I never suggested that, and for the people who did I don't think it would work.

Chris Jericho, I just don't know what to make of him
zhangmeijie replied to zhangmeijie's topic in The WWE Folder
The post says why he doesn't care for Jericho, but it is all opinion based. There are no real facts or examples to back any of it up. "I don't like Jericho because he blows tons of spots and his matches suck". "He calls the fans out and thinks all his matches are great". When does he do that... In his in character promos on RAW? I don't remember reading any out of character interviews where he tells his fans off. Edit: I just reread some of his post and he does give a few examples. But he just jumps from one topic to the next after briefly talking about each point. There's not enough meat. Sorry I didn't type enough meat, maybe I am a closet vegaterian. Next time I will try and expand on my points. -
Correct I live and work in Dublin. Impossible to make a good wage in Shanghai. Like most young Chinese I go elsewhere for a few years, make some money, then go home.

I put this in general wrestling as it will feature WWE and TNA and retired stars. (Such as Hogan and Hart.) Basically this is an idea I have being working on for some years (elsewhere) where I take two wrestlers, then discuss who is the better wrestler in several areas. Picking a winner at the end. Remember Summer 2004? It was the summer of love, no wait that was 1964. It was the summer of not much at all. It was however the summer I started my wrestler vs. wrestler debates, a popular topic which sadly died because I had not got time to continue it. For people who don't know the concept is simple. I, that would be me, take Two wrestlers and debate which one is the better wrestler using several points, I then decide an overall winner based on who won the battle in the most areas. I am going to start off this time with Two Men who know each other well, friends on screen and off. Two Men who have battled each other often and stood side by side just as often, The founding members (Rude and Chyna aside) of DX. Mister Triple H and Mister HBK. HBK Shawn Michaels Vs The Game HHH The main event. The controversial HBK the man who helped define the new ‘Attitude’ era &HHH the man many rightly consider the Man who helped carry WWE after HBK was forced into retirement. (Yes Austin carried WWE but in 1999/0 HHH and Foley damn sure helped.) Putting them together as a team was always going to be interesting and it sure did result in some controversy. It is my opinion that These Two Man have more top 10 (of all time) worthy matches, often against each other, than any other Two Men in WWE history. Only One of them is going to win this ‘bout’ though, I already know which and I hope you enjoy the ride in finding out. Finisher. Shawn of course has the Superkick, one of the most overused moves in pro wrestling by the way, but let’s regress a little first. He didn’t always use this move. Let’s return to his days as a Tag team specialist wrestler (as was his nickname at the time.) Back then he used in conjunction with his tag partner Marty Janetty a move called The Rocker Dropper. In singles matches he would also finish off opponents with this move, a move that looked much like Billy Gunn’s Fameouser. This was a good move. Then for a very brief period He used a sort of back suplex move. Returning to modern times & the Shawn that today’s WWE fans know let’s discuss the Superkick. As I mentioned it is a move that is overused it is generally giving to any wrestler when another finisher can’t be thought up. (See Chuck Palumbo & Steven Richards for example.) Overused or not Shawn’s version still excites every time I see it. This is mainly because it looks so different to any other version for a start there’s the version where he stamps his foot to get the crowd going, no other superkick is like this. Other than that it’s just the way he does it & the fact it can come from anywhere that makes this move stand out. The Game has the Pedigree which when done right looks great, but can all too often look silly if the camera angle is wrong and it is obvious that the opponents face has not hit the mat. Ah but let’s not get ahead of ourselves again, Hunter’s first move, and the move He thought Randy Orton incidentally, was the Blue Blood Cutter. Known simply as the B.B.C. (No not the station.) It looked exactly like the RKO and was a nice little move. The Pedigree of course is the move we all know and love and I like it a lot. It has a nice impact and as mentioned looks great when pulled off right. Winner: I do like the Pedigree a lot but really only the Superkick can win in this category. HBK (1) HHH (0) Promo ability: Shawn Michaels, well during his early years as a tag team face he rarely spoke but when he turned heel in 1992 his mic work was acceptably good. When he turned face again in the mid nineties he kept up the good work & was everything but outstanding on the Mic. Outstanding is something that soon caught up with him though & his work with DX was some of the best promo work, this side of Mick Foley, ever seen in a WWE ring. The standout promo for me & one of my all time favourite WWE promo's / skit's was the spoof of The Nation of domination. Shawn played the part of The Rock if memory recalls. (The other Dxer’s played the likes of Mark Henry & D’lo Brown.) This was easily the (intentionally) funniest thing to ever be seen in a WWE ring. As for His current and recent work as a once again DX member. Some of the spark seems to have gone but He still has the intensity when He needs it. HHH, see the comments about DX above. HBK in His DX days would be nothing if it wasn’t for HHH backing Him up and surpassing Him at times. Away from DX the original HHH was a blue blood who talked in a really posh voice and talked down to people. HHH pulled this off quite well but didn’t really have a whole lot to say in those days. His heel promos circ 2000 to 2005 meanwhile varied from been great, but sometimes at the expense of His opponent looking silly (see Booker T) to being long winded and slightly boring. He always delivers something worth hearing on the stick though. So we have established that both Men can talk, but which DX’er can out talk the other? Very tough call but I am going to give the nod to HHH. HBK(1) HHH(1) Gimmick: Yes the one area that can make or break a career in a company. Shawn had mostly played himself in the early days as a singles wrestler a slightly coc ky Texan heel & more to the point a ladies man. Other than in his DX days he has played that role ever since the only difference being that he was a slightly coc ky face rather than a heel & these days the ladies man part is played down. (He found something or other…) During his DX days he added another angle to his character, comedy. DX were involved in some of the funniest & often controversial angles of the time from showing up at a WCW event to the Cooking ahem wieners. 