  1. Yeah, but if the booking is bad, and they DO get people to tune in, those people won't stick around and ultimately, nothing matters. The booking, as well as the marketing/advertising/promotions to get people to check out the shows, need to go hand in hand.
  2. No it's not. Wrestling is storytelling. Nobody will question the in-ring talent available to TNA, but it's the creative team that sucks - you know the people who script out the shows, the writers. Exactly. He made compelling characters of guys who've since flamed out of the wwe. And his critiques of the wwe and TNA for the UK Sun are usually spot on - he still gets it. You're a fool if you think that TNA's writing and angles are what's causing their bad ratings. It's people not knowing they exist and therefore not tuning in. It's bad marketing, plain and simple. I'd say its half and half, half the booking which is inconsistent as hell and half the marketing end of it. If they consistently had great booking year after year, there would be more of of a word of mouth towards the company that it's worth checking out, and if the booking wasn't as bad as its been here and there, ppv buys would be much more significant than this, considering well over a million people do check out Impact every week.
  3. Just because there isn't literal physical abuse in the household doesn't mean social services can't take them away. There are plenty of other reasons why they could and should.
  4. She said she has taken out student loans for many years (claimed only $50,000 but I seriously doubt that) and also was earning a few hundred thousand from a lawsuit she won for being injured on the job (ironically, A MENTAL INSTITUTION she worked at apparently).....that payout from the injury had just ended last year, so I think it's not coincidence that she decided to then have as many kids as possible here......it's all just to make money from the situation since she wasn't earning shit otherwise. I love her denial of not having plastic surgery or even follow Angelina Jolie's life story, etc. I mean cmon, look at the pictures from her before and look at her now. It's obvious she has had tons of work done on her face, and quite frankly, she looks like a freak because of it. Prior, she was actually kind of hot way back when. What gets me is why she just couldn't sell off the rest of those embryos that birthed the new eighth. Instead she felt like she HAD to use them or else she would be "killing life." Give me a fucking break.
  5. Like I said, Rock/Austin isnt happening, it was just a desire of Austin's to have. I could see Orton benefitting from being in there against Austin, but doubtful he would go over Austin, yet still get a nice rub by being in there with him.
  6. Shit, I thought that was on next week's show, but in fact they did take it off the show. Someone reconsidered the idea apparently to air it and ackowedge it even happened. Or else it was taped for Xplosion or something.
  7. What they should do is cut down to at least six pay per views, hell even make them four hours each and really make them solid all around, give the matches more time, etc. Keep Genesis (Feb), Lockdown (April), Slammiversary (June), Turning Point (August), and Bound for Glory (October) and Final Resolution (December) as the big ppvs, and make the other ppvs into more of Clash of the Champions shows they do live on Spike, if they are just going to throw mundane "B style" shit out there for some of them like they did with Against All Odds. Even run them on Sunday evenings, just like a typical ppv timeslot, probably would generate better ratings for Spike than they would do on a normal Sunday night lineup anyway.
  8. Did you catch who the shrink was? Abyss even said his name. What a wacky show.....seemed like I was watching a parody of wrestling during most of it, if that makes any sense. Steiner's promo was hilarious. In fact, tons of off the wall unintentional hilarity all over the place, not sure where even to start. How about them trying to do a serious handshake angle with MCMGs and Lethal/Creed while 70's disco porn music is playing? For what its' worth, the Sting/Angle segment to end the show was pretty good (as was the first half hour), but most of the rest of the show was goofy as hell. The ODB segment with Magnus was some seriously awful shit though. Foley's promo about an old match with Funk would have also been better served with, ya know, footage. All in all, it was a ton better than the ppv overall, in terms of actually being entertained, at least. And what's a ridiculous show that pays homage to Nash laying down for Hogan in true Death of WCW style than another Death of WCW mainstay, ahhh yes, the pointless prop on a pole match. Did Petey really even want to win the headgear, and if so, why? Wouldn't it make more sense to have a weapon on the pole to at least, ya know, use to win the match? Well, we all knew who booked THAT segment. Then followed by another goofy Joe promo.......his new gimmick seems to be a parody in itself.
