I think the reason everyone was so wary was because it was being promoted as just the Nagata/Angle match and whacky skits of the TNA guys in Japan. It had much more of a documentary feel to it.
-
I was pleasantly shocked to see how well put together the Global Impact special was. If they could only do stuff like this on a regular basis.
-
This is insane. I do like LAX taking Shark Boy's stuff though.
-
Eh....only TNA could fuck up their own Japanese special.

I would like to read Slash's book eventually. Right now, I'm finishing up Nikki Sixx's The Heroin Diaries, and I really don't feel like reading another drugged up rocker book.
-
That's what I'm assuming. From what I saw of him in Chikara, he's fairly entertaining.
-
Yeah. He would be looking for a refund. I do like the clips on the Kill Yourself DVD where he's gorilla pressing fans at a SOD show.

I was thinking of Kong and Joe being allies are something and then feuding. You know how TNA likes whacky partners. In this case, I'd have them have some sort of falling out.
-
Now that you mentioned that a lot of it is parody, I'm inerested. Thanks for explaining.

Kong/Joe would propably rock. Imagine if they did an intergender tag series...

NCFOM was balls out brilliant. Sell me on why you enjoyed Enchanted that much.

I'm not too keen on DC stuff so please somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't this "mind-erasing" thing also happen in The Flash comics? I seem to recall that everybody knew that Wally West was the Flash but in some storyline something happened and suddenly everybody forgot or something of the like? If this is true then I don't see much reason to bitch about this since it already happened and to my knowledge nobody complained that time. Well, you are comparing two very different things. Wally's retcon was more a 'soft-retcon' than anything: It really wasn't tied into anything big, and the biggest effect was to change something which was relatively recent (his unborn children dying). Overall, it didn't change anything that was intrinsically linked to his character: At the end of the day, he was still the same guy, and it didn't have a huge effect on continuity overall. Peter's retcon is the hardest type of retcon you could get. We are essentially erasing 20+ years of continuity, eliminating one of the most essential relationships he has, negating things like "The Other" (Return of Webshooters, remember?), HARRY OSBORN IS ALIVE AGAIN... All of it is a drastic shock to the entire character concept. It's really not comparable. Well, I was talking specifically about the identity thing only, which seems to be getting about as much bitching as the other stuff happening. Yea, but I don't think Wally's identity was ever a 'BIG REVEAL' type deal. It was a huge plot, and what sparked majority of the interest in Civil War, and it's just stupid that it's retconned a few months later. f So I guess in that case, you can expect to see Captain America back in a few months. Oh, and then we're gonna find out that he was never in WWII, and is actually just a clone of a more recent hero. Or something else bogus, that completely changes continuity. I'm not even a Marvel fan, and I found the retcon to be pretty stupid. Although, I will say, I did read Brand New Day, and I didn't mind it... I think Bru is too good a writer for Cap's return to be so awful.

It would be funny if Billy Milano was on the list.

Questions to be answered by the next person to post in the thread

Pretty much the same way it did except there would have been far fewer Wizards games on national TV. I'm talking when he returned for the 2nd Bulls 3-peat. What if he didn't return? The Jazz, Knicks or Pacers would have a championship. If you were to move a struggling NHL franchise, where would you move it to and why? -
Same here. That match would propably get the most mainstream coverage of anything TNA's done, especially because it involves a former Olympic gold medal winner and a female wrestler who is so different.

Buckethead is amazing live. I saw him twice last year. It was unreal; he played for about two and a half hours each time.

That must be awkward waking up eight years later naked with your robot girlfriend and your mom.
-
It's been pretty entertaining for the most part. Apparently T3 happened outside of continuity.
-
Tbond's post brings up a good point...do people that Peter intentionally and willingly tell still know his identity?
-
I think it's exceptionally dumb because if you want to read a book about a young single and dumb Spidey, there's the Ultimate book and the Marvel Adventure lines.

For the fans, it's all about how the WWE announcers make their perception of him. All they have to say is that he's Chris Harris, he's a very talented tag team wrestler and he's getting his big shot in the WWE. If they give him some promo time, he gets some charisma and gives a good effort in his matches he'll be fine. I know that a lot of the WWE audience isn't smarky, but I'm sure a number of the google new guys when they debut and find out that they had prior careers.

For some reason, I just can't get into Helios/Ricochet too much. -

I'm definitely hitting this up on at least Sunday and Saturday. I could see them having the tournament end with a Hero team vs. a Claudio team to further their feud for some reason... -
During House of M, Wolverine was the first person to realize that reality had been messed with.