2002 to 5 Shawn still played himself although the comedy angle had long being dropped little else had changed. Since the DX reunion of course He is now once again Comedy induced. HHH debuted as mentioned above as a Blue Blood, William Regal alike snob. The character was good but HHH didn’t really suit it. Still He started to get over, more so as they downplayed this aspect and made Him more of a everyman character. Then of course came DX with HHH as HBK did playing an extension of Himself. For much of the 2000’s He played the killer Heel type that baby faces would try to knock off the top spot, only to usually fail. Or even if they succeeded it wouldn’t be for long. Now of course He is back to the fun loving playing Himself character. I can’t decide the winner here, and I don’t want a draw so a toss of the coin gives HHH the nod. HBK(1) HHH(2) Fan following: Hard category to pick a clear winner in because regardless of when each was heel or face the crowd loved them & / or loved to hate them. The chant so & so sucks should never be taking for real heel heat the chant is usually there because the crowd really do think the wrestler in question sucks. However when during his DX days the crowd chanted Shawn / Hunter sucks, & worse, it was because they were genuinely over as a hated heel not because the crowd thought they sucked. The same of course can be said of the singles heel time in the early nineties for HBK and this decade for HHH. HBK maybe has the edge because during his earlier days he was always slightly more popular than HHH was in His. Still during their run in 1997/8 when they were both headline faces in DX (ok so HHH was really an upper mid carder.) it really was impossible to tell which one had more fans just watch any show from the era again it’s impossible to tell who had more support in their co appearances. Still I think HBK has had more important & more headline money making matches, mind you even that’s debatable. Still HBK will get the nod here. HBK (2) HHH (2) Move sets & Basic in ring ability: Both are great wrestlers & both are capable of carrying a Rock (& I don’t mean Dwayne Johnson) to a good match. Only one of them can work a great technical match though. Looking at HHH first he had a selection of moves which he always used to tell a story in ring. He would always use the same moves to tell a story. Shawn meanwhile used slightly more highflying moves augmented with a basic move set. Both were just as capable of wrestling a brawling, speedy or hardcore style depending on the opponent(s) in question. Only HBK though can work a technical masterpiece. As yes the opponents HHH could have a good match with anybody half decent such as Kevin Nash & Henry Godwinn when giving an equally good opponent such as Benoit or HBK Himself was capable of 5 star matches every night. (His best match & one which most fans have long forgotten was against Owen Hart at WM.) Shawn too can work a good match with a lesser opponent he carried Sid for example to his best ever work. Just like the Game when paired with an anyway half decent opponent such as HHH Himself he can have a 5 star match seemingly without even trying. However & this will upset HHH fans on his off days (or year see 2003) HHH was no match for Shawn on his even fewer off days. HHH for example could not carry some opponents to a good match where as I believe Shawn could have with the same people. In other words I believe Shawn has being more consistent then HHH overall & Shawn deserves this category more than the Game for that one reason. Or does he? While Shawn might be better at carrying lesser talent is he better at having a good match with equally good talent? Did Shawn for example ever have a feud as good as HHH vs. Foley or HHH vs. Rock? Debatably I say he never had a feud as good as either so for that reason the Game should win. As this one is impossible to sort out I am going to give the nod to HHH, as I was always a bigger Game than HBK fan myself. HBK (2) HHH (3) The bottom line: The Bottom Line. So there you have it and as hard as it may be to accept HHH beats HBK overall, therefore HHH is the victor. It was not an easy desecion either Man could have won, and either would have deserved it. So thoughts, opinions, rebuttals?

It probably is for most real Aians. I was born in Korea, but spent all but 6 months in the states. My parents are caucasian (adopted) so I'm ignorant to their culture. I'm basically a white guy who just happens to be Asian (if that makes any sense). Makes sense to me. I know where you are coming from. Oh and about the repulsive / white woman predator thing. Again I can see where you are coming from. I only go for white men, to be honest I don't have interest in Chinese (or Asian) men. Oh and really guys I don't know why you get the impression that I ama gimmick poster. If I don't like something I will make a long post about it. (I don't do short posts often.) English is not my first language, so maybe my writings come across as... ...well maybe they just seem not quite correct to the eye. That's not the intention though. I really am trying to get valid views on subjects across.

