Yeah that one really got to me. Cause I'm sure when Ric gives one of those interviews you think he's going to have a heart attack at any minute.

How about the stipulation match that if Steve Austin beat Undertaker then Vince would leave the WWF back in 2000 I think it was. I remember Vince was gone for a good while.

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=92508 PREACHER COMES TO HBO -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For years, fans have been saying that if Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion’s Preacher were to come to any screen, only HBO could do it justice. Apparently, DC, Vertigo, Ennis, Dillion and whatever gods watch over Time Warner agree. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Preacher will launch on HBO as a series, adapted by Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil) and directed by Howard Deutch. Johnson and Deutch will executive produce along with Michael De Luca, George Agusto, Chris Bender and JC Spink. From HR: Preacher, which ran from 1995-2000, told the story of a down-and-out Texas preacher possessed by Genesis, a supernatural entity conceived by the unnatural coupling of an angel and a demon. Given immense powers, the preacher teamed with an old girlfriend and a hard-drinking Irish vampire and set out on a journey across America to find God -- who apparently had abandoned his duties in heaven -- and hold him accountable for his negligence. The series was created by Irish-born writer Garth Ennis and British artist Steve Dillon, who will serve as co-executive producers. Ken F. Levin, who reps the duo, also will serve as co-exec producer. The series -- which developed a rabid fan base -- was known for tackling religious and political issues, its dark and violent sense of humor and its observations of American culture. It also was one of the series that helped define Vertigo, the adult-oriented line of comics from DC Comics. There have been several attempts to bring the comic to the screen, whether big or small, but nothing stuck. A movie version, to have been produced by Kevin Smith's View Askew, among others, got to the casting stage, with James Marsden attached for the title role and a reported budget of $25 million. The project reunites Johnson with Deutch; Johnson wrote "Grumpier Old Men," which Deutch directed. Deutch's directing credits include TV's "Gleason," the pilot for "Melrose Place" and the 1986 film "Pretty in Pink." He is repped by ICM. Johnson is repped by CAA. Though the series ended in 2000, after 66 issues, Preacher has consistently been one of DC/Vertigo's best-selling trade collections through both the comic and bookstore market, with each of the nine volumes seeing multiple printings. Like many other Vertigo properties, Ennis and Dillion have a creator participation deal with Preacher, which allows them to continually receive a portion of the revenue generated by the trades and other rights to the property. While no start date was given, or cast announced, the bar has obviously been set very high for the adaptation of the property, given the reputation of HBO's original series. Given the content of Preacher and the buttons a loyal adaptation of the comic series will push, the network is clearly looking at one of its most controversial series to date Edit: Sorry for the misspelling if anyone wants to take care of it

Oh. Well hopefully Lita will start doing hardcore porn soon. If there was ever a WWE diva made for hardcore porn it's Lita.
-
Wait I thought Lita was leaving wrestling all together to do movies (HA) and what not back when it was first reported that she was leaving. Was it wrong or did she change her mind in the last few months.

When Mr. Perfect beat Flair in a loser leaves the WWF match on RAW back in '93 Flair was gone for a good 8 years. I thought it would have been funny when Mr. Perfect came back a few years ago that he would bring it up to Flair that he shouldn't be allowed in the fed.

In other words Bischoff is making an excuse as to why he fucked up the easiest and biggest payoff to one of the company's biggest angles. A payoff the would have really given a crushing blow to the WWF.

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=92222 DAVE COCKRUM PASSES AWAY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to several sources, legendary X-Men and comic book artist Dave Cockrum passed away in his sleep last night, his death a result of diabetes and its resultant complications. He was 63 years old. Cockrum, a fixture of the American Comics scene in the ‘70s was born in Oregon to a father who was a lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force. As a result, Cockrum traveled frequently as a child, which allowed comic books to provide some semblance of stability from city to city. Following his father into the military, Cockrum served in the Navy for six years following high school, and then entered comics and publishing, first at Warren Publishing, and then as an assistant inker to Murphy Anderson at DC Comics. It was during this period that Cockrum’s art became known with the Legion of Super-Heroes, helping them to move from their Silver Age roots into a more modern look. While his Legion work is widely known to Legion fans, Cockrum will forever be known as the artist who, with Len Wein, and later with Chris Claremont, created the new X-Men, and redefined both the existing characters and revitalized the world of the mutants and the franchise for Marvel. Cockrum had two major stints as artist on Uncanny X-Men, from Giant-Size X-Men #1 in 1975 through 1977, and then from 1981-1983. Though he had worked less and less in comics in recent years, Cockrum had never left the hearts of his fans, as they rallied around him when it was announced in 2004 that he was seriously ill due to complications from diabetes and pneumonia. A benefit book and action was held, while Marvel Comics announced that it would pay Cockrum retroactively for his work in design and co-creation of the new X-Men. According to Clifford Meth, a family friend of Dave and his wife, Patty, there is no information about a funeral service at this time. According to his wishes, Cockrum will be cremated, and those wishing to send messages to Patty are asked to e-mail them to: [email protected] rather than calling. Newsarama extends its deepest condolences to Dave’s family and friends