  9. That whole situation itself is weird, not that George is helping out, but just the circumstances of that missing girl. Apparently it happened just literally a few miles away from the Anthony location.
  10. Oh man, there are reports out now that they got Casey's fingerprints all over the duct tape they found on the remains. If that's true, that's it, plea bargaining should be happening in no time.
  11. Honestly, TNA isnt really in a position to have much more than a few ppvs in the year being the extremely standout ppvs (that would be Bound for Glory and Lockdown). Otherwise, the rest should be on par with each other in terms of what they are putting on the cards. In their minds, there should not be such a thing as a "B" show type ppv, that's wasting everyone's time. Ultimately, it all comes down to the build of these ppvs, and thats where TNA lacks much of anything in, both on the marketing end and the booking end. But with the guys on the roster that they have, there really should be a loaded main event on everyone of these shows. Between Foley, Sting, Jarrett, Joe, Styles, etc this shouldn't be hard in theory to at least put a top notch card on paper each month, especially with at least an attempt to draw interest with a strong selling point match. This last ppv they did was the total opposite of all of those things.
  12. Then why are you even wasting time posting on it?
  13. Watched that Dateline piece on her, and there is no doubt she is unfit to bear the parenting duties of these children. She is just looking for attention, and part of me really thinks she is either hiding a mental illness, or hasn't been diagnosed with one, but needs to be. From what has come out in the last week, it seems like she already is completely struggling to take care of the first six in the first place, always throwing them off to her mother (who has gone public in really not agreeing with what her own daughter is doing) instead. Then on top of it, she spends an insane amount of money on these invitro procedures (I read a story that said she has spent 100,000 so far on just that alone), plastic surgery for herself (to emulate Angelina Jolie....are you fucking kidding me), a publicist, a website to try to generate donations, etc?!!! FUCKING INSANITY! And three of her six kids are on SSI for disability (BECAUSE of these messed up in vitro procedures she has, making them premature births), and they aren't even 7 yet, none of them. What really is tragic about it is looking at the new 8 babies, all are completely premature and look like they are close to death, or in the least, probably will have a handful of health issues with them when they start growing. It's just sick as hell. There is really no other way around this than for someone to step up and force her to give up all eight of those children if at all possible. They need to be given up for adoption before this whackjob even gets the chance to bring them home.
  14. I have thought that maybe there could have been something really strange like that, with Lee and Casey having a child together or something really twisted like that. Just seems too mysterious about the whereabouts of the father. Whatever the case, they apparently want to figure out the mystery of the father situation in this investigation here, to go along with the clues to the murder. In the very least, I think Lee really knew about this months before they found the body, possibly even when this all went down in the summer, whenever Caylee was actually killed. She seems very close to her brother, so it wouldn't put it past me for her to call him in a panic, claim she accidentally killed the child (which may or may not be true that it was accidental) and that they both had to go to their grave with the secret or else both will be considered murderers or, in Lee's case, an accomplice to murder. I think that even more because I remember watching a report about three or so months ago from a Florida resident who claimed to have seen the white car of Caseys near the area that I think they found the remains, going down into the dense forested area and throwing a bag into the swampy mess. At the same time, he claimed to have seen some guy somewhat matching Lee's description on a cell phone up by the car kind of monitoring the road to make sure nobody drove past and was looking around. I'm surprised that lead hasn't been brought up at all in months......it will be interesting to see how that plays in court, and may be reason to believe that is why Lee has been so uncooperative with police, even going so far as to refuse a lie detector test. During the funeral, Lee also was being REALLY weird in what he was saying, he would always say "CMA" instead of Caylee's name, which is drawing speculation that he was actually speaking to Casey instead in code the entire time. Both the mother and the deceased child's initials are CMA. One particular comment he said at the funeral about "I will always keep my promise to you, CMA" is extremely cryptic.