Is there any point in having gimmicks at all these days? Is having a gimmick dead weight in 2009? Would you rather watch nothing but pure wrestling with maybe a storline but with no characters like Kane, Umaga, Abyss or even the Undertaker or would you rather have a mix of Angles and Punks & Boogeymen and Khalis? Now to a certain extent (almost) every wrestler has at least a basic gimmick but most don't let their career rest on it. Angle, Nash, Steiner, Cena, HHH, Orton and so on all have gimmicks but you just don't really notice most of the time because it's in the background. In wrestling past, but since WWE is my first love here in particular, there have been many gimmicks, some extremely stupid and some good but you all know that. Gimmicks no matter how massive they may seem grow stale after a time Taker, Sgt. Slaughter, Kane, Bradshaw (pre JBL), Mankind and even Hulk Hogan (Yes he was a gimmick The All American) all lived by a gimmick, but most outstayed their gimmick (& some were thankfully changed like Bradshaws.) Wrestling wouldn't be what it is or what it was without gimmicks like Hulkamania & Cenacrapola (The new official name for Cena's fan following) but at the same time Gimmicks only attract a certain type of fan the long term fans want real wrestling first & Gimmicks second. I do care in a way about gimmicks (almost) Everyone needs a gimmick. If everyone just showed up, got in the ring and wrestled it wouldn't be very entertaining for long. one could say even that would be boring No gimmick build up, no gimmick character devolopement, & possibly even no explaination for the match. I love gimmicks when they are done well it makes a wrestler more watchable Mankind for instance, if he had no gimmick back in the day, people would have said "Why does he do that stupid mouth thing (mandible claw)?" But with his character it makes sense because he was sadistic and 'mental' (at the beginning). There would be reason for much of anything in Pro wrestling / Sports Entertainment if not for the gimmicks. Yes, a lot of the time there are stupid ones, but there are also so many good ones to balance the equation. I am convinced People do enjoy characters, not just anonymous faces wrestling. So to answer my own question, yes even in 2009 having a Gimmick can still get you a long way.

Bret as a kid had no interest in wrestling indeed he had aspirations about being a film star & even movie Director. Of course as we all know that never happened & Bret entered the pro Wrestling world. Trained by his father the late Stu Hart Bret was already an accomplished Amateur wrestler. So it did not take much to train Bret in the legendary dungeon. Naturally Bret debuted in his father’s organisation Stampede pro wrestling in Canada. He made his debut way back in 1975 & formed a tag team with his brother Keith. They were a popular team & had a successful run in stampede & WWC in Mexico. Bret also had a successful solo feud with Dynamite Kid, which is still talked about today. Bret however did not like the feud as he thought their styles clashed. According to Dynamite's autobiography he went as far as to complain to Stu about the situation. However with his father's wishes, Stu knew Dynamite could teach him a thing or two, Bret continued the feud. Indeed Bret started adapting to Dynamite's hard-hitting style & has admitted he got to really enjoy the feud. This learning process took up a several years of Bret's life & by the time the singles & tag feuds ended it was late 1979. Bret went international in the early eighties accepting bookings in England, Germany & Japan, indeed for that matter anybody that would have him. He had his eyes set on one thing though working in America but that did not happen yet. Meanwhile he returned to Canada & stampede & by this point was something of a hometown hero. Bret & Dynamite wanted to feud one last time but wanted to do it in style so they invented a new & radical type of match, the ladder match. History* has lost the reason exactly how a ladder & wrestling came together. *their minds. Both men have stories that differ to each other; both however say Bret was the one who had the idea. According to Dynamite's story they were discussing how to end the feud & Bret almost walked under a ladder, the superstitious DK felt it was bad luck. This supposedly inspired the Hitman & he suggested the next day the concept of a ladder match. Hart on the other hand claims DK was not present when the idea came to him, he claims it was when he fell a couple of feet from a ladder in his house that he was inspired to create the ladder match. Either way the idea was really Stu Hart's who quickly warmed to the idea but had reservations that the fans would buy a match like this. He need not have worried the fans loved the series of ladder matches, something that was not lost on one Vince McMahon he filed the idea away for future use but he would forget about it & not use the idea for another decade. Bret Hart was now the top man in Stampede & was the North American