  1. Since Yahoo has opened football registrations, are the two leagues continuing? I know I was in APO's League 2.
  2. Taylor Pyatt signed a 2 year, $3 Million contract http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=209822&hubname=nhl He was solid last year despite his inconsistency. If he can be more consistent, it could be a good deal for the Canucks.

  4. And Vinny's FG set the stage for Overtime... it's not like the Tuck Rule resulted in the final FG! The Raiders could have stopped the Pats in OT but failed.
  5. Moved up to 18th but in the process somehow got Bergmann sent to the DL making him my 4th victim
  6. Slooooowly bouncing back. Got a fabulous start out of Bergmann and hope to start having better weeks from here on out. The only good news about my team is that I have a chance to leapfrog up to around 16-18 depending on how my team performs this week.

  9. The Quest with JCVD... I'm a total sucker and about to watch it on Encore Action.
  10. One word describes my squad... oof! From injuries to the fact that I'm going with 4 MR this week makes me hope I can meet the minimum IP requirement. Just when my offense has become semi-decent, my strong pitching has now imploded... When's next year's keeper draft?
  11. New London = Around $3.04. Sudbury = $2.94 - $2.97
  12. Citizen Kane... I loved the cinematography but story wise... I was almost falling asleep at parts. Cast Away... Seriously, how did this get so hyped up? Long, boring, and it's just Tom Hanks on an island outside of the start and end (and the ending was draggy too).
  13. Who doesn't like Summer School? Mark Harmon + Kirstie Alley + Chainsaw (come on...the death spoof with the sub was awesome!) + the dude who went to the bathroom for the entire summer ("My zipper got stuck")... It even had a subplot for the dog!
  14. The Craft: The supernatural "Can't Hardly Wait" of teen movies (in terms of well known actors/actress' appearing). It involves Skeet Ulrich, Fairuza Balk in her breakout role, an early Neve Campbell, Rachel True, a young Christine Taylor, an early small role for Breckin Meyer, and Robin Tunney. Powder: Just a cool premise that unfortunately isn't as fulfilled as it could have been. Sean Patrick Flanery is really great as Jeremy Reed and it also involves Mary Steenburgen, Lance Henriksen in a non-horror movie role, and Jeff Goldblum who rocks as he always does ( ).
  15. Unsure whether this should go here or in the off-season thread but here are my spotlight UFA's to follow team by team. Note: Not all or even 1/2 will likely make their squads but some listed might have an outside shot. Really intrigued by Selvin Young going to Denver... 16. More UFA Signings... Houston Texans signed Wake Forest LB Jon Abbate, Boise State QB Jared Zabransky, and Hampton WR Onrea Jones (57 catches, 679 yards, and 5 TD). New Orleans Saints signed Pittsburgh QB Tyler Palko and Notre Dame WR Rhema McKnight. Jacksonville Jaguars signed Tulane QB Lester Ricard, Sam Houston State RB D.D. Terry (215 carries, 1328 yards, and 15 TD), Oklahoma State WR D'Juan Woods, and Connecticut TE Dan Murray. Pittsburgh Steelers signed Minnesota RB Gary Russell and Baylor RB Paul Mosley who may get a look at FB.
  17. David Ball~! and Darius Walker were both signed by the Chicago Bears. QB Toby Korrodi ended up being signed by the Arizona Cardinals.
  18. I'm waiting for WR David Ball (New Hampshire) to get his name called. Not a big speed threat (4.66 40) but he has good quickness (6.94 3 Cone and 4.21 SS) and hands of glue. Would make a good #4/#5 WR for a team right now with an outside chance to wind up around #2 in a few years as a possession guy. Also Justise Hairston, RB, went to the Patriots
  19. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/10156954 (April 29, 2007) -- On Draft Weekend 2007, the biggest tremors in the football world came from a trade between the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders. Randy Moss is on the verge of becoming a Patriot after New England agreed to send a fourth-round pick in Sunday's draft to Oakland for the mercurial and maddening wide receiver. Before the trade is completed, Moss must undergo a physical, which he arrived in New England on Sunday morning to take. Assuming Moss passes, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be passing him the ball next season in one of the most dynamic and electric quarterback-wide receiver combinations that has ever played in the NFL. Moss already has agreed to dramatically restructure his contract, which is scheduled to pay him $9.75 million this coming season. New England was the one and only place Moss would agree to take a reduced contract, and he did so knowing that he would have the chance to win a Super Bowl. With the offseason that New England has had, no team in football has a better chance. Moss also comes to New England with the warning that, as Bill Parcells used to say, the light is yellow and ready to turn red. The Patriots have notified Moss that under no circumstance will they tolerate any of the transgressions that have marked his career. The first controversial incident that Moss is involved in will be his last. The Patriots insist they will release him. But now that they have him, they are thrilled. Brady is said to be very excited upon learning the news that his team had agreed to a trade with Oakland. Patriots coach Bill Belichick feels the same way as Brady. After spending previous seasons lacking a big-play target, the Patriots now have a plethora of them -- none any bigger than Moss. How the trade evolved is a story itself. Ongoing trade talks from throughout the offseason continued Friday and intensified Saturday night after the draft when the Raiders called the Patriots and got New England to sweeten its offer of what had been a sixth-round pick. New England agreed to trade a fourth-round pick to Oakland. The trade caps a remarkably and busy offseason for the Patriots, who have repositioned themselves as the team to beat in the AFC and the NFL. They have added former Ravens linebacker Adalius Thomas, former Bengals cornerback Tory James, former Dolphins running back Sammy Morris, former Dolphins wide receiver Wes Welker, former Eagles wide receiver Donte Stallworth and former Bengals wide receiver Kelley Washington. Oakland was in a position where it had to trade Moss. It could not afford to pay him his base salary while also signing No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell to a contract that is expected to include about $30 million in guaranteed money. Plus, Raiders coach Lane Kiffin had been anxious to deal Moss and start over fresh, able to implement his own ideas with his own players.
  20. The Patriots have 8 picks tomorrow including 4 picks in the 6th round. Still lots of solid names available including RB Antonio Pittman, QB Troy Smith, etc. I'm curious to see who falls where and who trades up to pick which players. I guess the Bears are hoping Wolfe can turn into another MJD as a part of a committee with Benson on an 80/20 scenario? Really hope the Patriots can nab DeOssie too.
  21. Hey, just updating you that a 30% off PITTSBURGH codeword sale at Mile High Comics will likely end next Monday. Just ordered Batgirl Adventures #1 for $20 (NM/M) along with a few other comics and knocked down the $42.80 ($8.56 per comic) to around $33 total (about $6.60 per comic, great value considering the price on the BA). They ship out of Colorado and living in Massachusetts, the shipment usually arrives in about 2-3 days. Site: Mile High Comics
  22. Batman - The Long Halloween (Definitely worth reading. Artwork may take some getting used to but a fabulous mystery read.) - Batman: Year One - The Killing Joke (More a Joker story though) - Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Batman: Knightfall (the arc is worth reading... might want to hold off on this until some of the prior books have been read though)
  23. Good article on I-AA CB's and the recent success they have had in the NFL Draft Some interesting names over the past few years... Terrence McGee, Antoine Bethea, Rashean Mathis, and Nick Collins. The article also includes a look at the Top 25 I-AA prospects for those who will be going "Who?" when their name gets called.
