  1. I want: ALDS 1: who cares ALDS 2: Boston d. Chicago ALCS: Boston d. whichthefuckever NLDS 1: Atlanta d. Houston NLDS 2: St. Louis d. San Diego NLCS: Atlanta d. St. Louis World Series: either works
  2. I can believe it, since the Tigers and Cubs were the two best teams around the turn of last century. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would've been 5 had it not been for those '84 Padres.
  3. So you want Angels-Astros to spite the media? How is that not corner-of-the-universe?
  4. Barron and I know the way it's gots to be. Braves and Red Sox. Best possible outcome. Here. I made you a hat for the month. I can't believe more people aren't dreading Cardinals and White Sox, frankly.
  5. Braves-Red Sox would be interesting. Returning champs against the NL East mainstay, the old playoff chokers vs. the new playoff chokers, motley band of free agents vs. homegrown talent, north vs. south, old Boston team vs. current Boston team, so on, so forth. There are a lot of directions for the broadcasters to go in terms of promoting it. And hey, a 90-win team and a 95-win team, you'll get some good baseball out of it.
  6. Well, Harry "you son of a bitch you tried to bribe me" Reid did recommend her.
  7. Oh I was just kidding. It's not a battle. But seriously, couldn't Bush have done better than this? I'm afraid it's gonna be Democrats: "We're not sure we know enough about her." Republicans: "Oh! Well what you DO know is she's a woman! Are you just going to shoot her down because she's a woman? SEXIST! SEXIST! CLEARLY YOU'RE TRYING TO BLOCK A WOMAN FROM GETTING TO THE COURT!!!"
  8. Is he a disillusioned intellectual?
  9. This is true. Personal baggage alone is gonna keep Giuliani out, and Feingold out for the Democrats (multiple marriages, non-Protestant doesn't fly with middle America)
  10. Yeah, and neither was Earl Warren, so we're even now. And at least Nixon never lamented what a bad idea it was to put Rehnquist on. Anyway, a Bush Buddy + Obligatory Woman isn't really what I was hoping for, so I hope the error of ways is seen.
  11. I just don't want another person in the George W. Bush mold. In a party that accounts for about half the country's politicians, there's gotta be a well-spoken bright man, maybe even from somewhere other than the south, who wants to scale the government back.
  12. Watch the Cubs sign him.
  13. The Red Wings are back on the ice, so Illitch should be back to not giving a damn about the Tigers. And I figured Pittsburgh wanted Leyland, though I can't imagine he'd return to managing with a team that has Bay, the Wilsons, Mackowiak, and not much else.
  14. Oh come on, I did it first.
  15. Sounds like an Ay-rab to me.
  16. Well they banked on Percival and it blew up in their faces. There wasn't a lot they could do this year
  17. Is Rollins gonna walk through a giant paper number?
  18. NEVER BEEN A JUDGE?!?! The fuck? Cronyism AND affirmative action at once, this is fuckin' great. Feel free to block this, Democrats.
  19. wildpegasus walks the line o---wait what? oh.
  20. No I was thinking of Dave Miley. But yeah, Lou gawn too.
  21. Also during the year you've got Tony Pena's mysterious resignation, Lee Mazzilli, Lloyd McClendon, and I want to say one more?
  22. I'm outside the northeast, and I'd be fine with Giuliani.
