And earlier that night he said to Russo, and I quote directly from CRZ's report:
"My belt is not on the line unless *I* say so. We've been over this - I told you, I'm not some fighting champion. I've got to defend it once a month...on the twenty-ninth day, at the eleventh hour of that day, maybe I'll do it - I'm not doing it every night!"
His whole schtick at that time was that he was a lazy fuck! And people get MAD when he gets slammed?
Fun Fact: the quarter-hour with the "War Games 2000" match beat out RAW's QH, which had the Chyna/Eddie/Angle IC title match where Eddie won with the Greco-Roman hug-pin.
And that Nitro had someone in the crowd with a "Where's Benoit?" sign. Classic.
Scott Keith would of had a field day on this show.
You know, if Russo had really hyped the War Games 2000 match and blown it off on PPV he might of actually made that thing you spend with, oh yeah - MONEY.
Alas, 'tis the case with everything WCW-related, could of been, should of been....but wasn't.
