  1. Keep drinking that Kool Aide.
  2. What if this is really Jeremy Giambi pretending to be Jason?
  3. Oh A-Rod could, Pujos probably could. It's part to do with players just declining when they reach that age, the money players are making A-Rod doesn't have to play has long, and respect for the record itself.
  4. Chipper will be helped by the fact he was arguably the best third basemen in the NL for 4-5 years. He played for a winning team, was considered their best offensive player. Jones really does nothing for me. He's got alot of HR's and his arguably the best defensive CF of all time. However look at the other numbers or really lack there of for a player with so much talent.
  5. Too many cynical people would just say Lee took something that's not detected in the testing, or MLB is just saying he passed to remove the bad pubilicity from the Palmeiro incident.
  6. Damn Felix Hernandez was born in 1986. That's kind of scary.
  7. Let me throw this idea out. Giambi gets tested back in June and passes the test. Whose to say he didn't take some kind of steroid knowing he wouldn't be tested again this season.
  8. Another thread that was amusing the first five replys, will be posted and once again will get old after the first five replys.
  9. I think he plays next year, passes Ruth and retires. I'll also go out on a limb and say no one playing will break Aaron's HR record.
  10. A Shula not named Don having success? I'll believe it when i see it.
  11. Next year it looks like Bruce Sutter will be the only one, assuming he improves on 66 %. I believe Gil Hodges is the only player to receive 66% and not make the HOF. Two years Gwynn and Ripken are locks. McGwire would of been, but after his appearance in congress and the general backlash against alleged steroid users might keep him out a season.
  12. Number of posts it takes for you know who to make this topic about you know what team? I like Florida in the SEC. Meyer imo is a better coach than Les Miles. Outside of beating OU those two years, nothing has really jumped out for me. Meyer doesn't have the big conference experience, and maybe i'm a year early with Florida but I see Chris Leak having a great year.
  13. I sent you a counter offer.
  14. Yep. Carter wanted to in has a Met and the Hall made him go in has an Expo.
  15. Mike Piazza, Roberto Alomar, and Gary Sheffield will be interesting choices. Piazza rightfully could go either way with the Dodgers or Mets. I'd say the Mets. Alomar probably had his best numbers in Cleveland, but I think he'll go in has a Blue Jay. Sheffield is probably the toughest. He's never really been on one team for a long period of time.
  16. I'll listen to deals for Wilkerson, and one of the my OFers.
  17. oops make that late 90's.
  18. Making it clear. I think Thomas should make it on the first ballot. I'm just trying to play devil's advocate. Another things to consider. Voters might think Thomas finished his career on a downslide. Even though he had 42 Hr's and 105 rbi's in 2003. He hasn't really been at his peak since the late 80's.
  19. I'd agree. I'd just rather categorize guys, I think have alot of quality years left has Works in Progress.
  20. As of right know numbers like OPS, Adjusted OPS and even slugging aren't the numbers the voters tend to look at when voting. It's still more about HR's, rbi's hits, batting average.
  21. When do newly called up players become availabe on the waiver wire?
  22. I'll field offers for Sheffield and any other veteran players.
  23. I sent you an offer. You'll probably turn it down, but figure it's worth a shot.
  24. Does this include Zambrano?