champion on & off for the next few years. (NAHC) Vince McMahon however that perennial thorn in Bret's side was still keeping one eye on stampede. Vince wanted to dominate the American (& Canadian) scene & felt Stampede was one group (of man) that stood in his way, so he did what he did best he took out his chequebook. Although they had doubts about the decision Stu & Bret accepted a $1 million payoff & closed down Stampede wrestling much to the chagrin of Canadian fans. Bret & Dynamite also accepted big time WWE contracts. Dynamite was to be paired up The British Bulldog & Bret was pared with Jim Neidhart. The team of Neidhart & Hart was giving the name The Hart Foundation & caught on quickly with WWE fans. This is the point where your narrator actually Saw Bret for the first time watching WWF. Still catching on quick was not enough Vince made Bret start at the bottom & work his way up he jobbed for nearly a year. Then Vince decided The Bulldogs as Davey & Dynamite had become needed somebody as good a team for a feud & step up Bret & Jim. They fought for almost the whole year in 1986 in matches much loved & still talked about today. (probably) During the feud The Bulldogs became WWE champions when the won tag gold & the feud stepped up another notch. The date when Bret won WWE gold for the first time was January 26th 1987. Dynamite suffered a serious back injury not long before the title switch & knew he did not have much left in him, foolishly though he decided to stick around & we all know the rest. He paid for it. At WM III the feud picked up another notch, WWE Ref Danny Davis, much like Nick Patrick would years later in NWO, sided with the heels & aided them whenever he could. The three man the heart's & Danny upset The Bulldogs & Tito Santana at WM when the won their tag match. For the next ten months the foundation saw off title challenges from all of WWE's top tag teams (& the Killer Bees ahem). WWE however had a new team in town & they went straight to the top. The team was Strike Force Tito Santana & Rick Martel who won the belts sometime around October 1987 when Neidhart submitted. Still a heel Bret entered a stunning performance en route to being eliminated in the first Rumble match in 1988. Then in a battle royal at WM IV Bret turned face when he attacked Bad News Brown. The hart foundation then had a series of forgettable matches with Heel tag champions Demolition but did not win the gold back yet. In 1990 the finally beat the champions in a best of three falls at Summerslam 1990. Vince knew something we did not though, Vince knew Bret was ready for the big one The World Title. However Vince was not one to rush things back then so he wanted to test him as IC champ first. In Early 1991 the foundation parted ways & Bret was staring at the glass ceiling alone. For the next five months Bret warmed up for his IC title feud with champion Curt Henning & at Summerslam of that year they had their match. Entering stunning performances both men turned it up a notch & sure enough Curt submitted to the Sharpshooter & as he had being promised Bret was now IC champion. His reign sadly was not as memorable as he faced no hopers like Mike Rotunda, The Warlord & Skinner & The Mountie. Indeed it was the Later The Mountie who pinned Bret for his title & on a house show as well. Quickly switching the title to Roddy Piper at the Rumble 1992 WWE planned a dream match between Bret & Roddy. As dream matches go it turned out pretty well & the two had a very good match at WM VIII with Bret once again winning the title. His reign was to be a short one however as WWE had already decided that he was indeed to be a world champion and soon. So he dropped the IC title to Davey Boy in another stunning match at Summerslam 1992. It seemed Bret could do no wrong at this point in his career & that did not change anytime soon. Hart had to wait another Two months to win the title but in Canada of all places Hart pinned Ric Flair & became WWE's number one man for the first time. Something went wrong though attendances were dropping & Vince choose Hart as a scapegoat so he re hired Hulk Hogan & at WM IX after Hart dumped the title to Yokozuna our friend Hulk pinned Yoko. Hulk being Hulk of course quickly fell out with Vince & quit only 4 months later giving the title back to Yoko in the process. Actually Vince requested that Bret be the one that pin Hulk but Hogan told Vince that no way in hell was that going to happen. (Bret still refuses to talk to Hogan because of this BTW.) WWE instead threw Hart a KOTR bone shaped nugget. He rolled Over Razor Ramon in a very good match, Curt Henning in a 5 star classic & Bam Bam Bigelow in a fairly good match & was crowned first ever (on screen) KOTR champion. The next feud also started the same night that other King Jerry Lawler took exception to Bret's ‘king’ name & attacked him. The feud was very well received & indeed was the best feud of 1993 by a country mile. It never ended though as Lawler was fired in late 1993. (He was accused of raping a young girl