Although the referees probably wouldn't call a sixth foul on Kobe or Shaq unless they stabbed someone with a rusty knife, it still bit the Pistons in the ass BIG-TIME that they couldn't get those guys out of the game. And yes, that Black Eyed Peas song is getting REALLY annoying, but on the other hand, when you have only one theme song to play for the entire playoffs, ANYTHING would become irritating after 2 1/2 months.

I can it or leave it with the new graphics, but that new set sucks ass.

Kennel from Hell. Brisco v. Patterson Evening Gown Match

People are talking about Rip Hamilton not even shooting well... I think some of that slack was picked up by Ben Wallace... I didn't see a final box score, but he came up with at least two or three jumpers that you just don't count on him making. Ben Wallace hitting a few jumpers doesn't cover for a lack of Rip Hamilton scoring, but it does open up the lane to get more people involved by making the defense step out on Wallace.

Madden 2005: Collectors Edition
The Tino Standard replied to The Tino Standard's topic in Video Games
I'm a bit out of the loop on all of this, so hopefully you guys can help me out... Based on what I've read in here so far, I understand why they wouldn't put the collectors' edition on the XBox, but does EA have a problem with Nintendo too? Not that I care TOO much... I have a PS2 after all, but still, I'm curious. -
*ahem* I hate to rain your parade but it was only game one and the last time Larry Brown beat the Lakers in Game One...they got mauled in the next four. I, too, hate to rain on your parade, but given the schedule of the Finals, the Pistons' prospects of holding serve on the home court look bleak. Unlike the other rounds, the Finals go 2-3-2 (like baseball), meaning Games 4-6 will be in Motown. Under that format, no team has EVER won all three of those middle games at home. Strangely enough, tho, the ROAD team has won all three.

After all HHH's alleged pulling for Edge...
The Tino Standard replied to Just call me Dan's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm still convinced that you-know-wHHHo is winning the title at SummerSlam, and then Edge will be his primary rival through the fall. Edge won't go over HHH, of course, but he'll be the hand-picked opponent de jour. -
If you could change the outcome of the match...
The Tino Standard replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Yup... I agree 100% with that one. That one night, Goldberg was more over with the WWE crowd than he ever was before or after. Stringing that out for another month was stupid on so many levels. The other one I'd have changed was the ending to WM 16. It was stupid and pointless for HHH to retain (he just lost the belt the following month), it made the Rock look like a choker in WM main events (he lost the year before too), and the booking for the end of the match was just AWFUL (a weak McMahon chairshot? COME ON). -
She might not have appeared on TV until the conference finals, but according to a couple articles I read, she made the jump in February. And as for her sucking somebody off to get hired, I'm saying she was probably a fine reporter for print, but she needed something 'extra' to get a TV gig. It was an offhanded remark that you guys are taking way too seriously. I think she's a fine piece of eye candy, but her television reporting has done nothing for me thus far. Just my own damned opinion.
-
I'm well aware that she worked at The Post... Her print work might have been fine and dandy, but I've yet to see anything worthwhile from her on television, and she's been there since February. There are different skills needed between broadcast and print journalism. I'm a week away from graduating with my degree in news writing, and I've worked at various newspapers for six years going back to high school. I'd be VERY hesitant to make the jump to television.

Something just seems wrong with putting an autograph on an American flag, even if it is Kurt Angle.

My college added dodgeball to its list of intramural sports this year. Damn, I'm going to miss this school.

Rachel Nichols is a nice piece of eye candy, but I have a feeling that the reason they never show her from the waist down is because people would see her kneepads, then realize how exactly she got her job.

Last I heard, the Cavaliers were absolutely drooling over Sebastian Telfair.

Yeah. "Over the summer," was the way it was put. However, HHH is going be out of the picture at Vengeance to film his movie, and Benoit/HHH is the most likely Summerslam match. So where's HHH/Edge fit in? If I had to take a guess, after you-know-wHHHo wins his title back at SummerSlam, his title defense program in the fall will be against Edge.

Flair's final title win... I think he beat Jeff Jarrett on Nitro... I know that was tame compared to other things in that era of WCW (David Arquette), but it still floored me.

The tag team with which I had the most success was Ultimate Warrior/Sgt. Slaughter. I actually got a tag team title shot against LOD with this duo, but I lost on a Doomsday Device. Hell of a run, tho.

Buyrate isn't the number anyone should be concerned about... The number of actual buys is. With PPV availability changing through the years, buyrates are hard to compare. Still, a 1.31 in 2001 wouldn't set any records, but yeah, that should have translated into a pretty high number of buys nonetheless.

The One And Only 24 Season 3 Thread
The Tino Standard replied to Spicy McHaggis's topic in Television & Film
Not to mention that the Salazars, whom he spent a year becoming close to, were killed, and Claudia, a love interest of his, was killed. Then, factor in that in the same day, he shot and killed Nina, the woman that killed his wife. Throw that in on top of the stuff mentioned and it's no wonder he finally broke down and cried. Some other stuff... - The scene with Chase and Jack drinking coffee in the train station... 24 characters DO eat and drink after all! - I loved the end to the President Palmer story. It's a real nod to the evolution of the character over the last 3 years. In season 1, he was the totally stand-up guy, doing everything straight down the line, right by the book. Over the course of season 2, he showed signs of being willing to do bad things. Then, this year, he went all-out with corrupt practices in the name of saving his ass. So, tonight, in the final episode of the season, he finally realized that he had become what he'd hated and originally fought against: a corrupt politician. That's when he knew it was time to walk away. That's some pretty deep stuff. -

This Eugene stuff is fine for now, but mark my words... The whole bit is going to burn out very fast if they don't keep the creativity going. -
Credit: IGN.com I can't wait to beat the shit out of people with the Hit-Stick. Finding out what other features they plan on having is gonna be fun too.

Who gives a shit how old somebody is? If they can work, they can work. And besides, an older, mediocre Benoit is still better than 95% of the WWE roster. Anyhoo, happy birthday, Champ.

If Benoit holds the World Heavyweight Championship beyond SummerSlam, consider it a minor miracle.
