Foley and Sting cutting a promo together.......serious tease of Sting turning face there. I would pay money to see those two in a match again.
 -
Steiner gave him some decent offense, I don't think anyone expected him to actually go over.
 -
Damn, Steiner hit a hell of a spike piledriver (basically the same move Owen Hart injured Austin with) for the win. Match was a bit better than I expected. Joe's already showing up. God, that "tattoo" looks ridiculous.
 -
The funny thing here is that this is one of those shows that is going to end up getting so little buys, it's not going to matter much if they leave the stream open anyway.
 -
Opener was about what you would expect, solid but nothing incredibly great either. Shelley did a nice looking top rope bulldog though, that was the spot of the match easily.

So I was watching the countdown show on my dish and one the top of hour came for the show to start, I ended up not getting blocked from viewing any further, I still have the show as I type this. What an irony, the one of few TNA pay per views I dont buy, and I am getting it free. There is some sort of good karma in the world apparently. Doubt it will last through the whole show, but yay to it as long as it lasts. For anyone who has Directv, you might want to check and see if it's the same on yours.

Still baffled by the card here, this just has hardly anything at all to offer, and I will be passing on this one. With no Styles or Joe working matches, and the Duds in the f'n main event, not really sure what they are thinking here. But still worth throwing some thoughts down on. TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Kurt Angle vs. Brother Ray vs. Brother Devon vs. champion "The Icon" Sting -Probably the best idea here is having the Dudleys turn, and cost Sting the match, giving Angle the title again. Chances are Sting will retain though. TNA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed vs. champions Beer Money -Pretty sad this match is second from the top. Don't really give two shits about this one, might as well have Beer Money retain. TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Eric Young vs. champion Alex Shelley -Yet another who cares match. Shelley might as well keep the title. KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH ODB vs. champion Awesome Kong -AGAIN, another throwaway title match. Kong should take it. Legends Champion Booker T vs. Referee Shane Sewell -Not sure if this is a title match or not, but who really cares. I hope this is a quick one, as Sewell is a very standard worker, and most times, so is Booker. I'm sure Booker will retain, or at least should. Abyss vs. "The Blueprint' Matt Morgan -This is the single match that has a little bit of interest to me, but not enough to get the show. Should be a bloody brawl, given the storyline. Morgan should take it, as I don't see this feud ending yet. "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams vs. "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner -I'm interested to see how they two clash together in their different styles of working. I would imagine Steiner goes over. Brutus Magnus calls out an open challenge -All I am thinking is that Suicide will show up here, and probably beat him. Would love to see a Doug Williams appearance to start a feud of the Brits, could be possible since I think he is signed with TNA in some capacity. I'd expect alot of storyline driven vignettes to build things down the road more than the focus on being on the in-ring stuff. Joe and Styles should conceivably show up at some point, probably during the main event.

How the hell did this all start anyway? The video doesn't really show that part at all. So this woman jumped on his car as he was waiting on a stop light or something? I'm trying to wrap my brain around why a few fans would be so upset in the first place at him to provoke someone to literally jump on his car in the first place. Some of the audio is hilarious here, some guy yelling about how Jericho is ruining his Canadian heritage, etc. Fuckin marks.

They're just the same as the box set from years ago, with the same extras and everything. Speaking of film series that have seperated each film for individual releases, I just picked up the deluxe editions of Friday the 13th (Unrated cut on BluRay) and then part 2 (which has a remastered in HD picture and 5.1 sound) and part 3 (which is in 3-D, comes with glasses). Looking forward to watching these again to lead to next weekend. Appears to be some really great extras on these discs that wasn't in the previous Friday the 13th box set from a few years back. The only thing I didn't get was why they didn't re-release part 2 or 3 with extra footage to make it unrated like the first one.

Believe it or not, its a huge hit around here, since the town portrayed in the film (New Ulm, MN) is about 20 miles away. The old folks are loving this one up apparently.
 -
No doubt about that, by the end you didn't really get who did what, and how, and to whom. It was way too convoluted to say the least. Yeah, and the whole Dakota Fanning role was extremely strange, especially how they dressed her particularly, and whatnot. There wasn't much of a connecting character there whatsoever.
 -
Saw Push over the weekend, and it was pretty strange stuff. Very incohesive storyline, extremely hard to follow, but somewhat entertaining. They just could have done so much with the idea behind the film, basically people with special powers. Moreless it turned into a really bad hybrid idea derived from the Heroes TV show. Seemed like they were building a sequal out of this by the end of the film, which I found just as strange.

