Venting. I was five when I pulled down my pants and underwear in front of my neighbor girl of the same age, Melissa, who then slapped me. 19 years later and it's the story of my life.

I'll pretend Strays doesn't exist, and note that the "classic" Jane's Addiction--Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual--has not aged well. For all the fire and energy they put into their Led Zeppelin worshipping, it was very much a product of its time. I don't hate those albums--I liked them quite a bit when I was in high school--but what was once fresh and exciting is now dull and cliched.

The problem with Kotz, though, is he hit his prime early. The State of America was a thing of genius, and easily the highwater mark for any person. It's been over a year since he killed it--prematurely, I'd say--and what has he done since? Sure, he's an engaging fellow still, but I'm afraid he is indeed washed-up.

It's pretty easy to rack up posts. I have somewhere between 7,000-8,000 of these things, and it never felt like I was going overboard.

The last I heard about that Edwards guy, they were coming up on the time when they could legally presume him dead. That was a couple of years ago, I believe.