who later admitted she had made the whole thing up. That is another tale.) WWE needed a new feud & quickly so they choose Bret's brother Owen. In a perfectly worked feud Bret & Owen slowly fell apart & that led to a Brother VS Brother WM match. In a shocking turn Owen pinned his brother Bret in a classic mat wrestling show off match. Bret however was not leaving WM X empty handed Vince had big plans for him. Bret & Lex Luger had jointly won the Rumble match so both got shots at Yokozunas title. Lex lost his match but Bret pinned blubber boy to win his second World title. At Summerslam he had a well recieved and very enjoyable fued ending cage match with Owen. Not long after Bret then entered a feud with WWE's new star heel Kevin Nash. First in a title Vs title match IC champ Nash beat Bret by DQ & then at Survivor Series Bob Backlund made Bret submit & we had a new champion. That new champion was not Backlund he lost his title 1 day later to Nash. For reasons unknown WWE decided Nash would not pin Bret. Nash bombed as a champ but a desperate Vince (this was WWE's slowest drawing period ever to date) kept him as a champ regardless. At least until Vince saw the light & decided Nash sucked as a Champ so Shawn Michaels was groomed as the next champion. Vince did not want a Nash Michaels feud however so Bret won the title back from Nash & then dropped it to Shawn at WM XII in as iron man match, the match itself was Bret's worst in years & he decided to take some time off. He took a whole Six months off partly to rest & partly to act. (He stared in several films.) WCW offered him a large contract in late 1996 & Hart turned it down but told them he might reconsider, he of course would. Before that though came a Feud with Steve Austin & what a feud. Starting at Survivor Series 1996 in a good match & taking in WM with their classic blood soaked match this was Bret's best feud of his singles career so far. At WM Hart also turned Heel again & so started the Canadian VS American feud. With Jim, Bulldog & Owen they formed The New Hart foundation & fought the American superstars such as Undertaker & Steve Austin. The Ten-man match at IYH Canadian stampede was the highlight of this feud. The foundation & Brian Pillman were the firm fan favourites (It was Canada) & they beat Austin, Goldust & LOD (& somebody else I forget who for now.) Shortly after that in August Bret pinned World champ Undertaker to win another world title. Then it started to go downhill, Vince demanded Bret take a $10 thousand per week pay cut. Bret obviously said hell no & with Vince Ms Satan's blessing (It was Vince's suggestion) Bret talked with WCW. Three months later Bret agreed to a WCW deal but before he left he still had a title to dump. We all know what happened next but just to remind you here goes. Bret refuses to lose the title in Canada at Survivor Series but said he would lose in America instead. Vince along with Earl Hebner & Shawn Michaels of course saw to it that Bret would, & did lose the title at SS. Bret then went ballistic & among other things spat at Jerry Lawler & Vince & then backstage attacked Vince. Bret would never to date step into a WWE ring again. He did of course work the WWE HOF event and helped with his DVD. Bret joined WCW as a face & feuded with Ric Flair & Randy Savage at first. Turning Heel he joined the NWO but seemed to get lost in the mix. He did manage to win Three US titles but that was just a stop gap solution everybody knew the world title was what he really wanted. It was strange though Bret was not the Bret of past his matches generally were boring partly due to the way he was booked & partly because he seemed to be losing interest. He was put into a feud with Goldberg but a Goldberg groin injury scuppered that plan. Two weeks later Bret got the worst news of his life, His Brother Owen had died. Bret seriously considered retiring in the wake of this news & that is more than understandable. However in September five months later he returned to WCW. In October he captured the world title from Chris Benoit in a stunning match, here at last was the Bret Hart of old. But in December he suffered a serious head injury in a match with Goldberg & that was it he never did wrestle again. He suffered several further setbacks since. For one he strongly dislikes today's the stunt aspect that takes up some of today's wrestling he wants story wrestling to be at the forefront of any wrestling company and all matches. Both of his parents have passed away in the last (few) years. Then of course there was the second concussion & temporary paralysis in a bike accident. Still the Hitman has overcome these bumps in the road of life & has even talked to Vince several times. Neither he nor Vince have completely forgiven each other for SS 1997 (Both feel they were right) but have at least Got Bret to appear for the HOF. Will Bret Hart appear at WM or any time in a WWE ring again to say farewell? Everybody wants it to happen but I think the HOF speech is the closest thing we will ever get.

