HAH! Give me a break. If anyone bothered watching the game, they would've seen how horrible Maddox looked. Despite the fact that the Ravens had 8 men in the box every play of the first half, Maddox couldn't find a hot read to save his life. Nearly every sack he took, there was a man open. The reason Maddox looks so terrible is that he's tentative; he holds onto the ball at least a second longer than he should, and that's the sign of a quarterback that lacks confidence. It's something he's been doing since 2003, when he almost got paralyzed against Tennessee. He short arms passes so that he doesn't get his head hit, or he takes an absurdly long (7+ step) drop when faced with a blitz. If you watch Roethlisberger play, he steps into his throws (for better or for worse; see SD game) and eludes the rush fairly well. Maddox stands there in the pocket and curls up into the fetal position under pressure, or he takes too long of a drop in order to get away from the pocket. He has no poise, and it stifles the offense. Is that "HYSTERICAL STEELER WHINING"? Not really. I had said about three lines prior to you jumping down my throat about whatever. I know what I'm talking about when I'm talking about football. I'm not piping mad or anything about this, but it doesn't take Stephen Hawking to realize that Maddox isn't an NFL caliber quarterback and hasn't been since 2003. Either way, the Steelers have Indy next week so it'll be interesting to see how they handle the no huddle. Hopefully, Farrior will be back and Larry Foote suffers a catastrophic injury in practice so that their tight ends and RBs won't torch the defense.

Mommy Maddox needs to never step on the field again. I'm thoroughly confident that El would've been able to do everything Maddox did in that game and probably come up with some plus plays in addition. This was an abomination of a game, not helped by the fact that the Steelers played with a rookie tackle and little passion.

If ever there was a game that demonstrated the need for an NFL caliber quarterback in your offense, look up this Steelers-Ravens one and the Steelers-Jacksonville game they lost.
-
Oh goody. We're going to lose to the MFing Ravens.
-
I can't watch the game at the moment due to NFL contractual obligations.
-
He also leads the league in passes thrown without the football.
-
Mommy get sacked more than David Carr.
-
The Steeler O is just terrible with Mommy Maddox under center.
-
Eh, that doesn't mean much. They've been shuffling him between Wilkes-Barre and the NHL for a while now. He actually comes up and goes back down at least sixteen times a week.

MAF will take over by midseason, I'm confident... and actually, the Pens have been playing moderately better D lately. Orpik has cut down on the dumb penalties a bit and RY-AN WHIT-NEY is going to be a friggin' superstar. Gonchar, when healthy, has also been playing better (although when he was playing on a hurt groin for the last few weeks, he was playing God awful -- flat footed and slow), and they've gotten some decent play from the revolving tandem of defensive defensemen known as Rob Scuderi, Lyle Odelein, Steve Poapst, and Joe Melichar. Tarnstrom is still hurt and Jackman still is a liability in the defensive end, but overall, it feels like Edzo has gotten to the older guys and the forwards are playing better D. Crosby has always backchecked with passion, and Palffy has actually turned into quite the defensive forward recently (lot of good poke checking and positioning in the last few games to break up odd man breaks by Palffy, actually). They've got a solid bottom two lines with LeClair, Murley (who is a defensive demon), Fata (who is fast as all hell and plays solid D), Kotslov (who is also fast as hell and, despite playing on the checking line, creates an excessive amount of odd man breaks), and Talbot (another speed demon who checks hard). Overall, they've been looking much more solid over the last five or ten games, with the notable exceptions of a few games where they just looked like they didnt' care. If they can cut that out, they've got more than enough to take it to the playoffs.

computers and technology that make you think of

I'll think of Eddie whenever I put a diskette into my trusty floppy drive. It's not the youngest player on the planet, but you can always count on it for a reliable read when the going gets tough. -
Movies that will make you think of

For me, it's definitely "Crash". The racism used in that movie makes you think that perhaps, you were wrong when you considered Eddie just a mexican wrestler. He's much more than that, and it's sad that people would identify him by just his ethnic background. -

DAMN did Crosby play well tonight. Pens beat the Habs in a shootout, with Crosby nailing it home as the last shooter.
