  1. Did Ashlee really say the following at the end? "My band started playing the wrong song...so I FREAKED AND STARTED DOING A HOE DOWN" For the love of God please tell me that's true.
  2. http://thedvdguy.modblog.com/core.mod?show...&blog_id=327149 Go there, and look down the page for the link to the video. Can't. Stop. Laughing.
  3. Yes that's it. There is also a commentary on there by the guy from MST3K.
  4. Oh wow. I'll be downloading this one as soon as it's up. I can't wait to watch it tomorrow sometime. Is it safe to assume that the show sucked as a whole?
  5. I loved the Janeane Garofalo death scene. I loved it so much. Slavery, fuck yeah!
  6. What exactly happened?
  7. I bought the DVD and I'M happy at least. It's really no big deal if you already bougt it. When the new one is released, or just before, just sell the other one to someone else and use that money to go towards buying the new one. Look at it as an extended rental. Of course that's how I always look at the double dips. If they were able, they should have had the 2-disc come out with the single, but if for some reason they couldn't release them on the same day, I'm glad they went ahead and offered the single, because I've enjoyed watching the DVD.
  8. I'm very pleased to hear this news. http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?r=0&s=1&c=5104&n=1&burl=
  9. BwG, aftering saying that I really have to say that I'm shocked, heh. I never even thought of that.
  10. I plan on checking it out as soon as it opens in my area.
  11. "It's coming...wait for it...I promise...get ready...any second now...here is the cue...and...BOO!" If you want to experience this film you only need to do two things. First watch the trailer, then read the above sentence. Did ya do that? You did? Well, congrats, that's all this movie is. One big long ass cheap scare, a scare that you almost always expect, and always know when it's coming. I couldn't even get caught up in it, because I was always ready for whatever was about to happen. Don't get me wrong, and if you know me you know that I love horror films, but this isn't the "good" kind of scares. Everything in this film is expected. You know exactly what is going to happen, before it even happens, and the film itself doesn't even think about playing games with you. Before everything that could even remotely freak you out, you KNOW you are about to see a weird face, something flash by, or whatever other cliche they can come up with. You see, before every scare in this film, there is a lead into it using screeching violins. Very, very loud screeching violins, or some sort of cliche music. It builds, and builds, and right when it climaxes you know that someone is about to jump out of the shadows and go "BOO!". I do not like that. I am a sucker for cheap scares like that at times, many films do it right. But when it's done right, the scares like that come out of nowhere. They'll build up to it, then not actually have anything happen. Then when all seems cool, when all seems normal once again, then wham, you get scared, that's when it works. It does nothing for me when you have the director there holding your hand basically going "it'll be ok, don't worry, sure it'll be freaky but I'm right here to let you know exactly when the bad thing will come". That's what I came away from this film thinking overall, just horribly cheap scares. Then you have the trailer, which pretty much showcases most of the scares in the film. I'm not really joking about that either. Just about everything that it meant to freak you out in the film is in the trailer. The acting was stiff, I didn't care about any of the characters because they didn't actually take time to tell the story of anyone involved, which only leads you down the path of not giving a shit when someone gets knocked off. It's just, ok, that dude just got killed, gotcha. Not that I care about this aspect though, but there is pretty much no actual gore showcased either. It leaves almost everything like that up to you and your imagination. That's fine in some films, but here they don't really give you much to work with to even get your own imagination going, so in the end that's all in vain also. They also pretty much don't explain anything at all about the plot until right near the end. You see weird things going on, but it means next to nothing simply because you have no foundation or roots on which to build anything in your mind which could even explain anything. It starts up and weird things happen. A little while later something weird happens again, you get the big boo, weird stuff again, and then another boo or two. I may be in the minority, but without any hint of what is going on, without anything at all, all of this weird stuff is just that...just weird shit that you see taking place. It means nothing to you at all, therefore I couldn't care about any of it. Also, and I'm sure that anyone who sees it can say the same thing, it feels like there was a TON of scenes that were left on the cutting room floor. I wont get into specifics, but there had to have been minutes on top of minutes of film which were deleted, there had to have been. All of that said, yes there are some creepy scenes. Yes it would be a good flick to take a gal out to see just to see her act all crazy and scared, and yes it "looks" good visually. But if you are going because you want to see a good, well made, horror film then you are out of luck. The plot even leaves a lot to be desired even after it's explained, and the entire ending sequence is just one huge cliche that almost made me want to puke. This film has no heart, no desire, and no true ability to present any sort of horror. It felt like a horror film for beginners more than anything else, and that is just sad. Sincerely, ...Downhome... BOO!