Zzzz, sorry what. Oh that was just me going to sleep and waking up all of a sudden. Anything to do with Chris Jericho in ring does that to me these days. You see Raw was meant to get a shot in the arm with Jericho's return. It was all meant to be the best thing since sliced bread. The hype was "off the chart" but then what?* Then Chris returned and... ...well here is what I think of Jericho. *Actually it was good but not as good as some would have. This is what I think Chris Jericho: **** off back to your band or change your ways. Personally I am always in Two minds about Chris Jericho firstly I have no respect for the man (not the wrestler mind the real life man) I will explain why in a moment. That said I also (usually) enjoy his Promos, actually they can be fantastic. As his war of words with the legends shows. His matches though, he can’t go 2 matches with out blowing more spots than a Diva. His matche(s) with Jeff Hardy and JBL for example reminded me of why I dislike him. Jericho when he wants to be is one of the top 5 men in WWE he has had more than his fair share of 5 star feuds particularly with Chris Benoit, (Yeah I said his name) HBK & Christian. That said he is not (always) capable of carrying opponents who are not as good as him or who work styles who clash with him. As far as the former goes He couldn’t drag a good feud out of Sean Waltman, mind you few could at that period of Waltman‘s career. As for the latter his feuds with several people who clashed with him most notable being Kane & William Regal were very boring & seemed to drag on forever. When booked with the right opponent though as I said he is never less than highly entertaining. Now as for the main reason why I don’t respect him very much it’s really simple the man can’t take criticism & won’t except that his matches are not always ‘great’. Case in point he has on more than one occasion done a shoot interview on the fans, especially the internet fans when they are disappointed with one of his matches. In Jericho’s mind he never has an off night that is quite clear. Enough bashing though instead let’s explain what role I think Jericho should be playing in WWE today. It’s really rather simple the role he should be playing is the one he played at the end of his first WWE(f) run. Putting other main eventers over while staying at the bottom of the upper mid carders / lower main eventers. The reason I say that is because he is not really good enough to carry a show, true he is a superb talker & a good wrestler but he proved in his one title reign that he can’t carry a show nor it’s title. The IC title gained some much needed prestige under Jeff and to a lesser extent Umaga’s reigns a while back. (It is still not defended enough but is at least on champions who are entertaining. Yes including JBL.) I hope Jericho can continue this and keep up the good name of the Title. No doubt many people here will loudly & happily disagree with all or some of the above, but take a step back for a minute & think about what you are going to say when replying to this thread. “You suck, Jericho is cool.” that would be an atypical reply by some, it would also be pointless instead take my main points (Jericho is not main event material, Jericho is not capable of carrying a lesser wrestler, Jericho blows moves far too often & lastly Jericho is an egomaniac to be exact) & counter argue or agree with them in a logical way that’s all I ask of anybody who replies to this.

First and for no reason other than I am bored a history lesson for those not familiar with the early career of Kane. The Seven lives of Glen Jacobs, & that is indeed an apt title as the big man now known as Kane has had more chances than most to make it in the big time. Here is the story of what came before Kane. Glen began life as ‘Doomsday’ in Puerto Rico back in 1994 & he spent his first year there. At the same time he spent some time on the US Indy scene & it was here Jim Cornette ‘discovered him’. February 1995 & rechristned Unabomb Glen made his Smokey Mountain Wrestling debut for Cornette. Thrown into a tag team with Al Snow they quickly won the tag gold from the past it team of Rock & Roll express. Tracy Smothers & Tony Anthony grabbed the gold back after 3 months. After several months of floundering around in mid card hell, which included a loss to The Undertaker at Superbowl of wrestling, Glen got a try out with WWE. Glen made his vignette debut in July of 1995 so when he had a loser leaves town match with Smothers & Anthony it was no surprise when he lost the match. (Incidentally only the loser left town so Snow stuck around.) What role had Jacobs got? What was his ticket to the big time? Isaac Yankeem Twisted dentist & madman who was supposedly working for Jerry ‘king’ Lawler. Ok so this was a set back but Glen could make something of this dull role right? Vinny Mac sure thought so he was pushed straight into a feud with the best, Bret Hart. The match took place at Summerslam 1995, & it stunk not even Hart could pull a good match out of Jacobs this early in his carer. Even Vince knew better than to continue this big man push. Vince McMahon was desperate during these times but even he was not that desperate. At Survivor Series the man who would play a big part in his future, The Undertaker, Eliminated him in an 8-man contest. That was that for Jacobs on PPV. In rapid succession Hart, Ahmed Johnson, Bob Holly & even Henry Godwinn pinned him in IYH & Raw dark matches. When he appeared on TV again in Sep 1996 it was with a new & improved role. This role would prove to be bitter sweet for our man however. Vince McMahon lost 2 main eventers in Scott Hall & Kevin Nash to WCW. Their characters Razor Ramon & Diesel had being way over so what did Vince do pretend they had never left. Glen was now ‘Diesel II & Rick Bogner was Razor II & were the fans ever insulted. Attempting with absolute no success to also turn Jim Ross heel as their manager of sorts they bombed. The fans did not give a rat's ass they knew a cheap imitation when they saw one. Still Vince was determined to make something of the situation. They appeared in an 8 man at the survivor series 1996 ppv bout that ended in one of those deeply annoying no finish situations when both teams got DQ'ed. At IYH it's time one month later the duo got a tag title shot & promptly were shown how to wrestle on route to being squashed by the late Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith. Come the Rumble & the push was stalling for ‘Hall’ who was quickly eliminated. Glen as Nash fared a little better & was one of the final 5 in the rumble Bret Hart ousted him. That was that Vince realised he had screwed up & sent them both packing to AAA in Mexico. Glen was once again Doomsday in AAA & also in USWA. It was here that he got his first H/W title winning the USWA belt. With two shockingly awful roles in the WWE he would never get another chance right? Wrong Vince McMahon never gives up on a man the size of Glen Jacobs. The Undertaker had become somewhat stale so Vinny Mac decided to introduce a brother for the deadman to feud with. Kane was to be this brother & Glen had just the right looks so the role was his. We all know what happened next Jacobs appeared in the first HIAC match & attacked Undertaker. The duo would feud & tem for the next 5 years. He also managed to bag a one-day title run by shockingly beating Austin in a first Blood match. I am not going to go into great detail aout the rest of his WWE career, everybody knows what happened next. Endless matches with undertaker, unmasking, Dull stuff with Snitskey yada yada. So let me instead get to the point of the thread, what next for Kane? I think maybe a face turn. The fans seemed ready to cheer him again as of late, last few weeks anyway so I think this could work. A move bask to SD and fresh fights with Face HHH or maybe Edge would also be a good thing. Maybe freshen up the character a little as well. Give him a new enterence or new music maybe. Anything really as he is stale as week old bread. If WWE don't want to go the face all the way at least still change something about his character. Make his gimmick slightly different. Maybe the angry giant who doesn't know his own strenght? Or possibly try some comedy. Kane has done comedy before and it was very funny. (remember the Rock and Hogan impressions?) Either way do something and do it quick before the little fan support he has left vanishes. __________________

Yeah, yeah, yeah we all know the joke about MSG. It seems to be the in thing to pretend Kevin Nash is some sort of god, or genius or even an athlete. Take it from me none of the above is true. Ok so he is has being funny and or entertaining in TNA, to a point anyway, but really who cares? Kevin Nash is the most boring man on the planet, nay the universe It is a puzzle I have long tried to decipher, why does Nash get chance after chance when he is a walking colossal bore. Will we never be rid of the wolrd's least intresting wrestler. (WCW first run Unfunny and can't act at all can't wrestle. WWF run Unfunny and can't act at all and can just about wrestle. WCW second run as WWF. WWE run the same. TNA run Funny all of a sudden and still can't act. What little wrestling ability there was long gone.) Um sorry if this sounds like a character assassination, but that is the idea. Sure other wrestlers have outstayed their welcome or keep popping up for one more pay day. (Hello Mr Hogan, Mr Foley.) Most of them though can still put on a good or at least fair show. Nash has never put on a good show, at least not where it counts most. Fan support and numbers. WWE (F), WCW and TNA have all tried to turn him into a dollar sign and all have failed, Nash just can't draw when it counts. Let's turn the clock back for a minute and look at his WWF World title run in 1994. He held the title for a long time and faced some good opponents. (Bret, HBK and um Mabel well ok not all good.) Did he draw a dime? No and while some of the matches looked good it was mostly his opponent who made him look good. As they say it takes two to tango and logic says Nash must have done some of the work but even the man himself has admitted to his shortcomings in these matches. For example on the HBK from the vault DVD. He had and has basic if any ring skills and moved like a tortise. Now I love basic brawlers, but even I draw the line somewhere. He also couldn't emote to save his life, one of the few areas he has improved a bit at least he can cut a average promo now. Nash is now about 48 years old and if anything is even less mobile than ever, injuries ensure that. It's an in joke that every Nash match may have him suffer an injury for no apparent reason. Or it was in his WWE run anyway. Joke it may be but he has suffered injuries for no reason in particular before. Look at his 'comeback' in 2003 he had a seriously dull run as the Number One contender to HHH (Who was himself having a bad year) and suffered injuries seemingly at random. (Six Knee injuries a Quad tear and a biceps rapture.) This makes me ponder just what in the hell he was even doing in a ring in 2003, or now. He should retire for his body alone. Lest we forget though in wrestling, more in WWE than TNA but still both, if you can cut a good scripted promo and can at least punch and kick other shortcomings will be ignored. However, and comedy, aside has Nash even had one interview / angle / talking segment other than comedy which was good or even passable? In WWF he was kept far away from the mic and got over because of his 'talent'. (size, power and not a lot else.) This was a good idea. In WCW he mostly stood around looking vaguely intresting and had cool hair. Hall and Hogan did the talking and all the better. This, again, was a good idea. His Solo efforts post NWO in WCW and WWE showed a man who didn't care and did not want to better himself. Getting away from the talking I seriously do not understand ,giving the lack of overall talent, why Nash always gets another chance. Well actually I do Nash bends bookers to his point of view, he manipulates them. He treats peers as somebody to use and he regularly disses anybody who opposes his views. (He also disses the business publicly.) Somehow the bookers fall for this time and again. By now you are probably thinking boy I really hate Kevin Nash, or have a chip on my shoulder, or am just ranting about hating him. You're wrong I love him in fact. I was a huge Diesel mark and NWO mark and despite the fact he never lived up to the hype I always enjoyed a Nash match. His role in TNA meanwhile really suits his (lack of) talents and is one of the companies better non home grown assets. So long live Kevin Nash the most boring entertainer you will ever see. It's still neither big nor funny to pretend to like him though.