  15. He CAN wrestle again. From what I understand it's not a Bret Hart situtation where his health would be in serious jeopardy.if he did. He might not wrestle at Mania, if they can't get the right deal, But it's not that far-fetched to think he will. There has been serious talk of him coming back at Mania for one last match......so lets not act like it's not happening here. It's very possible, especially since nothing extremely groundbreaking is being penciled in at this point, they could pull this together with Austin. Apparently when this was first being discussed of having Austin work one more match, he wanted it to be against Rock one last time at Mania 25 according to the Observer. But that apparently got shot down fast by Dwayne. And as far as the talk of the impossibility of Orton against Austin just because he has a guaranteed title shot.....it's fucking pro wrestling, since when are stips solid as a rock? The title shot could either be given at an earlier date (on a loaded Raw 3-4 weeks before Mania) or else because of everything occuring with the McMahons getting the heat from Orton, he could outright lose his shot in some way, shape, or form. And there was strong suggestive commentary in the Observer weeks ago (right around the time they did the Orton/Vince angle) that this may be the plan.
  16. I think the reason why Orton is being built up so much is because of being in there against Austin at Mania. The McMahons are all going to be defeated and Vince will have to suck up his pride and call in Austin to save his family and maybe even the company itself in the storyline (if they keep going with the idea of Orton trying to do a power trip on the company when he takes out all the McMahons) I wouldn't be at all shocked to see Orton get his title shot against Cena earlier than Mania, probably on Raw in three weeks or so, which then will bring Austin back to cost him the match, then leading to Mania with Austin/Orton, or else they could get really crazy and do Cena/Austin/Orton, although that's highly doubful. It just makes sense though to have, for some weird reason, Vince and Austin together at the 25th Mania given the history of it all. Wasn't there some talk of Vince maybe inducting Austin in as well, kind of as a huge rub and sign that he considers him the real true number one guy in company history?
  17. Exactly.
  18. The next ppv is in Orlando again, but honestly doing an empty arena match as the main event of a ppv, anyway you slice it, it probably a bad idea when you think of it. Especially for the live fans.
  19. Credit: PWInsider.com TNA Xplosion: Roxxi def. Madison Rayne. ODB def. Raisha Saeed. TNA iMPACT! Opening of Impact, Jim Cornette is with Jeff Jarrett in his office along with Mick Foley. They're discussing Angle's match with Sting and how it shouldn't happen, its a liability to have a match, a fight without a referee.. Jarrett disagrees and Cornette asks Foley's opinion, he answers simply "remember the half time of the Super Bowl?" Cornette says he's not a help. Jarrett says would he rather have him and Angle go at it for a 3rd time and take the company down? Kurt Angle is in the ring, he said TNA finally made the right decision. He said all he wants is him and Sting alone in the Impact Zone. Motor City Machine Guns def. Lethal Consequences in a streetfight when Shelley pinned Creed JB is in Jarrett's office with Cornette, Foley & Jarrett. Cornette said they met Angle's demands and only the cameramen to document it and the announcers to call it will be present. Dave Penzer announced when the Impact Zone is cleared for the match, that the fans can still watch on monitors outside. Backstage with the MEM, there's a lot of internal arguing and Angle called Booker T out..Booker leaves and as he makes his way up the hall with Sharmell, AJ Styles attacks him with the Legends Title. Beer Money, Inc comes to the ring. Robert Roode says they are the best..and they have knocked down every team put in front of them. They've come up with a very special idea..the Off The Wagon Challenge. James Storm goes on to explain that they will put the tag team titles on the line anytime, anyplace...but, whoever gets pinned, they have to leave TNA forever..they can't come back under a mask, be an announcer, not even the stupid cameraman. And that challenge starts tonight. LAX & Shane Sewell def Matt Morgan, Shiek Abdul Bashir & Brutus Magnus when Sewell pinned Bashir. Taylor Wilde w/Roxxi & Gov Palin def Angelina Love w/Cute Kip & Velvet Sky. JB catches up with Sting backstage and they discuss tonight's upcoming match between him and Angle. Off the Wagon Challenge Match Beer Money Inc def the reuniting Team Canada of Eric Young & Petey Williams when Roode pinned Williams. Petey Williams is now gone from TNA Wrestling. They now have the fans leave the arena to watch the monitors outside for the Kurt Angle/Sting match. Sting & Angle went to a no-contest. They battled all over the arena and when Sting had Angle begging for mercy and was about to hit him a second time with a steel chair, Angle begged for mercy and pled with Sting not to hit him. Suddenly, Kevin Nash appeared at ringside and as Sting was about to give in and hit Angle, Nash grabbed the chair from him and Scott Steiner held back Angle and Nash held back Sting...Sting extended his hand to Angle, he accepted and then spit in Sting's face. Nash & Steiner restrained the two and Angle went back up the ramp with Steiner while Sting remained at ringside. ----------------------------- The ending of the show just seems to further lead to probably Angle/Sting for the title at the ppv. The street fight tag match sounds good.
