  2. Why is that match a secret?
  3. Welsh people really shouldn't form bands. Just when the Lost Prophets fell off the radar...

Time to send the tykes back where they came from. Hate them. Let's give them an absolute kicking, eh?
  5. OK who rated this as 5 stars? I don't have time to burn, fellas.
  6. The new Beck can fuck ri-hi-hi-hight off. (I didn't buy it)
  7. Having not worked for the guy, I am saddened by his death.
  8. ha, 9. And I think I've been twice.

mark fucking crossley! Superb stuff. Nice to have a keeper who would run up for a corner whilst barely being able to stand through injury, and you know, wants to play for the club. Fuck right off and good fucking riddance, Bradley Jones. Edit: Away at Stoke. Would certainly take a draw, esp coming off our most heroic yet worst performance under Laws.
  10. We pointed out citing lyrics in this manner is not a valid point against a song's worth about two years ago.
  11. Meeting up for drinks this evening with the people I worked with in the summer. I'm going to try my utmost to get some of them out of the perfectly odious bar where they're planning to start. I really really fucking hate that place, and plus it's surrounded by more decent venues. I'm meeting up with a different (better) crowd in a club later anyway.
  12. Mods: Close good threads while we're still ahead. We've proved ourselves incapable of sustaining goodness for over 10 pages anymore.
  13. Forgot Return to the Sea! And I heard a bit of the new Tool, suffice to say it sounded like a band doing an impression of Tool. Not good.
  14. I wasn't particularly impressed by Lady Sovereign, but she's better than Lily Allen. Good God, she's the absolute worst.
  15. Rey's a tad high as well, that's the first thing that strikes me about it.
  16. This is indeed the first year I've been able to name ten (even eleven) in a while.
  17. It's a snake that ate a crocodile that was a bit big, and then it split open.
  18. Aha, missed Jarvis. Bugger.
  19. 1. Scritti Politti - White Bread, Black Beer 2. Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit 3. Mission of Burma - The Obliterati 4. TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain 5. Andrew WK - Close Calls With Brick Walls 6. Sparks - Hello Young Lovers 7. Morrissey - Ringleader of the Tormentors 8. Pere Ubu - Why I Hate Women 9. Killing Joke - Hosannas From the Basements of Hell 10. Cansei De Ser Sexy - Cansei De Ser Sexy I think that's about right, though I'm sure I've missed a couple. I'm certain of the top 2, at any rate.

    The Cure.

I like 'Plainsong' among others on there, but yes, I get sick of Disintegration by the end. They had enough good songs to warrant recommendation.
  21. I'll never love the Stones either.
  22. Still don't quite get Sonic Youth. Since the time of this thread, I've turned around on Talking Heads quite a bit.

Madjid 'Magic' Bougherra is amazing. Sturrock is rumoured to have revealed he's off to a prem team for £2m at a recent charity event.

A decent point against the league leaders that could certainly have been a loss. Bullen is playing out of skin at the moment!
  25. The Alan Partridge comparison was way off. Partridge wasn't an asshole to everyone, only his assistant Lynne and Michael, who he could exploit. His emotional collapse when in a real world situation or around strangers was the funny part, cos it knocked down this desperate mini-empire he'd created after his career collapsed. Crucially, David Brent's character depends on his unfailing ability to have the last word and turn arguments his way with his cringeworthy management-speak rhetoric. The two shows were in big competition at one stage, one after the other in the schedule, which led to them being faced off against eachother in the public eye, but they're very different shows. Alan Partridge's character evolution from The Day Today, To Knowing Me Knowing You, to I'm Alan Partridge is something that's often ignored, I think.
