Warrior absolutely shreds WWE in Byte This reponse
Vern Gagne replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
Heenan likely ripped on Warrior for being a no talent steroid popping piece of crap. -
Why the fuck is Michigan still ranked?

Great Show. The original spy spoof. Really launched Mel Brooks and Buck Henry's careers.

I'm not a huge fan of the direction they've taken Stewie's character. I much prefer the kill Lois take over the world version, than the current meterosexualesque character he's become.

I never said the NFL moved at a lightning pace. Just that I wish college football games were quicker.

Family Guy and American Dad for 8/18

FG wasn't funny after Peter came home after being gone. -
That's the one thing I don't like about college football. The slow pace. The games are 3 1/2 hours long. They need to chance the rule that the clock stops on every first down. Make it the final three minutes of each half.

How do you know that he won't turn heel on you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With the photo he posted, I'd be expecting it: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is a bad picture to use. You need color, you need Steiner in a nice suite behind a big house, standing next to a for sale sign smiling. That looks like something you'd hand out to some agent in Hollywood.

A look ahead towards college basketball...
Vern Gagne replied to therealworldschampion's topic in Sports
He's still around. Virginia is already better without that idiot Pete Gillen as their head coach. No excuses not to have an NCAA tournament team at UVA. Find a coach who knows what he's doing and you can win their. -
Nice one. I think T.J O'Sullivan who for a short time was Favre's heir apparent before Rodgers went to UC-Davis has well.

I'm putting myself on the hot seat.

It's never funny when it's blantantly obvious.

That's right New York could have both the Cy Young and MVP winners. Just looked and 1961 was the only year that they won both awards in the same year. Since where on the subject. The last Yankee to win MVP in a year they won the World Series was Mickey Mantle in 1962.

The Greatest Cancelled TV Shows of this decade
Vern Gagne replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Television & Film
I only saw bits and pieces but Joan of Arcadia should not have been cancelled after only season on the air. -
Because he only has 14 wins. If he gets too 17 than his chances do improve. Just a feeling that Rivera will win this year.
-
Damn it. Santana should win the Cy Young award. Fuck number of wins. Everything else he's still better than any other canidates.
-
If the Twins lousy offense would of given Santana more run support, we'd be in line to win his 2nd Cy Young award.

At least Baylor vs Army as a hot sideline reporter.

Taveras is a better player, but that's meant to illustrate the type of player Taveras is. His defense is better, but empty batting averages abound. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just joking around. In defense of Taveras he does steal bases at a 75% mark. So his stolen bases are a positive for Houston. I'll pull a favorite stat of Al's. Win Shares. Through 09/16. Jeff Francouer 13 WS Willie Taveras 11 WS Ryan Langerhans 11 WS Garrett Atkins 10 WS J.J. Hardy 10 WS Kelly Johnson 9 WS Rickie Weeks 9 WS Clint Barmes 9 WS Oscar Robles 8 WS Ryan Howard 8 WS Ryan Church 8 WS Cory Sullivan 8 WS Jason Ellison 8 WS Lance Niekro 7 WS Victor Diaz 7 WS Wilson Betmit 6 WS Chris Burke 6 WS Chris Snyder 5 WS Ryan Doumit 5 WS Jason Repko 4 WS Mike Edwards 3 WS J.D. The idea is that in a seven game series, upsets can happen. A ball travels ten feet further and a game turns out completely differently. Look at the 2001 World Series. Does a single half inning really determine who is truly the better team? The difference between a .250 hitter and a .300 hitter is ONE hit a week. Random occurance has a ton to do with a short series. However, if a team is swept, that is certainly an emphatic message. Considering the difference in schedules, it is reasonable to think the Sox may very well have been better overall. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Red Sox had a significant advantage in starting pitching. St.Louis really lacked any starters, with overpowering stuff.

That last sentence crossed the line Al.

The Lion won. The Bear didn't have any real offense in the fight.