  20. I would love to see Rourke win the oscar and go on to wrestle at the pay per view. The academy prides themselves on being so high brow (to the point they'd rather die than give the dark knight or spiderman II a best picture nod) and for a guy to win the most prestigious award they have and then wrestle on a show with midgets, giants, bodybuilders and more freaks would be brilliant. No matter if you want to see it or not, it can't be denied that, especially if he wins the Oscar, this will be tremendous mainstream media news and fantastic PR for Mania. Considering the significance that the event is supposed to be, the company really did fall into a gem of an idea of doing this, considering everything. But make no mistake, they did literally fall into the idea......if it wasn't for the unexpected success of Rourke's performance and the strong buzz the film has, this wouldn't have meant anything, nor make any sense. The only other idea I heard months ago (I think even as long as last summer) for celebrity involvement at Mania was possibly Puff Daddy, so thank god that isn't happening. Relating to all of this with Hogan, he has got to see the potential to serve his own ego by being involved with this, even if it means sharing the spotlight with other legends (but in both cases, guys he respects, so would be more inclined to do it) and Mickey. But I could see him doing it if the money is right, because he wouldn't even have to work a match and probably do a few spots, and thats about it. And he'd get a hell of alot of attention from it. Another thought I had relating to the card for Mania.......I doubt it's possible or even been talked about, but part of me would love to see Priceless against Dusty and Dustin. Have Dustin just be Dustin and bring dad back, they are in Texas so it would make sense.
  21. I think this will probably be short term just to debut him and get the crowds behind him a bit before he heads over to Smackdown. For all we know, Christian might show up on Friday as well and even stay there. ECW is back to being taped with Smackdown instead of Raw, so it's possible he just jumps in between shows for awhile as well.
  22. Because it's probably being taped right now? Damn, that was the best hour of ECW I've seen so far since its been on Sci-Fi. I just figured it was going to be another ok but uneventful show as it's been lately, and that Christian return really caught me off guard. The match itself was pretty f'n good too, Christian was working his ass off and came off looking like a million bucks by the end of it. This was also the best Swagger match I have seen so far. I wouldn't be shocked to see them throw Christian into the match on Sunday in some capacity, unless this ends up being a short term thing and he heads to Smackdown to get stuff started with the whole Edge/Hardys thing. He definately needs to stay a face, and if he keeps working hard like that (which he started to really do in TNA more than ever) I think he's going to get really over quick. Otherwise, the rest of the show was damn good....another pretty out of the blue debut with TJ Wilson, he came off looking impressive in the squash, and even Miz/Dreamer was entertaining enough. Wish it was this good every week.
  23. Yeah, same here. I really liked the first two hours of the season, but since then it seemed to slip a bit for the most part. But last night's episode really worked.....Keifer was ripping up all kinds of shit last night. Classic Bauer!
  24. So two shows in and I'm just really not feeling this show as much as I used to. Everything is to the point of seeing too convenient that this and that is happening now, and it just doesn't have that same flow it used to. Granted, I'm somewhat relieved the show has seemed to slow down alot and things are developed a bit more cohesively (thanks to the return of those original writers, I believe) but the spark is all but out on this show at this point to me.
  25. She sure isn't making it easy for the defense at this point......by publicly shunning the ceremony as cold and heartless as you can get (both from the public statement she had the sleazeball read to the media and by not even watching her own child's funeral) I think she just made it virtually impossible to get an aquittal.
