  1. Yeah, this was addressed on the 2/91 TME Special. Before Tunney announced the #1 Contender, Okerlund brought up the fact that Slaughter pronounced Savage as #1 Contender. Apparently, Tunney wasn't impressed as he dubbed Hogan the WMVII challenger.
  2. JoseLUIIIIIISSRRRRRRRIVERRAAAAA!!!! I loved too when he would announce IRS with the ominous IRRRRWIN! "Ladies and gentlemen, the time limit has expired and I have the referee's official decision. He rules this contest . . . . . A DRAW!"
  3. Survivor Series 1990 after the Alliance/Mercanaries match . . . "Sgt. Slaughter! . . . . . . has been DISQUALIFIED!!! Therefore the sole survivor of the match is TITO SANTANA!!!"
  4. He probably mistimed how long it would take to get to the ring doing that goofy walk.
  5. Add to that when he put the chicken wing on wimpy, fragile WWF magazine editor Lou Gianfriedo (sp?) leading up to SurSer94. Vince was great during this "STOP IT!!!! STOP IT!!!! HES JUST THE EDITOR OF A MAGAZINE!!!!!" Also when he procured it on Jim Ross, as his gut tried not to pop open the buttons on his shirt. Good shit. Im disappointed that I cant find it anywhere. And just as Backlund was about to put the chicken wing on a hesistant Louie . . . "Easy Mr. Backlund . . . easy Mr. Backlund" then Backlund starts ripping and tearing I totally forgot about the JR segement until now, man someone needs to make a comp of that stuff. Too bad, there were only about 38 WWF fans at the time.
  6. I always wondered why Starr never caught a break (well, other than the fact that he's not jakked to the gills). He's had entertaining squashes with several guys in WCW/WWF in the mid 1990s. I especially remember him taking TV Champion Steven Regal to the limit on Worldwide. IIRC, even Schiavone and Regal put Starr over in the postmatch interview.
  7. I got through 2 seasons in about 2-3 days and while the show is great, I think I burned myself out of the show forever. Seasons 3 and 4 are just sitting in my room collecting dust.
  8. It's sad how much The Browns have improved yet they need all of that just to repeat their 6-10 mark of last year. LeCharles Bentley going down for the year sure doesn't help matters and Frye/Kellen are ?s for the team but their defense will hopefully be able to steal a few wins for the team.
  9. I was thinkin Vince may try out a Double Jeopardy match for the ECW title at SumSlam, but like mentioned, this will do. Then, the 2 losers can be pissed off at each other and feud for a few weeks.
  10. Maybe The Iron Sheik was looking to take the payoff from Big Daddy Gagne.
  11. It sure was.
  12. Ah crap, that's right, it was Sid and Warrior. Those damn Event Centers just blend together.
  13. I don't think the WWF was going to immediately fire Sid after the match. They aired some squashes of him a month after WMVIII and IIRC, were looking to set up a feud between him and Taker.
  14. I don't mind the ring being six sides, but I hate that it is so small. I mean if 4 guys are in there, it already looks cluttered. Heaven forbid if they tried a 10 man battle royal. If they just made the ring bigger, I'd be into taking TNA more seriously.
  15. HHH bops Umaga w/ the sledgehammer behind the referee's back. Ref counts 3 but Vince forces the ref to reverse the decision for a DQ win for Umaga when he shows the ref the replay.
  16. I may be wrong but I think the flimsy ropes were more of a MSG thing than anything else.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUYRXgNFhnA Taken from the YouTube thread. Mr. Bob Backlund invades Spring Break. Backlund + Wet T-Shirt Contests = Fun for everyone!
  18. Add to that when he put the chicken wing on wimpy, fragile WWF magazine editor Lou Gianfriedo (sp?) leading up to SurSer94.
  19. Fuckin gold!!!
  20. Remember, in the weeks leading up to the match . . . ANYBODY could have been the 3rd man. Plus, if anything, that comment probably meant Hogan wasn't going to turn. I mean how many times are announcers wrong about anything? Too many to count. "ONETWOHEGOTHIMNOHEDIDNT" Or when announcers think the plucky underdog will pull off the upset only to get beat. I had/have ZERO problem with the comment. Dusty and Tony selling it as if he was full of shit was perfect as well.
  21. I checked in w/ customer service regarding wwe.com not archiving the June 2006 matches and then making the month unavailable. Pretty much got the runaround . . . hopefully not.
  22. It sure sucks you got to put up w/ all this just to watch some matches in 300K quality. The generated e-mail said they'd get back to me in one business day. I can't check it until this evening. But hopefully they fix the problem because I don't want this happening every month just so WWE can save a little on their bandwidth.
  23. Was Joey doing this piece on a treadmill? He sounds out of breath.
  24. FWIW, the June stuff was never archived and is now unavailable. Not that I had a craving to see Taker/Bundy again, but it's the principle of the matter. I shot over an e-mail to wwe.com that I'm sure will go unread and spammed.
