It came across well on television. It was kind of like watching a soccer game in a country where they care about the sport, except I was interested in the on-field product as well.
-
And Japan wins 5-3 in 10 inning. Great game to cap off the classic.
-
It's the game that keeps on giving.
-
I think it's cool how energetic the crowd is despite this game being held in America without team USA being involved. And to the 9th it goes with Japan up 3-2.

Dante's Peak right? Been forever since I've seen that movie. Doesn't grandma die? I should have known the volcano wouldn't cause major problems, because it wasn't on Nicolas Cage's list of disasters in Knowing.

What will be the worst movie of 2009?
Smues replied to Obi Chris Kenobi's topic in Television & Film
Can you count Jonas Brothers as a movie? Isn't it really just a concert? And my bottom three at the moment is Underworld, Street Fighter, Knowing. 2012 and Dragonball are quite likely to displace some of those though. -

And wow I just watched the End Game trailer. Wow. That's not actually getting a theatrical release is it? It didn't even look like a real movie. -

So what do you have as worse than Knowing? I still haven't seen New in Town, and don't plan too, but after having some time to think about it I think I've got Knowing as worse than Street Fighter. Yeah Knowing has more comedic bad value than Street Fighter, but Knowing is just so intelligence insulting, and takes itself so seriously, that I have to give it the nod. -
I jump ahead and get future winning lotto numbers, then come back and win the lotto. Money baby, money.

No, despite erupting two more times after I went to sleep the ash apparently went by us and won't hit Anchorage unless another eruption happens that heads this way. Mutation denied.

Sorry I'm late. Slept through my turn due to being up late trying to figure out which way the volcano ash from coming, so of course after being prepared it missed us. Frank Baker

Well it was a good run for team USA. At least they made it further than 2006. I guess I'll cheer for Japan in the final tonight. Go repeat champion.

Ball State's Womens Basketball Team Beats Tennessee in Tournament
Smues replied to Jaxxson Mayhem's topic in Sports
Let me know when they beat UConn. -
But thankfully without Ben Affleck this time.
-
Bait him on what? Adam Dunn? Edit: Ok yeah that was pretty obvious watching it again via Tivo. I must have zoned out and missed that.

Leadoff homer for Roberts. I'll take it.

Starting Jeter at short and Rollins at DH just boggles my mind. Stick Jeter at DH, and give the best fielding shortstop in the league the start at short. It's the fucking semi-finals. Fuck Jeter's ego, he can be happy at DH.

Is it ahead of either Street Fighter or New in Town? And have you decided between those two which is worse yet? -

Next week I expect to get dragged to 12 Rounds, so my pain can be other people's gain! Plus I just realized that Dragonball comes out on April 8th. I wasn't thinking it would be out until June or July. I can't wait. -
Do in-laws count? Because otherwise I don't really have an answer. I have a fairly sane, and small family. And even before I moved to Alaska I didn't have any family close to me outside of my parents and my sister. Closest relatives were in cousins and uncle in Phoenix, and after that you had to go all the way to St. Louis. So if I have any awful family I haven't had enough interaction with them to realize it. But I did have to spend some time with an annoying cousin when I was a kid, so I guess I'll vote him. He was like 4 years old at the time so that was why he was annoying, but that's all I got.

Apparently it's "International talk like William Shatner Day." I guess, I'll, have to do, my, part.

Ebert is beyond done as a good critic. I loved the guy, but he's been done for a couple of years now. It does sort of surprise me that he gave it 4 stars, as his usual MO is to give awful movies that he's decided he has to give a thumbs up 3 stars, his threshold for thumbs up. And I'm not even sure why he decided to love this one. My guess is because it's an end of the world movie, but this time it's not man caused so I dunno why he'd love it. Apparently his review website is down, so I'll have to read it later. Remember when he gave The Happening 3 stars, basically because he liked the idea of the Earth fighting back? Yeesh. Ok, Knowing. For starters the tag line on the posters was "What happens when the numbers run out?" So you know it's going to suck based just off of that. If this movie doesn't get a Rifftrax then there is no justice in this world, but then again they haven't done Ghost Rider yet either. This movie make no damn sense. The whole plot of the movie is that fifty years ago some kids made a time capsule at their school. Now it is opened and there's a letter in there with a zillion number. The numbers list out dates and the amount of people that die that day in a big tragedy. It basically lists every mass death in the last 50 years, plus three that are yet to come. Ok so that's what the trailers showed up, and that's what got idiots like me to go see it. Well, the whole list is COMPLETELY POINTLESS.
