People here picking albums that are only a couple of years old, I dunno. It might just be me, but it takes years usually before I can say something is absolutely one of my favorites. I first heard Rain Dogs in 1998, and even though I loved it right away, it wasn't until five or six years later that I could comfortably call it my favorite album. But then I'm rarely at ease with lists that rank things so subjectively.

Right now, I'm leaning toward LTIA, if only for Jamie Muir's percussion work. The clanging, junkyard sound—which I fell for when I first got into Tom Waits so many years ago—has a soft spot in my heart. (I also really love the second part of the title track, which gives "Frame by Frame" serious competition for my favorite KC song.)

When I get home, I'm going to dust off my copy of Lick My Decals Off, Baby. Been awhile, and I always liked it better than Trout Mask Replica. Or at least found it easier to listen to.

Hey, I initially regretted hitting Post New Topic on that Your All-Time Favorite Album thread, but it's getting some decent conversation going, so it worked out well.

I had a fairly big turnaround on Blueberry Boat. Not the good kind, no, as I was initially enamored with its labyrinthine twists and turns and its cheeky melodies and lyrics. After about a month with it, I found my interest waning during the latter portion of the album—not as Wacky And Crazy, those shorter songs—which, in turn, grew into a dissatisfaction with the album as a whole. I couldn't get the idea out of my head that it was all one big joke, that the Friedbergers were in matching top hat and tails, hyped on sugar, shuffling off to Buffalo, writing songs about, well, something. Not sure what, now, as I haven't listened to the album in two years.

Edwin once started this thread and apologized for it a few posts in.

At least he got the right Radiohead album.

So I was pretty dumb to think Beat is better than Discipline, huh. Discipline finally, truly connected with me about a week ago, though I didn't bother bumping this thread until now. "Frame by Frame" might be their finest moment, regardless of era. Also, which of the two do you guys think is better: LTIA or Red? I am unable to pick one over the other. And I still haven't bothered to fully explore post-ITCOFTCK/pre-LTIA yet. I need to do something about that.

I still got it.

With Kingofthe909 just behind? Help out an old man, folks.

I don't keep up like I used to; KOAB has no redeeming qualities, right? Completely, totally, irrevocably worthless?

nikjohns hated me though I don't think he and I ever exchanged words. In fact, I barely remember anything about him, period.

Nothing I've read indicates Cale had anything to do with it; it's just Reed, by his own admission, fucking around.

I was hoping to contribute something to this thread, but now this hump—this fecal-drenched mountain—has been placed there, blocking my path.

I think it was a combination of his inability to play well with others and certain associations he kept.

It's like 2004 all over again, what with Gene as a mod and Spoon reverting back to his low self-esteem.

I'm ready to despise any overplayed classic rock radio staple, but I can't get with you on hating "Rock and Roll." Good stuff. Zoso's my favorite LZ; it would've been Houses of the Holy had they took off "The Crunge" and put "Houses of the Holy" there, instead. But they didn't, so.

I don't like "Whole Lotta Love," but I gotta give the overrated award to "Kashmir." For all the pomp and pageantry surrounding the riff, it's just that riff, and, frankly, I never really cared for that riff. It's not a bad song, no, but I find it to be a big so what.

I propose something be done about Rick_JamesB1tch. Two somethings, actually: 1. He no longer be allowed to start threads outside of General Chat. If you want to clean up this folder, that would be a start. "Now That's Chomedy?" I haven't even opened that thread and I know it's the worst. 2. His name be forcibly changed. It's already plenty annoying that it's a Chappelle Show reference, but the way he chose to spell it indicates a severe mental deficiency on his part. He obviously cannot be trusted with his own account.

Will the start of the new No Holds Barred—this Chocolate Socket—mark a rebirth of what was once a classic folder, or will it only encourage the recent breed of shit to continue to thrive, i.e. more nobodies like KOAB spamming the front page with their seminal drippings? Discuss.

I cannot tolerate Plant's voice pre-'71; I've gone into why before, I think.

I don't think the synths are particularly "dated" and that they fit the song well. Certainly better than, say, "Wish You Were Here."

Say what you will about this stupidity, it's making Diddy seem hungry and motivated in ways I never thought I would from him: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?acti...B88B79D3C1B13D7

I like the studio version of "Spiders." Between the two times I've seen them live post-AGIB, they performed every song on the album (save "Less Than You Think," which, well...); all of them trumped their studio counterparts, save "Hell is Chrome," which couldn't be helped at all.
