Kane/Edge is pointless and horrible. ALMOST as bad as Edge/Regal 2002. Even if they didn't already the whole thing was fake; Kane already got his "revenge". So stop having them have matches! Shelton/Carlito is even MORE predictable and horrendous, with Shelton's Sabu-style fucking up of spots. Their matches are just a fucking mess of moves thrown together until a "hot" finish. Both of these feuds need to end.

(Somewhat drunk) RAW Thoughts: Minority Title Match- Did we need to see these two wrestle again? Did anyone NOT see the finish coming after the count-out rule was announced? Match started off okay with Carlito working the neck, which, of course, led nowhere. So we get ANOTHER match between these two now, right? Four times in three weeks is a little much, no? It's not exactly like they were lighting the world on fire to begin with. In fact, THE MATCHES HAVE SUCKED!!3121! Angle faces yet ANOTHER jobber. Angle struggles to beat yet ANOTHER jobber. HOLY SHIT! Diva Search SUCKED, but was SEEMED TO FIT IN ON THIS SHOW! Good promo from hBK. The mouthing of "Same Old Shit" was the night's high point. Edge actually IMPRESSED ME WITH HIS PROMO. Very real soundign promo, with no HORRBILE overacting in sight. Two weeks in and Matt Hardy already looks like an obsessed thirteen year old who just had his girlfriend dump him. HARDY LOOKS LIKE A CHUMP! ENOUGH EDGE VS KANE! ENOUGH EDGE VS KANE! YOU HAVE A HUGE ROSTER...USE IT! YOU FUCKERS! I predict the Edge/Kane stretcher match will be unwatchable, just like the cage match this week, and the FOUR THOUSAND EDGE/KANE MATCHES BEFORE IT! Why is Angle taking orders from Jericho?!!432 WHY ARE THEY MAKING ANGLE HANG AROUND WITH JOBEBRS!? Maybe because his rign work SUCKS since 2003?! The last match sucked balls!

Who is before Edge as a heel? I mean HBK yes. I wouldnt say that Jericho is above him, if anything on par with him at most. Angles a tweener IMHO at the moment and HHH is off TV. HBK is the top heel right now. I normally wouldn't consider Jericho above him but he is in a title feud right now. Angle is a heel against everyone except Triple H. Hunter is gone, true, but he could come back and win the title anytime, and that would still be a better choice as champion than Edge. What has Edge done in the past 2 years to deserve a title reign? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Im not saying Edge deserves it, im just saying that Jericho looks weak at the moment, just like Edge. Angle is a lower programme than Edge (Kurt Angle Invitational) and HHH is off TV. If anything that makes Edge #3 at least IMHO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Angle, Triple H, and probably Jericho could win the title and have the fans buy it more than Edge winning. Jericho is the only question mark, putting Edge at the very most #4 heel on ONE brand of WWE.

Are you really going to make me decide between the company's most money-making superstar or the #5 heel on RAW? Cena. No contest.
-
I don't like Cena at all, yet I am not opposed to him being champion. He's an over character, and by being an over characters it enhances his matches. It makes the matches more exciting and interesting. As over with the crowd as Cena is (or was, if he keeps doing these lame Y2Cheap promos), he should probably be champion. And Hogan could work, brother. Especially next to a guy like Cena.

All of those matches were painfully average and totally forgettable, with the eighth match being the best as it told a story off the previous matches. Still don't know why people praise this series so highly. Those matches weren't very good, especially the one with the ref bump and Stone Cold run in where Angle no-sold the stunner and beat Booker clean with an Ankle Lock. WAY too many run ins in those matches to consider them "good".
-
Booker, from his tag days, overrated best of seven with Benoit, and WCW Championship run to current day WWE has never impressed me. The guy is the definition of average, and if WCW had ANY viable faces he shouldn't have been champion. The tag days with Goldust were "funny" but mostly because of Goldust. The only WWE Booker T match I would ever consider "good" would be against Austin on Smackdown in January 2002. Definetly Booker's best WWE match, and one of the only two overall Booker T matches that I'd rate highly.

Now I don't wear torn jeans, but what's so hard to get about it being the current style? Sure, some people think it's stupid, but there are always those that go against the current trends (just like real baggy jeans in the 90s, black jeans in the 80s, ect).
-
I'm not a big fan of either guy here, but I saw that match last night and would probably rate it match of the year thus far, with Flair/Angle and Shawn/Shelton barely behind it. Not better than the Pillman match or the NJPW match.

All Time (American Only): 5) Undertaker 4) Hogan 3) Shawn Michaels 2) Flair 1) Austin Current: 5) Hogan 4) HBK 3) Flair 2) Angle 1) Christian

I rarely wear shorts. This summer was the first time I've bought new clothes since three or four years ago. Usually I wear jeans and a polo shirt or a T-Shirt.