That's just typical sociopath behaviour.......she's acting like she's the real victim out of all of this.

Here is the big issue perhaps out of it all, what the fuck was the doctor thinking? Octuplet Mom's Doctor Is Investigated By SHAYA TAYEFE MOHAJER AP posted: 8 HOURS 5 MINUTES AGO LOS ANGELES (Feb. 6) — The spotlight on the mother of octuplets is turning to the fertility doctor who helped her give birth not once but 14 times by implanting Nadya Suleman with fertilized embryos. The woman who gave birth to octuplets Jan. 26 said she always wanted lots of kids. "That was always a dream of mine, to have a large family, a huge family," told NBC's Ann Curry in an interview that aired Friday on 'Today.' The state medical board said it is investigating her fertility doctor The Medical Board of California investigating the doctor — whom it did not name — to see if there was a "violation of the standard of care," board spokeswoman Candis Cohen said Friday. She did not elaborate. Suleman, 33, of Whittier, already had six children when she gave birth Jan. 26 to octuplets. The births to an unemployed, divorced single mother prompted angry questions about how she plans to provide for her children. But the backlash seems to have extended as well to Suleman's doctor. In a portion of an NBC interview, broadcast Friday, Suleman said she had six embryos implanted for each of her in vitro pregnancies, using the same sperm donor and fertility specialist. In the case of the octuplets, the procedure resulted in six boys and two girls, including two sets of twins. "The revelation about one center treating her makes the treatment even harder to understand," said Arthur Caplan, bioethics chairman at the University of Pennsylvania. "They went ahead when she had six kids, knowing that she was a single mom ... and put embryos into her anyway." In the United States, there is no law dictating the number of embryos that can be placed in a mother's womb. Multiple embroys can be implanted to improve the odds that one will take. However, there are national guidelines which put the norm at two to three embryos for a woman of Suleman's age, in order to lessen the health risks to the mother and the chances of multiple births. When asked why so many embryos were implanted, Suleman told NBC: "Those are my children, and that's what was available and I used them. So, I took a risk. It's a gamble. It always is." She said her life's goal was to be a mother and she had struggled for seven years before finally giving birth to her first child in 2001. "All I wanted was children. I wanted to be a mom. That's all I ever wanted in my life," Suleman said in the portion of the interview that aired Friday. "I love my children." According to state documents, Suleman told a doctor she had three miscarriages. Another doctor disputed that number, saying she had two ectopic pregnancies, a dangerous condition in which a fertilized egg implants somewhere other than in the uterus.

If a woman is purposefully trying to have yet another huge batch of children artificially, yes, I do have a problem with that. It would be one thing if she did this a few times, and didn't PLAN on having more than just one at a time, but she artificially aimed for at least 4 more this time around. Why isn't she content with the six she had before? It's not natural to do these things when there isn't appropriate things in place. Again, I go back to no father. Raising 14 children with no father. I'm not talking just about the emotional end of not having a father for them, but on the end of someone having to be the breadwinner in this situation and odviously she will not be able to do so since she will have her hands full now more than ever. She's basically bringing life into the world for her own selfish reasons, and anytime that happens, no matter what the circumstance, I have a problem with that because that means the child, more than likely, will not be raised properly. What irritates me more about this than anything is that the taxpayers are the ones who are going to probably have to end up fronting the costs of these children long term, if the backlash against her debunks any potential money making efforts from this debaucle. Chances are she will have to go on welfare to support fourteeen f'n kids.
 -
Yeah, I think people who are outraged about it have every right to be. I don't actually know anyone who has defended her. I do actually hope she manages to cash in, if for the kids sake if nothing else. The hospital bill is probably going to be 7 figures. Her hospital bill is apparently 100 percent covered through whatever insurance she has, according to her publicist that was on Larry King recently. Yes, she has a fucking publicist! But yeah, what gets me is that all of her children were concieved in vitro, and she has no real father that is going to be in their lives at all. I'm sorry, but how is that healthy to know they are without a father going into all of this? It's one thing if a chick gets knocked up, and the guy is just a deadbeat, but she KNEW going into this what the situation would be. From what I read, the woman has quite a disfunctional family background, so she feels because of that, she has to do this apparently. It's just an example of not getting the idea of a vicious cycle basically. My opinion of it all is that I think its really a sick thing, since I feel like she's just trying to get famous/rich by having all of these kids, and she's missing the point of emotional security for them......book deals, movie deals, and even a stupid reality show have already been proposed to her.
 -
It sounds like the mother was full of spiteful feelings as this whole situation unfolded to lead to the baby's murder......the grandparents did want to take her from Casey, since they had her most of the time anyway, but she was refusing to do so, strictly out of spite that if she can't have her, nobody can kind of thing. I remember hearing something about that the grandparents even wanted to take her to court to get custody, but they couldn't afford it since Casey stole so much money from the family prior.

