wrestling, especially WWE, will never be 100% kid friendly. WWE was never going to stop getting women to pose for Playboy because it brings in money.

The opening "Rumble" segment was kind of pointless. I suppose the point was to make "The Legacy" as a group, look strong because it showed that they would work as a group. However, the match was so rushed, it just ended up meaning nothing. The Beth Phoenix squash of Kelly Kelly was pointless. I really do not understand why we need another crazy, stalker storyline either. Melina/Jillan later in the show was equally time-wasting. I have no desire to watch Beth/Melina at the Rumble either. Just stop. Punk/Regal, after the weeks spent building up to it, should have been more. That is why I hate almost all TV matches. A misplaced commercial break really just kills the flow. The crowd helped a lot, as they were obviously hot, but seeing Punk win the IC title and celebrate the way he did, after being a former WWE Champ, was just weird. The main-event promo with Cena, et al was awful. HBK: "I need the money!" Cena: "but you can still wrestle!" Then they both repeated what they said. Just dumb & awkward. Knox/Mysterio don't care. Knox lost any heat he had when he was pinned clean by Mysterio in the 10-man clusterfuck a few weeks back. Cryme Tyme/Mizorrison was basically another squash match. Leading to a match and probably a title change that I don't want to see either. Jericho/McMahon's was dreadful, although I did get a kick out of Steph acknowledging the crowd chant and Jericho going through with it. The "Punt" by RKO on McMahon was good although I wasn't a fan of his selling of it as "oh shit, what did I just do?" I would have rather he laughed. Really weak RAW, especially as a go-home show to one of the biggest PPVs that the WWE has. If people just focus on Punk/Regal and the punt, they probably thought it was a "good" show. That would be ignoring the other hour & a half+ though.

I liked his match with JBL too. I think it was an I Quit match. Ended with the exhaust pipe off the semi.

This is nothing new to WWE. This has been around as long as Vince McMahon has been around. This is their "style." EVERY top face does this. Hell, all the top heels and top tag teams and women and cruiserweights all do the same shit week in and week out as well. The TV matches are the same, the PPV matches are the same. You only notice when you watch every show show, every week, for several years. Most fans don't do that. Most fans don't go on-line and talk about wrestling when the shows aren't on. Hulk Hogan worked that formula and made a lot of money doing so. The Rock & Stone Cold did too. The big difference is that they had more freedom in their promos.
-
You wouldn't. At least in theory. I think the idea is that you do it to "freshen things up." Austin was pretty over every time they turned him. Rock too, sans the first time. Just because it gives the writers new storylines that they can write.
-
That's not what I am arguing. I think Cena is an incredible face, I'm just not going to completely dismiss that he could be a great heel due to that. My reasoning being because it would be a hypothetical guess. I'm just saying, we can just wait and see because it will happen eventually. So instead of saying things like "but the merch sales!" to strengthen arguments, you could simply say "maybe, but it's not needed right now." Who's more over: Jeff Hardy or John Cena? Both are the top faces of their show. Both move a ton of merchandise. Hardy doesn't seem to get the "mixed" reaction that Cena does. Hardy has been around for longer. Raw is a "bigger" show than Smackdown.
-
I agree. Of course, I don't think he's a terrible wrestler either. At least not a terrible professional wrestler. Maybe not so clutch if we're talking technical wrestler...but who cares? He gets noise and makes money, that's really all that matters. Let us not forget though, that there's a lot more TV now than there was back then. With Raw every Monday, ECW every Tuesday, Smackdown every Friday and a PPV once a month...the WWE burns through a lot more at a lot quicker of a pace. So whereas it took Hogan many years to burn out, it might not take Cena as long. How many times did Austin/Rock switch from heel to face and back again?
-
Is just seems like whenever there is an example to the contrary the argument is always "yeah...BUT." Bottom line is, we don't know if heel Cena would work, unless they do it and we find out.
-
Is Low-Ki not a play on Loki, another name for the devil? I thought that was the idea, not "low key."
-
The nWo were heels and they did pretty good in the merchandise department.
-
I don't give what the thread title has to do with the post. I mean, you basically just summed up the storylines/PPVs that we've all already watched. Talk more about how you were feeling and what you were thinking and whatnot.

Thank you. I would have no problem with that, actually. -
