  1. Army of Darkness is on there homes. Jack Frost sucks. Well, as of right now, I declare this tourney dead, as me and Mole and a few others will figure something out in the next few weeks.
  2. Don't hate on Bama. They've played very well this year, considering they have no depth, which means their players are sucking wind by the start of the second half. All those bullshit sanctions that they got from that worthless piece of shit the boosters gave money to don't help them either.
  3. Whoever mentioned Demons... well yeah, I can't remember every good horror flick. As for all the sequels, there are actually people out there who like some of them, and the possibility of them being the proverbial "cinderella" team, IMO, makes it more interesting. Another thing about poster nominations: You get movies nobody's ever heard of. I've watched just as many horror movies as anybody on here, and even I've never heard of Kairo, Suicide Circle, and Uzumaki. Jaws, Poltergeist, the Ring, etc. are PG-13, which automatically eliminates them. I categorize them as suspense/thriller kind of stuff, not horror. Yes, Scream is a horror movie. I threw a couple sci-fi/horror movies (Alien, The Thing) on there for variety, but Aliens was excluded for no particular reason. But then if I was going for variety, why all the shitty sequels? Sometimes I confuse even myself. Silence of the Lambs and Seven are crime/mystery films. Nothing really horrific about them. Thanks for the feedback, even though not all of it is positive. Thanks to all those whove posted their picks. Hey, Vern Gagne, is that former President James K. Polk in your sig. If so, any particular reason why you have him there? Any interest in history, or is there some kind of hidden joke with it or something.
  4. The Others is good, but not really a "true" horror film. But neither is Army of Darkness, even though it's in a "true? horror trilogy. Confused yet? I really didn't want to include the old Hammer or Universal horror movies, because I wanted to do more modern ones. If someone was to help, we could do a mini (16) tourney with older movies a couple weeks before Halloween. I was thinking about doing a nomination thread, but that ultimately leaves off more films than if one person picked them. Besides if you just used the first 64 nominees, than someone could just post ten to fifteen and only a few people would need to nominate. Then if you had each person pick one, it would be unlikely that 64 people would reply. I really didn't think I left any major ones out. The two biggest off the top of my head were "Pumpkinhead" and "Last House on the Left." I really don't see either one of those making it past the second round. Sorry if I disappointed some of you.
  5. Why? It's not like there is any major movies missing or anything. And I've already made it so the round of 64 is done this week, the round of 32 the next, etc. It all fits in quite nicely with the championship match being decided the week of Halloween.
  6. For the first time in SmartMarks history, 64 horror movies will battle one another to find out which of them has the right to be called the greatest ever! I picked the 64. If your favorite isn't included, sorry. You'll also notice some dogs in there, but it's a freakin' horror movie tournament, you can't expect top-notch quality. No "classic" horror films. Only "modern" movies included. Still confused? Read this: http://www.esplatter.com/reviewsotos/stellar_66.htm It was written by the best horror movie webmaster on the net, and the summary at the top about his list basically sums up the criteria for the tourney. Only vote once, vote on every matchup, you guys have voted in enough tourneys to know the rules. In the event of a tie, I will use the higher scored movie from the Internet Movie Database, for lack of anything better to use. The winners will be announced every Friday and the next round will start in the same thread. The winner will be announced on Halloween. Pretty creepy, huh? Now, "Let's get it on!!!" - Psycho vs. Jason Goes to Hell The Fog vs. Day of the Dead The Omen vs. Silver Bullet Cemetary Man vs. Halloween II Night of the Living Dead (1968) vs. Prom Night Re-Animator vs. Phantasm Dawn of the Dead vs. Friday the 13th Part 2 Texas Chainsaw Massacre vs. Scream 2 The Exorcist vs. Friday the 13th Part 3 Fright Night vs. Blair Witch Project Evil Dead vs. Phantasm 2 Bram Stoker's Dracula vs. Friday the 13th Rosemary's Baby vs. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers Hellraiser vs. Wes Craven's New Nightmare Army of Darkness vs. Halloween IV The Return of Michael Myers Nightmare on Elm Street vs. Child's Play Alien vs. Friday the 13th Part 7 The New Blood Black Christmas vs. The Howling Carrie vs. Halloween H20 An American Werewolf in London vs. Hills Have Eyes Halloween vs. Friday the 13th The Final Chapter From Dusk Til Dawn vs. Creepshow Evil Dead 2 vs. Children of the Corn The Beyond vs. Zombie The Shining vs. Hallowen 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers Return of the Living Dead vs. Candyman Suspiria vs. I Know What You Did Last Summer Scream vs. Pet Semetary The Thing vs. Friday the 13th Part 6 Jason Lives Lost Boys vs. Night of the Living Dead (1990) Dead Alive vs. Nightmare on Elm Street 4 The Dream Master Near Dark vs. Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors Happy voting! 7. On a side note, we'll see if Clausen's overrated ass will direct the band in Tuscaloosa this year. I'm surprised he came back this year after the spanking we put on his ass last year.