Jesus christ guys, that MCMG's angle isn't hard at all to grasp. They intinally joined the group (and this was well BEFORE Foley was threatening them, etc) as part of the pact that the young guard gets held down, etc, etc. Soon after then, the disrespect towards the rest of the Frontline started, and it has continued on and off, more on than off. Then, when Beer Money laid out Creed, there was heat on the Machine Guns because they didn't help their faction out when they were RIGHT THERE, in fact being overtly heelish by laying against the ropes, acting like nothing was happening. Seriously guys, this isn't a hard thing to wrap your head around if you are following TNA regularly. Anyway, I wasn't all too impressed with that show last night, I'm just not feeling this ppv at all, and may skip out on it, or at least just catch it on an online feed or something, just doesn't seem worth throwing down any sort of money on. The Sting/Angle heat.....eh.....couldn't they do this some other way to lead to the inevitable Sting face turn? Like not have it all lead to Angle v. Sting? Angle/Sting is just old rehashed stuff from the past that we've been through before. And that main event for the ppv, ugh. But the rest of this card just doesn't grab me at all either. Shane Sewell is awful, and this feud with Booker is about as basic as you can get. Petey/Steiner and Morgan/Abyss has be a bit interested, but not enough to throw down money on this show. And Brutus Magnus is f'n brutal.....period. The only really good part of the show I felt was the Abyss promo. Solid stuff there, finally turning him back into more of what we are to expect with that character.

They probably wanted too much money for the appearance. Whatever the case, I think the idea is still on the table to have ZZ Top perform live there, and also I was told they were supposed to be recording a song for Mania as well, which would have been used as the secondary tune for the show behind the ACDC one. With them pulling out now, it might be the main theme.
 -
As much as I disagree with you at times, HTQ, you are spot on there with why TNA can't really expand their pay per view audience, and in a second tier level of importance, their general audience for Impact. They are unwilling to truly become that "alternative" properly. They have seen the fruits of success at times when they have truly distanced themselves from the competition, but its far from consistent. And thats the problem....that consistency they need to have to really stand out as unique.

I think it's very much more a chance than not that she will be thrown the death penalty, considering the evidence so far.
 -
I could totally see that happening. Shane seems to be a solid fit as a manager for Orton and Legacy as a whole, given he is a next generation guy. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Shane turn sooner than No Way Out or the night after it. In fact, part of me wonders if the horrible angle they did last night was essentially a smokescreen to then swerve into the turn happening next week already (Shane admitting that he and Legacy planned this all along to make people think one way), leading to Orton then being forced to give up his title shot at Mania by being a part of the Elimination Chamber instead.
 -
Yes, and in rebuttal he is actually making a motion to get the current prosecutors thrown off the case, which will never happen. I've always had some gut instinct that this defense attorney is a real snakey fucker and probably is doing all kinds of unethical things in reality, since he knows she's guilty and he might as well capitalize while he can. Latest word on all of this is that more evidence is tying into it being Casey. The blanket found inside the bag with the skeletal remains is the same blanket package that is a part of one found back at the home. Another sick thing recently revealed is that a knife was actually found in the bag as well. So what the fuck....she knocked out the child with chloroform, then wrapped her head up in duct tape (yes, the ENTIRE head) and then stabbed her as well? Jesus christ. In what was an inevitable thing, the grandparents attorney has gone to the media as well and now has stopped defending Casey anymore, so the grandparents have officially had enough of trying to stick up for her. They are now angling to set up a personal "meeting" with just the grandparents and Casey, presumably to try to convince her to just stop this shit and admit what she did. Now it just comes down to the brother, who I still think is involved in this somehow.

It's an actual high-def channel on most cable carriers and Dish Network/Directv.

Weekend Box Office Report Jan 23-25
RedJed replied to The Niggardly King's topic in Television & Film
I actually really liked the first two Underworlds, but just got out of this new prequal, and wow, absolutely dull and boring as it gets. The vibe of the whole film is horrible (probably since its more of a medieval theme they were going for) and it begs the question why they even felt this was worth even doing when alot of the films premise was shit that was already revealed in the first two films in the first place. Speaking of falling asleep, I dozed off for about 15 minutes during this one....that can tell you how shitty it was. Felt like one of those thrown together straight to DVD followups to what was, before, a pretty solid franchise being developed.
