A decent point against the league leaders that could certainly have been a loss. Bullen is playing out of skin at the moment!

The Alan Partridge comparison was way off. Partridge wasn't an asshole to everyone, only his assistant Lynne and Michael, who he could exploit. His emotional collapse when in a real world situation or around strangers was the funny part, cos it knocked down this desperate mini-empire he'd created after his career collapsed. Crucially, David Brent's character depends on his unfailing ability to have the last word and turn arguments his way with his cringeworthy management-speak rhetoric. The two shows were in big competition at one stage, one after the other in the schedule, which led to them being faced off against eachother in the public eye, but they're very different shows. Alan Partridge's character evolution from The Day Today, To Knowing Me Knowing You, to I'm Alan Partridge is something that's often ignored, I think.

'Thank God Its Not Christmas' by Sparks, and Shakin' Stevens.

Obviously i found the American version kind of embarassing, but it was ok in itself. I intensely disliked both My Name Is Earl and Arrested Development. Curb Your Enthusiasm is the last US comedy I really enjoyed. That pretty much includes movies as well, as I don't get the appeal of Ferrell, Black et al either.

Nakamura's got pretty much the best left foot in the world, I reckon. Stunning.

Pere Ubu - 'Over My Head'

Would like to have seen Sparks the last time my lot went, just because one of the cunts got Ron Mael's raincoat when he threw it into the crowd.

I'm currently typing on a fresh keyboard, as I awoke to find a mysterious liquid all over my old one. Well, less mysterious now the smell has installed itself properly at my desk. This kind of thing happened a couple of years ago with a drawer full of clothes, then an amplifier. They survived though. I'm such a drunken twat.

3-1 isn't bad for 9 men I suppose. Not looking forward to Cardiff or West Brom though, so I would have rather got something out of that game going in to a couple we'll probably lose (esp without brunt OR small) Bullen can't fill in on both wings! He actually got sent off last time he played wide right as well....

So who stinks up the bathroom in your house?

Not an issue that's been brought to a roundtable discussion yet, but I think the four of us have all been guilty at some stage. We had a spray air freshener in there for a while, for afterwards. -
Thoughts on last night are a resounding 'feh', but then that's England and me, never quite got on. Robinson has made enough errors now to warrant sticking someone else in for the next friendly, certainly. I care not for Andrew Johnson on the right. I suppose he should be kind of grateful to be there in the first place.

Camera Obscura - Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken. I'm so gay, but fuck yeah.

90s eh? Why not. The first that come into my head: 1. Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs 2. Pulp - Different Class 3. Tindersticks - Tindersticks (2nd album) 4. Tom Waits - Bone Machine 5. Wedding Present - Seamonsters On another day, In The Aeroplane... and an Afghan Whigs one would likely be in there. I hadn't realised how many of my favourites were from the 90s actually.

CRUNK is great.

He has a point though. As a CAW fan, I'm a tad livid, but I'll only ever play it on my brother's console at home so I don't need to spend cash on it. A plus.

Didn't see the Ipswich game, but Bullen got man of the match at centre half, which is nice, and our other one Bougherra scored. We kept Alan Lee in check which is pretty encouraging. Not sure how much Crossley had to do, but it's an away clean sheet and you get the impression he wants to be here infinitely more than Brad Jones did.
-
Oh fuck, forgot about that. I wasn't keen on some of the stuff they had on myspace, but I liked Animal Lover more than most, so I'm sure I'll check it out. I was resigned to thinking Demons Dance Alone would be the last really really good thing they did, but you never know.

I've not heard much...to be honest Sharp's the only one I know from Scunthorpe. Transfers are pretty much off limits anyway, the chairman had to dig into his own pocket to fund Sam's month long loan, we've literally got nothing. That said, with Tudgay and Burton clicking again, the keeper was the only area that needed filling. The squad's alright really, now the customary injury torrent is over.

Currently on a decent rioja. I have a glass that holds a whole bottle, it was a much appreciated gift.
-
Fantastic. There's supposedly a 'gentlemen's agreement' about not taking Billy Sharp. Bugger. If we had any money I'd advocate being ungentlemanly. We've got the 58 year old Mark Crossley on loan, but he can sort a defence out and knows Laws from Forest, so I'll take him over Brad Jones.

I'm glad the discussion about favourite modes and time signatures was interspersed with 'Duran Duran was fucking awesome live'. It kept us on track.
-
The turnaround is complete. I still don't listen to them religiously, but I like pretty much all the stuff I didn't previously.
-
I began mainly on Australian reds, for whatever reason. I'm now siding with rioja rather than shiraz which seems to be the more commonly available from that part of the globe, so its usually spanish or chilean now. I drink a fair bit but i won't pretend to know anything more than that.

Four home wins in an effing row! Tudgay and Burton are finally linking up like they did at the end of last season. I am happy. Fucking Leeds are still Fucking Shite as well! Yay!