  12. I've read that Jamie Foxx actually got tips from Ray Charles himself. From how to act like him to actual piano playing tips. Also, I believe Foxx went to college on a full classical piano scholarship. He also supposedly really got into the role by trying to "become" a blind person, by spending a lot of time blindfolded, etc... I can't wait to check this one out. EDIT: Yeah, check this link out. http://www.indystar.com/articles/2/186609-7132-047.html
  13. I'm just bumping this one up since Ray comes out next weekend, and so far it has 100% at RottenTomatoes from the advance reviews. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ray/ I'm calling it...he'll be nominated, and will more than likely win for Best Actor.
  14. Not yet, but I plan to order it soon. I've heard very good things about it from a lot of different people.
  15. I can't believe some people have to pay almost $15 just for a ticket for a single film. I go to the movies all the time, and I don't think I could put up with that.
  16. To keep everything in perspective, let us know where the theater is that you are talking about, and what the quality of the place is. Like if it's stadium seating, sound, screen, etc...
  17. The Eye has the most chilling moment that I've ever seen in a film. It's also a pretty fucked up (and great) movie overall. Does that count?
  18. "...and most importantly, personality!"
  19. I smell something. http://www.drudgereport.com/foxff.htm XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX THU OCT 21, 2004 17:23:09 ET XXXXX O'REILLY ACCUSER DEEP IN DEBT **Exclusive** The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained O'Reilly accuser Andrea Mackris' financial records which show a combined debt of nearly $100,000! FOXNEWS producer Andrea Mackris, who filed a multimillion dollar sexual harassment suit against top talker O'Reilly earlier this month, has I.O.U's scatted throughout the financial world, records show. Mackris was making $93K a year when she returned to FOXNEWS in 2004 [she earned $69,088 in 2003], but records dated October 18 show she holds $37,578 in credit card debt, and $61,913 in student loans. "It appears Ms. Mackris was living way beyond her means," a source close to the situation told DRUDGE late Thursday. A spokeswoman for Mackris' attorneys, Morelli & Associates, said the firm was unaware of their client's heavy debt load and laughed off any suggestion her financial burden was a motivation for a cash demand from FOX. Mackris, 33, and her attorney have been ordered to appear for a hearing in New York State Supreme Court next week to divulge whether sex phone tapes exist and "show cause" why they should not be opened to examination by lawyers for O'Reilly and FOXNEWS. 20. I saw this thread over at DVDTalk and many were saying they pay $10-$15 for a ticket, some people pay the same thing at all hours, and I was just wondering what the responses here would be like. For me, here ya go. I always watch my movies in Anderson, SC since they are the closest to me with the stadium seating, big screens, and great sound setups. Anyway, there are two in Anderson and both are the same price. Matinees (Before 4:00 PM) = $5 Matinees (4-6 PM) = $4.50 Evening = $7 Sincerely, ...Downhome...
  21. That is exactly what I thought when I first saw him.
  22. Fucking hell what happened to Shannon Moore!???
  23. Ha, that was great.
  24. Wow, CCC did two moves in that match, wow.
  25. Jennifer Lopez is slated to star in the MSG remake, so you can go ahead and write it off as utter bullshit right now. Nothing could top the original anyway, it's too perfect.