Asian horror films, is there any horror films more creepy, or are they just copycat films full of long haired girl ghosts. Well let us have a quick look through some of the more famous, some only in Asia some in the West also, Asian horror films that are not just copycat films. Even if some of them do feature long haired girl ghosts. Warning contains plot spoilers in some cases. Warning contains no mention of films like The grudge, Ringu, the phone, shutter and the like. Well let's start with a J- horror film which did not follow the usual J-horror pattern. NOROI THE CURSE. The movie opens with a narrator describing a famous paranormal expert Masafumi Kobayashi (Hiroshi Aramata). It mentions he has vanished without a trace while making a film based on his experiences. The movie really begins with Kobayashi's investigation of a woman named Junko Ishii and her unnamed son, brought about when Kobayashi was contacted by her next-door neighbor. The first hour then describes, or more accurately depicts many, many unrelated events. Another vanishing person, a child who is psychic, then another a TV personality. A mass suicide and many more. These events have no connection to each other... ...Then the second hour, an actual hour as this film is two hours, all the events become linked by a creature called Kagutaba. All the threads slowly become interwoven. The movie has the tagline "Everybody dies". They do, well almost. What is so different about all this you may well be asking by now? Well the fact that it is filmed only with a DV, cloverfield, camera for one. (Before cloverfield I may add, 2 years before.) Also the fact there is no girl ghosts, long haired or otherwise. Moving on to a film that does feature a long haired girl ghost, albeit not the type you would usually see. Well ok it is exactly the type but never the less done with a new slant. Let's examine Ekusute (Hair Extentions). Yes a film about killer hair extentions. Let us assume for a second that hair extensions could carry the memories of its previous owner. Now let us further assume said owner died with a 'grudge', as in Ju-On. Well that is this film. A dead body of a girl is found head shaved, with the missing hair nearby. The story deals with two strange characters a creepy morgue worker Yamazaki (Ren Osugi), who steals the body and Yuko (Chiaki Kuriyama) a trainee hair stylist. Sounds like JU-ON but with added killer hair right? Well no as this is as much a comedy film as it is horror. Very dark comedy mind, played mostly straight but obviously humorous. Speaking of laughs, this brings us to HAPPINESS OF THE KUTAKURIS, quite possibly the only Zombie musical love story ever. Not so fast though first let us discuss the quiet family. Choyonghan kajok (The quiet family) A Korean family decides to buy a lodge in a remote area, remote but popular with hikers and day trippers. However the customers keep dying in unusual ways. Nothing to do with the family, but they decide to hide the bodies not report the deaths. Black comedy ensues as they try to keep the death secret, and keep the customers coming. HAPPINESS OF THE KUTAKURIS meanwhile is a fairly bonkers Japanese remake with added zombies and music. The original was dark comedy, but still at least plausible. HOTK meanwhile has musical numbers, random animated stop motion scenes, dancing zombies and much more. Next is JU - REI which is really just a story about a long haired girl ghost. Ju -Rei is a Japanese Horror. Over the years, whispered rumors of a black-hooded killer have filled the hallways of a quiet high school and had the students in a constant state of nervous fear. When the young girls of the school begin to die at an alarming rate after seeing a mysterious cloaked figure, it appears as if the rumors have finally come to life. Predictable yes? Well yes, but for the fact the entire story is told backwards. The irreversible of horror films. Japan can also do Dracula. EVIL OF DRACULA to be exact. At an all girls boarding school (naturally) the principal is Dracula. Only the new professor can stop him. A pretty good Japanese take on the whole vampire myth I thought. Also worth a look are: Whispering corridors series. WHISPERING CORRIDORS WHISPERING CORRIDORS II: Memento Mori WHISPERING CORRIDORS III: Wishing Stairs WHISPERING CORRIDORS IV: Voice Letter That deal with dead students haunting Korean schools. Some have long hair. Who’s that knocking at my door? K-Horror.2007. a young loner, Je-hwi was tormented by a classmate named Pyo in high school. Now a young adult, Je-hwi begins to open up after meeting Jang-hee, his girlfriend. However, a revenge plot he had hatched against Pyo with a stranger he met over the internet begins to grow way out of control, with cruel and unpredictable results. The Host Korean monster movie, with dark comedy undertones. The Shutter Thai film the horror begins when Thun, a young photographer and his girlfriend, Jane, accidentally hit a woman while driving. They decide to leave the dead woman and drive away. Later, Thun discovers an unexplained event when he finds a mysterious shadow appears on his photo. Does feature a Girl ghost yes, but also features other ghosts. I could go on but risk boring you. Suffice to say if you are bored of good but photocopy Asian horror films like Pon (Phone), JU-ON, (The Grudge) Dark Water and Ringu (The ring) there is still a lot of choice out there for you.