  8. Well about 1 out of every 3 people in my commmunity college parking lot have one. I've got caught twice speeding. Once on the interstate at like 10:30 at night. I wasn't paying attention until I saw the lights come on. Usually I'm pretty good at that. Second was driving down a highway when a cop coming from the opposite direction did a u-turn in the middle of the road and pulled me over. Traffic was fairly heavy, but I still could have spotted him soon enough to slow down. Normally, the safest way to speed is group-speeding. Follow a car in the fast lane whose speeding and usually someone will follow you. If a cop is ahead of you more than likely he'll pull the "leader" over. If they come up behind you they'll more than likely pull the tail-end car over. Of course, this would be negated in open-highway situations where the risk of a cop hiding on the side of the road lurks around every corner, especially at night. This should be the official "speeding and solutions to do so without being caught" thread.
  9. I'm thinking about buying a radar detector. Somebody like HBK16 or Kotzenjunge or somebody else who likes fast American made cars drop me some advice.
  10. What are the West Coast Choppers? Is it something everybody flaunts that they think is cool? Inform me please.
  11. Swamp metal? Is that the same as sludge metal? If so, the Melvins are pretty good.
  12. Who the hell is Baby?
  13. Man, I totally forgot about Wonder Years, I loved that show.
  14. Don't laugh, but I would like Home Improvement to release it's seasons on DVD. I grew up with that show and it was probably my favorite "family" oriented sitcom on TV. Also, they need to release "X-Men" and "Spider-Man" the FOX cartoons on DVD, I would run out and buy those in a heartbeat.
  15. Heh, TheMikeSC is just mad that he doesn't have a CD burner and can't join in the fun.
  16. Yeah, Christian is the man in garbage matches. I think it was WM X-7 where he fell off the ladder and landed ASS-FIRST on the floor. That was one of the most painful things I've ever seen in wrestling, and I've seen death matches.
  17. Wow, Crucifixio Jones hasn't popped up yet and set us all straight with his be-all end-all rhetoric and lessons about how we're all wrong and ignorant.
  18. Here's my list from sherdog.com: http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.p...ighlight=top+30. It got mostly posivitive feedback from there, so I thought I'd let you guys check it out.
  19. Yeah, like this is gonna be close. Astro Zombies is the best Misfits song by the way.
  20. Sixteen of the best sugar cereals of all time duke it out for teeth rotting supremacy! First sixteen cereals nominated will be used. If someone has already posted a cereal nominate a different one. Only real elligibility(?) rule will be it must be a "mainstream" cereal. As great as Franken Berry and Boo Berry are, some people may not know the greatness of them, so they will be excluded with extreme sadness. King Vitamin, Kaboom, etc. are also excluded. Post away
  21. Check this out: http://ko.sherdog.com/viewnews.cfm?newsid=...EyykllAvrBEzRdM
  22. My norton antivirus will pop up and say it can't eliminate the virus, mine is something like msrexe.exe or something. I don't get them on hotmail, they seem to come through MSN Messenger on my computer, which is shit i don't even use. Downloaded a firewall though it's probably too late to stop this one. any one know how to stop this bastard.
  23. My thoughts... Fedor made Gary look like an amateur, total domination. I mean, Gary didn't even hit Fedor one time with anything! Liddell is a tough motherfucker. Getting hit on the top of your head hurts like hell, but to come back and make Allistair do the fish dance, and them fuck him up some more makes me yearn for a match with the ultimate monster badass, Vanderlei Silva. Bustamante fought his ass off in his fight against Rampage. After seeing that fight, I'm skeptical as to whether Rampage could have beat Arona, because Arona may be the strongest 205 fighter in the world, and would have had a better chance at holding the submissions that Quinton escaped. Now this means that there will be some major BOMBS thrown in the second round, I feel sorry for Yoshida. Man, Ricco got robbed. And he was fat as hell, too! Damn, Nogueira couldn't get anything on Ricco. Granted, he was outweighed by a good twenty-nine pounds, but this is the HW division, where we fight, dammit! Ricco was robbed. The only decision that even comes close to the shittiness of this one was Arona/Mezger from a couple years ago. CroCop is a fucking animal. Damn, he is very impressive. Makes me wonder why Aerts or LeBanner don't try their hands at MMA. Mirko is so cool and collective in the ring. He'll have to be even more so to become the hands-down greatest fighter in the world. His goal is to win both Pride and K-1 this year. Hoost and Fedor are good opponents for Mirko, as they are also cool and collective, and wait for their oppurtunity to come. Mirko vs. Fedor, the showdown! Yoshida vs. Tamura was a great fight, totally exceeding my expectations. Tamura was kicking some Yoshida ass, until Yoshi put the judo on him. Something smells fishy about this fight, though. Yoshida gets hurt after the match, then just walks to the back under his own power. Sounds like someone's wetting himself over the prospect of facing Silva, Liddell, or Jackson. Silva is another fucking animal. IMO, Sak should have tried for more takedowns, but I think Vanderlei would have just mauled him with knees anyway. I would pay sixty dollars to see another Mirko vs. Silva fight, but I don't see that happening, comes times have changed. Wow, next PPV has the possibility of being even better? Silva/Rampage/Liddell, Fedor vs. Cro Cop, other superfights? Can you dig it, suckas?
  24. Ah, anybody can post their opinions.