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/T/TN_...EMPLATE=DEFAULT State News from AP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nov 23, 4:40 PM EST Memphis site of Kaufman and Beatles acts to shut down MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The days of pile drivers at the Mid-South Coliseum are likely over. The venue where professional wrestler Jerry "The King" Lawler in 1982 slammed comedian Andy Kaufman onto a mat and into the hospital is shutting down for all but graduations and other community events. Cindy Buchanan, director of City Park Services, said the arena will go into "minimal maintenance mode" starting in January. Officials project that the coliseum will lose $400,000 in the current budget year. Coliseum director Steve Fox said the decision to essentially shut down the 42-year-old building was "probably, in my opinion, the best move they could make to stop the bleeding." Kaufman, who died in 1984, and Lawler engaged in a high-profile feud in what was later revealed to be an elaborate act. In the Memphis match, Kaufman managed to stay away from Lawler for five minutes before the wrestler dragged the comedian by his hair to the center of the ring, picked him up and slammed him down head first. That move, called a pile driver, was repeated a second time, and Kaufman lay motionless on his back for 15 minutes before being sent to the hospital. The Mid-South Coliseum also was the site 40 years ago of two Beatles shows on what ended up being the band's final U.S. tour. Local officials were not thrilled, though, passing a resolution to "advise the Beatles that they are not welcome in the City of Memphis." The Mid-South Coliseum began to become obsolete when the city opened The Pyramid in 1991. That building was the city's primary sports and entertainment venue until 2004, when the FedExForum opened off Beale Street. Bass Pro Shops announced in February a plan for a Pyramid store, but progress has been slow toward a binding contract. Fox said the city is still trying to find a private investor in the Mid-South Coliseum. "I'm also very hopeful ... that there will be a firm offer from a private group to try and secure the building's future by privatization," Fox said. Fox said the building had six full-time employees, down from 18 in earlier years. "We're down to a basic skeleton crew - three engineers, myself, an office manager and a director of operations," he said. --- Information from: The Commercial Appeal, http://www.commercialappeal.com © 2006 The Associated Press. Meltzer said that Big Show weighs in at a legit 525lbs I think it was.

Why would the Superstars of the WWE make a movie about something retarded like professional wrestling??? It would probably be about something stupid like the "belt". A remake of "Bodyslam" would be perfect cast Fozzy in the role of Kick, Armando Alejandro Estrada & Umaga as the heels, HBK as Harry Smileac, Edge as Rip, The Rock as Tonga Kid, Ric Flair as himself, Bruno as himself, Iron Sheik as himself, Vince as himself, Stephanie as herself. And just for fun they should have Dirk Benedict & Tanya Roberts in it to. Hell it's not like they're doing anything now.
-
Nah, only when he starts using a bunch big words that have no place in what he's saying then you can call him that.

I don't see why they wouldn't be. If Edge came to TNA we could see the reunion of Team RECK!!!!!!! I remember reading something about Christian being mad about what Edge did to Matt and Lita cause he was good friends with them also. Or something like that.

I thought it would be something very different then this. Like Drake & Josh vs Spongebob & Patrick for the tag titles. D & J win the belts when Squidward hits Spongebob with a chair. And hell bring back the old timers to. Stable Wars: the gang from Hey Dude vs the kids from Welcome Freshman in a War Games match. The Game Show Host Cage Match: Marc Summers from Double Dare vs Mike O'Malley from Get The Picture. Marc Summers because, well have you SEEN Mike O'Malley lately? Talk about letting yourself go. Then after Marc wins Phil Moore from Nick Arcade attacks him. Jamie Lynn Spears vs Amanda Bynes for the womens title. The matches are endless. -
O.J Simpson to write book that details murders
EdwardKnoxII replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Current Events
Victims' families lash out at Simpson LOS ANGELES - Relatives of the victims in the Simpson slayings case are lashing out at the planned publication of a book by O.J. Simpson in which he discusses how he would have committed the killings of his ex-wife and her friend "if I did it." "He destroyed my son and took from my family Ron's future and life. And for that I'll hate him always and find him despicable," Fred Goldman said in an interview broadcast Thursday on ABC's "Good Morning America." The book, "If I Did It," is being published by ReganBooks, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. It goes on sale Nov. 30. Fox, which like Harper Collins is owned by News Corp., is airing a two-part TV interview of Simpson on Nov. 27 and 29. Denise Brown, sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, accused publisher Judith Regan of "promoting the wrongdoing of criminals" and commercializing abuse. She added: "It's unfortunate that Simpson has decided to awaken a nightmare that we have painfully endured and worked so hard to move beyond." Regan refused to say what Simpson is being paid for the book, which is being offered for $16.47. She said he came to her with the idea. "This is an historic case, and I consider this his confession," Regan told The Associated Press. In a brief promotional clip from the interview posted on Fox's Web site, Simpson, says, "I don't think any two people could be murdered without everybody being covered in blood." He is also seen setting aside a copy of a book he is reading from and saying, "I can't do no more of this." Neither the title of the book nor the context for his statements was provided. Simpson did not return numerous calls for comment. Simpson's own attorney Yale Galanter said he did not know about the book or the interview until this week. Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of murder in the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman after a trial that became a cultural flashpoint and a source of racial tension. He was later found liable for the deaths in a wrongful-death suit filed by the Goldman family but has failed to pay the $33.5 million judgment. His National Football League pension and his Florida home cannot legally be seized. He and the families of the victims have wrangled over the money in court for years. The families could go after the proceeds from the book's sales to pay off the judgment. But one legal analyst said there are ways to get around that requirement — such as having proceeds not go directly to Simpson. "Clever lawyering can get you a long way," said Laurie Levenson, a Loyola University law school professor and former federal prosecutor who has followed the case closely. As explosive as the interview or book may be, the criminal justice system's protection against double jeopardy means Simpson's book should not expose him to any new criminal charges, she said. "He's snubbing his finger to the system, to the community again," Goldman's sister, Kim Goldman, told CNN's Larry King Live. "He's telling us one more time, 'I'm gonna continue to get away with killing your family members and I'm not gonna honor the judgment and look at me, ha, ha, ha.'" http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061116/ap_on_...mpson_interview -
