Stupid to release him unless it is for drugs, which I doubt it is, because he has never been known as a drug user(a drunk yes) and if it was because of drugs they would have sent him to rehab. They probably signed him to a low ass contract when he wasn't worth anything when he returned and he wanted more money and they won't give it. I hope he ends up in TNA.

You know he is going to show up. Hopefully he won't be the redneck he played in WCW. What kind of gimmick should they give him? Maybe he could come in as the new leader of CM Punk and Dinero. They could be bragging that they have a new leader on the first show back and that he will debut before the end of the night. Have Raven be wrestling a match at the end of the show vs. someone when out comes CM Punk and Julio. They try to beat up Raven, but he comes back and knocks both of them out of the ring, when all of a sudden Dustin(in a new demonic style gimmick(maybe white face paint with blood dripping down his face) comes from behind and knocks the shit out of Raven to end the show.

So, Rockstar is going to spend MILLIONS on a license with LITTLE actual value to them? And a company is going to make toys for a fed with almost no actual fan base? You know, my BS sensor is going off the charts here. Was this a "news" column --- or one of the Torch's attempts at witty satire? -=Mike 2 million is very little for a game budget. They only need to sell 40,000 copies to recoup that cost.

I've read the plan is actually to keep Abyss as a heel for now although this could change. The plan was also supposed to be a double turn in the match tomorrow night with JJ going heel and AJ going face, but who knows what is happening now? They are probably still panicking trying to rewrite the show after finding out 11/30 isn't happening.

Vampiro isn't meant to be long term anyway. He's just another guy brought in by Mitchell and should be gone after their blowoff match. Styles shouldn't be a heel right now. He needs to turn back face. The fans want him as a face and cheer him most of the time anyway. Plus he works better as the face.

Looks like Kenzo Suzuki might get a contract too. He sucks ass, but WWE had him work dark matches at Raw and Smackdown and he won both. They'll probably hire him for the Japanese mafia group.
-
I also read in this week's Observer that Jerry Jarrett keeps costs so low that they are barely losing money on TNA. If they started blowing all of their money on more marketing their losses would balloon and then they would probably be shut down and sold off to WWE, who you know will be right there and more than willing to buy the trademarks, names, and video footage.

It is a benefit to a smaller promotion like TNA though and like I've said I've seen the AJ commercial a couple of times on channels like MTV. The other one I only see during the all day preview before the show.
-
Of course it is still going to show Shamrock. He is name some recognize so they will show him in it. Just like they still show Scott Hall, Xpac, Sting, Chris Rock, and others in it. The latest ad for the ppv I've seen focused totally on AJ Styles and noone else. I saw it on MTV. TNA could be doing a better job in some areas, but marketing doesn't really seem to be one of them. What they need to improve is their merchandise section. If they would sell dvds of shows with maybe 4 each on them for $25-$30 and put them online and not force people to use paypal only to pay, they would be turning a profit right now. It is ridiculous they don't have a decent online store setup. Even fucking 1wrestling has a store setup and Bob Ryder works for TNA and on their website.

To be fair this event was going to be alot more than just Hogan for the extra money they were charging. They were doing it in a larger venue, most likely were going to have alot of added special effects like pyro for the show, were going to bring in wrestlers from japan and mexico, have celebrities at the show, and it was going to go 3 hours. I'm sure it would have been worth the $30.
-
I suggested this on the totalnonstop board: "Fly in Hulk Hogan for tomorrow night. Have him run in and help AJ retain the belt. After the match JJ is pissed and absolutely destroys Hogan in the ring. You can run this injury angle a few months until the ppv can happen with JJ as a heel bragging about how he destroyed Hogan. When Hogan comes in for the ppv he can finally get his revenge and go over Jeff. "

What's weird is TNA and MLW cancelling shows on the same day...
-
The only benefit to this is they can set up a venue for it well in advance now and setup more long term booking going towards the event. That is only if Russo doesn't come back like he probably will since Hogan isn't coming in soon.
-
Russo will probably come back now since Hogan is out of the picture.
-
Damn. Hogan was supposed to have a telephone call to the show tomorrow night and make a live appearance at the asylum on 9/29 according to the latest observer too.
-
They should still do the fucking event without Hogan and just have him do a 2nd one in February when he gets healed up.
-
I guarantee it will be Sonjay Dutt unless TNA signs him to a 2 year deal within the next couple of weeks.
-
You don't just cancel an event 3 days before it happens, especially for a promotion that is pretty big like this. This just isn't a small indy show. They were bringing in talent from Japan and Mexico. The guys from Japan have probably already began flying over for the show. I can't think of any other reason they would cancel it besides loss of funding.
-
Well usually when the fed cancels an event they are dead. What is MLW supposed to fill it's tv show with now? I bet it never returns.
-
They must have lost funding or something. The entire event was cancelled.
-
Yeah, but Steph will get to beat Heyman in a match for GM rights once she comes back.

In what is a huge spoiler for this week’s edition of Smackdown, Paul Heyman has just showed up backstage at tonight’s Smackdown taping in Albany, NY and is scheduled to appear on the show. It is expected that he will take on the role of Smackdown General Manager on tonight’s show. I have already heard from a number of people who are there that they were shocked to see Heyman come to the show, in a good, positive way.

I was a big fan of Mike Sanders in WCW, but he sucked ass in TNA. I'm glad he is gone.
-
Austin was the first to trash the company on air on Byte This before his walkout last year and nothing ever happened to him. Maybe Vince respects them for actually having the balls to say something. Of course if it was someone like Stevie Richards that said it he would be gone tomorrow
