Downloaded it the other day. I like. Fuzzy stuff.

Aw, we have the same two favorite KC albums now! I was Starless for a while but Red won. Beatles vs. Boss...can't think of anything Springsteen would win for me, except for the fact that he did anthemic windows-down or slightly drunk music way better than they did ("Born to Run" being the most obvious example). For me, I know I've left a lot of Beatles on the shelf in this just because I've kind of burnt them out in my head. Almost for the same reason Gene is passing on Sabbath--note for note, I know them perfectly, so maybe I want to fill this list of 20 with some of the more experimental growers in my collection. At this point, I've already lost half of what would normally fall in my top-20 of all time, so it's getting to be more about things I love but haven't been focused on since I was 12.

Kiss gave us the videos for "Lick It Up" and "Who Wants to Be Lonely," so they can't be all bad.

    Nas fans...

    Me too!

    Atmosphere

Atmosphere may be my least favorite rap act.

I'm getting a really good image of you awkwardly pushing a car into the living room, with extreme satisfaction.

    State of the Folder

That's the only thing you should do. Anything else would be pretty unnecessary.

I only take the metro to work because driving in and around D.C. in the morning is nuts. At that point, the metro is infinitely more convenient. I guess that makes me still an asshole.

The answer? In the winter: a scarf or mask, I guess a warm jacket (but not too warm), earmuffs, gloves. That's all you need. I've been out in 20ºF weather. Stay off the snow and watch out for ice. Fenders. Rain? shorts you can change out of, maybe a coat with a hood, FENDERS. Fenders make the biggest difference in inclimate weather. You're very rarely cold on a bike, except maybe your fingers or face. Got it. I'll stick with the car for that.

    NBA Playoffs 2008 - Round 1

Well, I meant driving drunk, not the actual act of getting a DUI. I could definitely fill the list with "raping a XXX" or "murdering an xxx" or "putting it in the xxx when she wasn't inviting you to," but I was thinking more generally. I caught snippets of most of the games this weekend. No real reason to think the favorites aren't going to pull out all the series at this point, though I think Phoenix has a really good shot against the Spurs.

Ooh, that's a killer pick. Grumpy Agent on the horizon.

    NBA Playoffs 2008 - Round 1

I'll remember that if people start complaining about the Hornets fans chanting "Dirk's a pussy" tomorrow night. "Dirk's a pussy" would be pretty garden variety, though. Carmelo's a douche specifically for driving drunk, so you've got 1) a specific incident to mock, and 2) just cause in doing it, since being in situation where you can get a DUI is probably one of the top-10 asshole things you can do. I would have been kinda disappointed in Lakers fans had they not used it.

Yeah with a new market you need something exciting to draw the people in. The moving vans would be pulling up in 5 years if the Bucks came to OKC. They had Chris Paul before he was MVP-candidate Chris Paul, though. As in, really good, but not best point guard in the league good. Oklahoma has zero pro teams, so won't any basketball team they get be embraced as the only game in town? I know OU/OSU sports rule now, but the pro game draws a different kind of fan and market.

I got an 88 walk score. Seems pretty accurate--I'm 2 blocks from a metro, a mile from my preferred grocery store, four blocks from another, and have tons of restaurants and specialty stores within a mile or two. I still use my car plenty, though, simply for convenience's sake. Metroing or walking to a given restaurant takes 20 minutes, but sometimes I just want or need to get there in 5. So what's the answer to "you should use a bike" in the winter, or when it's raining, etc.? Is there a solution as goofy as a recumbent tricycle?

    Fuck Apple

Make a tech support appointment and take it to an Apple store. They might be able to help you. I was initially surprised to read that Time Machine backups don't create a file you can use on a different computer, but then again, AAC doesn't play on a Zune.

He's a superstar player and he's incredibly good, and they are largely his gang of idiots. After the big midseason trade, he ended up with some different idiots. What else needs to be said? Orlando pouring on the points in the first quarter here. Only a couple from Dwight Howard, but he just logged his 3rd block after just 9 minutes. Seeing him smack something 20 feet is one of the small pleasures of today's NBA. Edit: 9 first quarter 3s! Ridonkulous.

Doolittle?! Fuck, I'm gonna have to finally buy this whenever that comes.

    Talk About Power-Pop

I have little to no experience listening to Big Star, but I too like "Alex Chilton" more than most songs in general. Tough competition.

I always saw that album used in college, but never thought about buying it because the cover was so retarded. Maybe I can download it and just not affix album art.

Hover over "beyond RZA's dystopian street dirge" and you'll get it. And good pick. That album would be pretty scary to be alone with all the time. Very claustrophobic, and quite the air of casual menace. I think I might listen to that tonight.

"Anywhere I Lay My Head" sounds like a way more enthusiastic "Song to the Siren" by This Mortal Coil. And yeah, these are way better than I expected them to be. Anyone use muxtape regularly? I haven't explored it much. Seems like something that will blow up huge in about a year once it gets a little attention.

See, this is why not making copies of them was one of the worst decisions of my life. I never really warmed up to Fastball, though I remember seeing the video for "The Way" endlessly. 1997-1998 was a strange period during which I watched an inordinate amount of VH1 and MTV.

I pump my fist a bit whenever "Interstate Love Song" comes on.

You can send playlists with seeqpod?! I clearly did not read the FAQ. That's awesome. "Never Let You Go" is a little gem. Third Eye Blind is probably the late 90s alt-rock afterthought whose singles I feel least guilty about enjoying. I think it only extends to the singles, though--they have this one song called "Motorcycle Drive-By," which I remember only because one of the guys I lived with first year of college used to sing it really loudly and enthusiastically while we were playing Soul Calibur in his room. Later, we found webcam movies of his terrifyingly pale girlfriend stripping for him, incredibly slowly and dispassionately. Not putting them on a CD and blackmailing him with them was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. "Motorcycle Drive-By" still isn't a very good song, despite all that.
