  1. I've actually heard wide reports of bugs in the game, so I don't doubt that this may be one of them.
  2. But eh, I don't really want to keep it up for very long.
  3. It's actually kind of fun to postwhore when your post count doesn't go up.
  4. You seem to be uh, ignoring the fact that his show is, in fact, on COMEDY CENTRAL. His show is the equivilant of a late night TV show. Crossfire, Hannity, etc. are supposed to be serious, to parrot what everyone else in this thread has said. He isn't supposed to be any harder on guests than, say, Jay Leno.
  5. Piracy is piracy.
  6. Oh, I know. I'd love to see him get onto a major network, though. I mean, his show is easily better than any late night show on television. He blows Leno and Letterman out of the water. Although, he can get away with a lot more on Comedy Central than he could on a major network, so maybe that isn't a great idea. I don't know. I just think more people should be exposed to his show and his humor. He does, in fact, rip on both parties (contrary to some people's opinions) and he does it in a hilarious fashion. He has guests from both sides of the aisle on regularly, and he does treat both sides with respect (with the exception of some good natured roasting).
  7. This is my contribution to this thread.
  8. Well, if he privately funded it by himself, I'm sure they wouldn't have gotten half of the money as they did after he started his own damned foundation for it. Because, y'know, people donate to foundations...
  9. Stewart really deserves more of a mainstream voice in American politics.
  10. I wish I would've. I hope there's a video online.
  11. But... Mike said that the Democrats are more bigoted than the Republicans!
  12. Except it wasn't as if the research done by his money would exclusively benefit him. It's hardly an act of compassion. Just because he's sharing the information that the researchers figure out makes him no more commendable.
  13. Mary Cheney is her father's campaign manager.
  14. Hahaha. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135392,00.html Edwards was complimenting Cheney. So, uh, do we now have to let compliments "slide" in our society? Wow, that was mature. Thanks for the input! Cheney brought his daughter into it first. Both Edwards and Kerry commended it and brought it up, albeit probably for political reasons, in compliments to Cheney and his family. Their staged outrage over the comments either show that they're worried about how Cheney's stance on gay marriage is in contradiction to the far-right views of Bush in terms of a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, or that they completely misunderstood Kerry's comment. Don't make poor GW out to be a martyr; you've done enough of that in the past seven months. ...oh. http://www.pollingreport.com/white.htm Not across the board, but Bush scored significant wins in 2 of the 3 debates. Not so in 2004, where he was expected to win but has, according to the polls, significantly underperformed. In 2000, nothing was expected of him. He exceeded expectations and tooled Gore. In 2004, Kerry was ready for him and has, in the public's eye, wiped the floor with Bush.
  15. Nope, because Clinton didn't start a full-blown media crusade about it. If Cheney made an offhand remark, sure, no problem. That's probably what Clinton did. But making entire speeches and interviews about it and professing extreme anger over a comment that was not remotely insulting is politics. Rush compared Chelsea to a dog. Kerry (correctly) pointed out that Mary Cheney is a lesbian. Kerry used the fact for political gain, which was wrong. It's being overblown to hell right now, however, as it was a minor point at best. See: 2000.
  16. Commie News Network has it on the bottom of their front page. That's big billing there.
  17. The big story today is that every polling firm has confirmed that Kerry is the winner of all three debates. Even a loaded WP/AP poll (which sampled 8% more Republicans than Democrats) agrees that Kerry pulled out the victory last night (42%-41%, even with the sampling bias). Bush failed miserably in debating Kerry. That's the conclusion that America is drawing from these debates. Not this laughable Mary Cheney scandal or any other grasping-at-straws stories that Mike decides to post.
  18. You mean... *gasp*... an AP writer talked about Cheney's appearances today? GET OUT OF TOWN. It's not even in the top 10 news stories today.
  19. Kerry's mentioning Cheney's daughter was a political move. Cheney retorting by making this an issue is a political move.
  20. Pardon me if I'm wrong, but starting a foundation to find a cure for paralysis is helping himself, isn't it?
  21. Neither you nor Maddox are crippled. That's his point. The only reason Reeve started the foundation was because he was cripped, not because he had a genuine love for crippled people. Thus, Maddox argues, it was self-serving. I don't see any problem with the logic in that argument.
  22. Actually, Kerry's "Tony Soprano" line has gotten more play in the national news and was far more clever than Bush's.
  23. After a 2 game losing streak, I GUARANTEE victory this week.
