Glaus's trade value isn't exactly very high. Unless they have some trade worked out where they get Miguel Cabrera or something (and they don't exactly have the pieces to make that trade), he won't be going anywhere. Riccardi probably has at least another year, but I think Gibbons is gone if they don't make the playoffs or at least come pretty close.

A new hitting coach for the Jays is such a nothing move. Wells, Glaus, Overbay, Johnson, and Zaun all under-performed because of injuries. When over half of your opening day line-up have big injury problems, how is it the hitting coach's fault? Not to mention they had a blackhole of offense at shortstop all year with either Clayton or McDonald in there.

I guess he just has to take a pill a very day.

It's up to the organization to distribute rings, not based on active rosters or anything like that. Commonly, they will at least give one to any player active during the season. The Red Sox gave them practically to everyone in the front office as well. Didn't the White Sox give Frank Thomas one when he had about ten at bats all season and they had him pushed half way out the door? Not quite as bad as the Red Sox giving Nomar a ring, which is hilarious, as all anyone could talk about after the World Series that year was that it wouldn't have happened if they hadn't traded him away.

I'm 99% sure that's the rule, and NHL referees aren't just going to make something up on the fly. Anyway, that was a pretty good game and putting Ponikarovsky back with Sundin and Antropov was a smart move.

I haven't reffed in a few years now, but I'm pretty sure I was told the rule was you add another player in that situation.
