  1. Bragg and Tweedy split vocal duties 50/50, so you might not like it.
  2. The Raveonettes opened for Interpol when I saw them in February of '03. Sucked, they did. I'm seeing Wilco this Tuesday. I don't know if they have an opening act, which is a bit of a shame, as they usually have impeccable taste when it comes to tour support.
  3. I didn't like AGAIG, so Udall is disqualified right off the bat. McMurphy and Torrance were both fine characters, though the former had a bit more depth than the latter, so he gets the edge. But hey, I'll take Billy Buddusky over either of them.
  4. There isn't one stand out episode for me, but I'll tell you what episodes have a special place in my heart: Pod People Cave Dwellers Sidehackers Mitchell Just about any of the Gamera episodes. I started watching the show the moment our town got Comedy Central, which was shortly after season three began, way back in 1991. As for the hosts, I'll always take Joel over Mike, though Mike was still funny. The program didn't start losing me until Dr. Forrester left, leaving us with the pitifully horrible Pearl. God, I hated her.
  5. Here's something you should know about me, something which I am not terribly proud: I don't care for poetry. I've tried. Believe me, I've tried. I even took a class on the subject (Contemporary American Poetry, to be precise), but poetry still leaves me cold. I'm not saying The Waste Land had that effect—honestly, I haven't read it. I suppose I should, though, since I'm missing major lit cred for not having read it.
  6. Can't help you too much with Young, but I'm gonna say American Stars 'n Bars, simply for it containing "Like a Hurricane." And how dare you hate Alice, when it's clearly superior to Blood Money. Anyway, go for Rain Dogs next.
  7. I don't know what this means.
  8. The only beers mentioned here that I've tried are the Killians, which is merely ok, and the San Miguel, which is good. The Samuel Smith brews I've had are the Oatmeal Stout, the Nut Brown Ale and the Lager, are all of which are good. As for where I get my beer, there's a great bar here in town called Fuel, which has an extraordinary selection both on tap and in bottle.
  9. Maybe. It seems interesting, but I wouldn't go out right now because I'm a little drunk. And it's not playing here.
  10. Wasn't saying she was intentionally cruel, but her obliviousness to her own behavior didn't make her any less so. I never viewed Belmondo as some sort of hero (maybe of the anti- variety, if anything); dude was a prick, and I think the film never tried to portray him as anything but.
  11. Definitely an awesome soundtrack. Movie was way too dull for it, though.
  12. In other film news, Vampyros Lesbos was far too ponderous and deliberately artsy to be erotic. Feh.
  13. It wasn't until I was thinking about Breathless a couple of hours after watching it that I realized the truly cruel nature of her character, so blinded was I by her charisma.
  14. I saw this when it came out.
  15. Jean Seberg was an American!
  16. George Michael. Kid's got comic timing well beyond his years; check the episode "Pier Pressure" for proof.
  17. I remember A.I. being awesome up until the final half-hour. I haven't seen it since it came out, though, so don't quiz me on it.
  18. Do you like it? Try Moosehead. It's the superior Canadian beer, as far as ones you're likely to find in Florida go. edit: It's a lager, too, so there's another lager I like. I used to drink Corona (mainly cause they mention it in rap songs and my friends drink it) and I definitely like it better than that. I've not had enough fine beers to truly compare, but I will give Moosehead a try. I'll get you to try some good brews, should we meet Tuesday.
  19. godthedog, didn't you totally wanna bang Jean Seberg in Breathless, in spite of her horrible nature?
  20. Still the same thing, basically, but I'll concede the point.
  21. Are you asking what my favorite program is, or the identity of the highest-rated one? I'll assume the former. Oh, and currently running or of all time? The former would be Arrested Development; the latter would be Mystery Science Theater 3000.
  22. I haven't seen Jaws in years, but I recall enjoying it. I mostly dislike Spielberg, though. I find him too syrupy and preachy.
  23. Do you like it? Try Moosehead. It's the superior Canadian beer, as far as ones you're likely to find in Florida go. edit: It's a lager, too, so there's another lager I like.
  24. Sam Adams isn't bad, but I rarely drink it. The white ale I mentioned earlier is good, but it tastes just like Blue Moon and Hoegaarden. Might as well get one of those. In my opinion, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is the finest American-produced beer on the market.
  25. About a week ago, I drank the Monty Python Grail Ale. Extremely crisp and smooth; worth checking out in spite of its gimmicky nature.
