An ex-girlfriend of mine had that same exact shirt. She has bigger tits, though.

I can stand beside Things I think are right And I can stand beside The idea of stand and fight And I do believe There’s a dream for everyone This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country There's room enough here For science to live And there's room enough here For religion to forgive And try to understand The other people of this world This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country That poverty could be Just another ugly thing And bigotry could be Seen only as obscene And the ones that run this land Will help the poor and common man This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country The dream will never leave And some day it will come true And it’s up to me and you To do the best that we can do And let the voice of freedom Sing out through this land This is our country From the east coast To the west coast Down the Dixie Highway Back home This is our country

I've little trouble understanding the hatred for "Rocky Raccoon" and sometimes hate it myself.
-
Ringo's done a lot of shit, but "Don't Pass Me By" and "Good Night" I really, really like. They seemed to be hated almost as much as "Rocky Raccoon" in some circles, however.

I was standing about five feet away from him during the entire show. I think the only time he ever opened his eyes was when he changed instruments. He was Feeling It.

Have you seen them live? Good show, as I said, though nothing extraordinary. Louder than I expected, though not the loudest band I've ever seen. Also, there's this: Murray Lightburn is short. Though I don't think about it much, really, I assume all guys in bands, whom I had previously only seen in pictures, are as tall as me, if not taller. (I'm 6'0".) I'm always surprised when I learn, firsthand, otherwise. I guess I think these bands I like are larger than life. It's silly, I know, but there you go.

Speaking of Canada, I saw the Dears last night. Good show, but I'm only mentioning it here because it was the first show I'd ever been to where a member of the band—in this case, the singer—used a keytar on stage. Sure, it was only for a brief section of one song, but I was stoked nonetheless.

I hated Dead Man, but good for you.

One of my best friends has a corgi. She's adorable, if a bit of an attention whore. I don't know if that's common for all corgis, but I'm glad I don't have to be around that one all the time.

I can't bring myself to spend that much on a breed with the potential for so many problems, but hey, it's your money and bulldogs are cool, regardless. I like purebreds, though. I'm considering getting a second dog—a playmate for my mutt (though calling him a "terrier mix" is nicer)—and it'll likely be a purebred. Something about my dog's size (20 lbs). Maybe larger, but nothing smaller.

Good lad. Hotbutter Killingsocks was not as learned as you, hence his being ultimately not clever enough to avoid being banned.

It's weird when you see boarders you never interact with/do not recall ever reading their posts acknowledge you like this. My saying that isn't a slight on foleyfan up there—it's just how it is. On a similar note: Byron the Bulb. He posted a handful of times in 2004, laid low for two years, and is now a recognizable person(a). Clearly, he was taking notes in his downtime.

Little Miss Sunshine was wretched; Arkin was the only redeeming factor.

I didn't understand any of that. -
I completely missed the boat on the chance to sell my at-one-time rare copy of Secaucus. Sigh.

So am I making it to the TSM HOF or what? -
This time next week, you'll be blasting 40oz. to Freedom everywhere you go.

How is Roky Erickson still alive.

Yet "Black Dog"—opening with Plant's unaccompanied wail, followed by that heavy blues riff—must've be reassuring for those people who may've been concerned LZ had gone pussy after III. (And hey, the jerky rhythms and odd time signature served as a precursor to the experiments of the following albums, too.) Had "When the Levees Break" opens the album, what could possibly follow? "Black Dog" or "Rock and Roll" would look tame in comparison. The only song that could possibly come next is "Going to California"—a sort of relaxant after the monster that preceeded it. Placing "Black Dog" as the opener offers a lot more flexibility, as almost any other song on the album would've fit in right after.

Oh wow, I wasn't aware the Jesus and Mary Chain were reuniting. Happy Mondays, too. Weird.

I haven't heard Silent Alarm since before it came out, but I remember it being a yawner. One of the songs—"Plans," I think—sounded like Interpol if Paul Banks had genuine Brit accent.

From that decade alone, I'd say "Children of the Grave" is far more the sonic steamroller.
