By signing with the Astros, he lost absolutely any right to dictate what cap he should enter the Hall of Fame in. At this point, he'll go in with a Red Sox cap, accept it, and like it. Or he could just not show up to his ceremony. I know I definitely won't lose sleep over it either way.
Clemens has accepted he's going in has a Red Sox. By the end of last season you could see his feelings on the Red Sox thaw somewhat. Realizing he had his best years in Boston.
One question is why did Clemens deserve to have his number retired, or enter the Yankee Hall of Fame? He doesn't rank near the top in any pitching categories. He only pitched 5 seasons with the team.
