The main drawback is it doesn't compress, so most DVD's when copied will be split onto 2 discs. Plus, you get that backup screen. Not sure if this is just with my DVD player, but sometimes they wouldn't play on it.

ok, a few minutes ago my monitor started giving me a totally black screen for a second and then going back to normal. It was doing this a few times and then stopped. Then it started again and one of the times the screen was all blue and distorted. Then the black flashes got faster, so I restarted my computer (that wasn't dumb, right?). When the computer was booting back up it flashed a couple times, and while it was loading all the desktop stuff the monitor was giving me a really weird noise and the screen was all distorted. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the cpu because when it was flashing black I was listening to music and the music didn't skip or stop or anything. It's fine now, though. Any ideas as to wtf is/was up with my monitor?
