That match was way better than last months between the two, great stuff there. I'm curious what they will be doing with Jericho now, but with Batista going over, I figured Cena was retaining (to set up Batista/Cena 2 at the Rumble). Match was better than Punk/Rey which is saying alot. Those last five minutes were excellent.

Oh wow, this whole segment after the women's match has been ridiculous, but so over the top it kind of worked. Khali's new music caught me off guard, I'll say that much. The announcers were actually having fun with it too versus alot of the times giving you the feeling they are being forced to laugh. So they are going with Hardy/HHH/Edge as the last match, interesting.

The news apparently was never true.
-
Much better than expected match there, Batista particularly more than normal. Liked the way the finish went, little different than the norm of a reversal to lead to a finisher.

Irony at Kennedy telling us ESPECIALLY not to do drugs

Ok match, nothing better or worse than what these Belfast Brawls typically are like.
-
I wish they would go up around the huge entrance stage and finish the match there, fighting on the scaffolding, etc.
-
Well considering the shot Rey took from the knee, it wasn't hard to see it coming anyway.
-
Not sure what to think of that segment, they are trying to draw more heat into a storyline that is kind of different to take to, with alot of suspending disbelief that Michaels is going to be Bradshaw's slave because he's broke. Crowd didn't seem to really care, nor react very strongly to what was happening there. But the storyline could be alright down the road. I don't think they will ever turn Michaels full heel, even though it looks like they will try to.

I'd be all for a Joey Styles chant here!

Oh forgot to mention I marked the fuck out when Rey pulled out Mistico's finisher.
-
That was a hell of a match, hell of a finish to boot. Man, Rey took that knee really bad, stiff as hell shot. Really felt like this was a big deal to be getting a shot at Regal, which is few and far between nowadays title shots becoming nothing of a special thing typically. Hardy promo was also pretty good. I could see them jumping the belt to him tonight for some reason.

Say what? They are releasing the 3-D version of Friday part 3? More info please!!!!

I was thinking the same thing. Angle and Brother Ray's deal was that both sides leave the building. They never said anything about leaving the property, so in that respect, The MEM kept their word. On a unrelated note, did they ever say how long The 3 Feast Or Fired winners have to cash in their title shots? Am I to assume it's just like The WWE's Money In The Bank? I.E.-Up to one year from the date the title match was won. Anybody know? I dont even think they put a timeline on it really. And someone asked this too, yeah Kaz is playing Suicide. It's a clear giveaway when he does the flying front kick that throws the opponent into the corner spot. As far as promo/backstage segments heavy, it most certainly is, more than ever it appears, but TNA has turned the corner into making at least most of these segments and promos worthwhile and meaningful in the long run. I couldn't say that, say, 6 months ago, for the most part. More particularly, the Frontline-MEM storyline seems to be paced well and it given really specific attention to details. Really enjoying how they are teasing the Sting turn, and in relation, teasing the MEM possibly turning on him first.

How do you mean? They always have copies of their DVDs in......maybe because they are doing this big sale on them? Appeared to be like they were marking them down to clear them out...
-
Yeah, its the wrong character to be doing a bi-polar 180 degree switch with, since Abyss was already established to be alot tougher, etc than how they have him now. But it's supposed to explain Morgan's turn down the road I would guess (because Abyss is so gullible).
-
I think they are just slow building a Morgan heel turn on him, which then will make Abyss "snap" or something. In the bookers' minds, (and my guess is Dirty Dutch is heavily involved in the booking of this with Russo's fingerprints all over it too) this is them trying to get babyface sympathy for the character.
-
Well it makes sense that Ray and Angle would agree to it. I guess Shelley will win the X Title and drop it to Homicide the next day or something. It's not "smart" booking, I guess you could say. If you make a match so soon for disbanding either group, nobody is gonna buy it. Well considering the match went to a double countout, it's an easy cop out for that stip in the long run, at least. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a potential blowoff to the faction wars stuff until the Lethal Lockdown match in April, if not even later on through the next year, maybe Slammiversary. That was quite the oddly bizzare and yet entertaining show, although some of it seemed like a parody of movies or game shows. Just wacky shit. Borash playing game show host and even saying "this has been Feast or Fired" was so cheesy, as was the verbal exchange between Buh Buh and Angle at the end of the show. And we even got a tour of the Impact set and backstage, even. Then the clip of Curry Man being carried out of the arena done so bad B-movie like, followed by a goofy musical note for Curry Man's sendoff. I will say this much, at least TNA actually makes me laugh, although sometimes that isn't even the intention. The wrestling was pretty weird all around, though. And it was just a matter of time before we got a pole match again.....err wait there was just one on Sunday...oops! But the show as a whole had alot of Russo "crash TV" style here more prevelant than I've seen Impact have in a long time (which was hit and miss and most certainly stuff that you don't remember long term) but more importantly, the Frontline-MEM angle was well developed from start to finish here on the show. That Angle/Buh Buh stuff was way better than I would have expected.

Yeah, its $5.99, not just $5 as I mentioned before. Tit for tat.
-
You are correct, sir!
-
Not sure if this was already posted but was up at Best Buy yesterday and they have a ton of pretty recent TNA DVDs on sale for $5 each. This includes most of the early to mid 2008/late 2007 ppvs, the Sting bio DVD, 50 Greatest Moments, Best of 07, Best of Bloodiest Brawls, etc. Biggest score is easily that they have Global Impact for that same price. Had to pick up the 50 Greatest Moments DVD and also Global Impact too.

It's just going to be that pre-taped intro he has already cut and was leaked 3-4 days back. And I dont see why anyone is up in arms about the spoilers, the Tribute show was never heavy on extremely competitive matches, either on paper or as how they turned out before. This is just more of the same, the wrestling is filler to the "tribute".

WWE Raw - December 8, 2008: The Return of the Slammys

Jim Ross in a sailor suit on Smackdown? When was this? That sounds hilarious. -
So what did everyone think of this last Impact show anyway? All in all, I thought it was one of the more unexpectedly last minute better builds for the ppv that TNA has done for a ppv that, on paper, looks completely throwaway. Got me more into the ppv than I was, that's for sure. The matches and storylines to play into the main Frontline/MEM angle were good enough to keep me interested through the show. Even enjoyed the Dudley promos all over the show in relation to the faction war angle, so consider me eating some crow on those guys, after thinking a face turn was going to be a horrible move. So far appears to be ok. Man, does Joe continue to look just awful in the booking though, I gotta think a heel turn is on its' way soon, or in the least Joe going on it on his own and becoming a true tweener, fighting off everyone and anyone who he wants, and siding with neither group. There was a ton of great unintentional humor in typical TNA style all over this show, which was actually hilarious (but not intended to be that way) compared with the really desperate and 12 year old style of hilarity WWE tries often.

It's too bad it isnt being re-released in the IMAX because I never got to seeing it there, and would gladly do so if it came back. In a regular theater though.....nah. It's ironic they are talking of a re-release as well as its still playing on a good amount of screens nationwide, mostly in the discount second run ones. I think it was even still pulling about 200-300K a week as of a few weeks ago. Not quite sure how it can even be called a "re-release" in that case anyway. Another idea that would really get them to justify a re-release....if they added addtional Heath Ledger scenes or even a quick 10-15 minute piece regarding him, although I'm sure we will see such in the DVD release anyway, in the special features, deleted scenes, etc. One would think they would figure something special out to really get people back in the theaters again to see it one more time, hopefully passing the billion dollar mark in the process.
