i adore this movie (especially the first 45 minutes or so), but if you thought the wandering shot in 'taxi driver' was annoyingly self-referential, you will probably loathe it. being metafilmic and self-referential is godard's whole schtick. Well, I've seen and enjoyed Contempt, so I'm not completely unfamiliar with Godard. As for self-referentiality, I can dig it (David Foster Wallace uses it frequently), but it just didn't belong in Taxi Driver. That one scene wrecks the flow of the movie.

That is if you don't mind getting so self-referential.

I've only heard Lifted. Musically, it was overwrought and bombastic (though it wasn't bad), but the cringe-inducing, Troubled Teen lyrics were all sorts of horrible. I don't think Conor Oberst is the anti-christ or anything, but the guy should shut up.

This new Low album, The Great Destroyer, is a lot better than many have claimed. Plus, it doesn't come off *that* different from their last couple of albums, in spite of practically everything being written about it states. Feels like a natural progression.

Eh, life goes on. Teke184 the Worst Moderator Ever was justly punished, so it's best to drop it.

I'm listening to the Shaft soundtrack again. It'll go well with the online driving course I am about to take. Fucking $200 speeding ticket.

This might not be the best idea. I agree. Kotz's problem is his inability to relax with women when in a sexual climate. A random pussy won't help matters at all; he needs a woman that is tender, gentle and likes him for him.