West Newberry is actually a pretty nice area, something everyone I watch RAW with jokes about when Cena comes out. There are some shitty Boston suburbs though (I'm supposedly from the worst Boston suburb around, and even I wouldn't consider myself a "thug").
-
Thoughts: After last night segment, I have changed my mind from "Cena is ok" to "Cena is awful". Cheap? Ugh. Not funny. Not creative. The crowd's non-reaction was sad, and the more they don't react, the more Cena yells and screams to desperatly try to get a reaction, and when he fails he looks like a fool. I think somebody better take the belt away from him quick before he wrecks RAW, because he's not ready as champ. When is Triple H coming back? The Matt Hardy thing was great, but where do they go from here? In two weeks, the "this is real" factor will be gone and we'll be stuck in a feud between the three worse actors in WWE. The real hate Matt has for them will turn into a generic worked hate that will be horrible, and WWE will run the feud for WAY too long and kill any entertainment value it could have had. Shawn's promo was ok, and I like his character saying he did it for the fans, then revealing his jealousy of Hogan with his run-down of nicknames. He's more of a tweener at the moment but that's ok. The match should be interesting since both Hogan and HBK's roles in matches are to get in offense, get beat down, then come back at the end.
-
Trips was never a better wrestler than Austin, even in his prime. Sure, Austin had a shit year in 1999, but Austin is so much better at in-ring psychology and expressing emotion in his matches than Hunter. Rock is a different story.
-
The only match Triple H actually gave a great performance in was his RR '00 match. The whole story of him trying to prove himself against Cactus was really great - especially against Cactus's desire to teach him a lesson. It's really a great match that's only hated on because it's on every other DVD and is often praised. Jericho/HHH was good more due to Jericho's selling than HHH's performance.
-
Considering I can't recall one memorable/good Val Venis match (not to mention the unbelievably stale character), I can't say that I'd be said to see him go.
-
Cena vs Edge would make me not consider buying SummerSlam (he just jobbed to KANE for christ sake), and Triple H should stay away from the title for a while, even in a kayfabe sense after losing three straight to Batista. The most interesting premise for me would be a face vs face Cena/Michaels match. I like face/face matches as they break the usual face beats up heel > heel gets advantage > face comes back > hot finish that most matches have. Plus they could do a past/future theme. Batista will be main eventing SummerSlam anyways since it's his home town, so Cena's opponent probably won't be Triple H.
-
Uh...the match was Flair's match. Angle's role could have been filled by almost anyone.
-
At least Rey/Eddie gets a *gasp* storyline development in their feud since it began four months ago, no matter how bizzare it may be.
-
Flair vs Angle was actually better than Angle vs Shawn. Unbelievable.
-
I didn't see Vengeance, but the WM XXI match was more Angle's fault than Michaels. Kurt doesn't particularly tell tremendous stories in the ring with anyone not named Benoit or Steve Austin, and Michaels just had that match with Shelton, which had better psychology than his match with Angle did.

After last night, can we finally end the myth
Angle-plex replied to iggymcfly's topic in The WWE Folder
I'll wait to give props to Hunter until a few weeks from now. Batista can beat Triple H all he wants - it's not going to make a difference until Batista is in the TOP feud of the show with the most TV time. So if Hunter opens up the show with another long, repetitive promo, and move on to a feud with someone other than Batista that is the "main" feud of the show, I'm afraid I can't give Hunter the thumbs up. -
What about either of the Angle/Michaels matches make it ****+? I'm not trying to attack anyone, but since I wouldn't rate it that highly and everyone else is raving about it, I'd like to know what I'm missing.
-
Neither HBK/Angle match was THAT good, and tonight's wasn't even close to their WM encounter. If they do end up having a third match, I'm sure some will clamor that it too is one of the greatest matches of all time just because it's the thing to do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While last night's HBK/Angle match was nowhere near **** 3/4, I would still put it at a solid ****. Did get the feeling that it was not as good as the Mania match (I had that at **** 1/4 to **** 1/2 IIRC), and I can definately see a finale match at SummerSlam, perhaps an Ironman match? I dont understand how you can't say either of their matches were that good though, that's a ludicrous statement - even the most pessimistic fans can see that there was magic there, especially at Mania. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't see last night's match, but I didn't think Angle/Michaels at Mania was that good, and this is coming from a guy that has had both of them be favorites at one point (Michaels in 95, early 96 - Angle from 1999-2001). I didn't see the Vengeance match, but the Wrestlemania match was just a bunch of nonsense leading to "big" spots in the match, almost like a video game match. The match had a story to start with (Angle couldn't outwrestle Michaels and was getting frustrated), but that was forgotten so that they could hit their signature moves and spots until the hot finish.
