I always thought that BRUJO was This Thread Is Ghey, for whatever reason.

Surely "Hello Goodbye" or "The Long and Winding Road" would top that.

My girlfriend's last name is Ruth, and they have no information on it. I'm guessing that it's of German ancestry, and that it's mostly a legacy of eating hot dogs and pointing at shit in the distance.

Wasn't there supposedly the possibility that the baby was fathered by Lil Romeo or someone like that? That bastard come out white or what?

The best Beatles song is "A Day in the Life." My favorite is probably something a little more low key. Despite the John Denver association, I probably find "Mother Nature's Son" to be as satisfying and fully-realized as anything they ever did. I was really hoping that that dreadlocked idiot would do it on "American Idol" earlier this year, but no go.

You actually have to type your last name into the URL in order for it to work.

Sounds like someone could use a bit of inspiration in the form of some deranged yelling followed by some pathetic whimpering. Anything is possible, Dama. And for what it's worth, I think the waif look would look cute on you, even if you are a honky.

Much Mother Fucking Wicked Clown Love, obv. -
It helps to read a lot of reviews and articles on music. If you like artist A, reviews will invariably bring up comparisons to artists B, C, and D, who you can then explore. The internet is an amazing tool in this regard, as there are countless sites where you can read about music, and then you can go elsewhere to either sample or steal the music you're curious about. Pre-internet, you'd frequently have to buy things with only a very foggy notion as to what they would sound like. But, yeah, recommendations from people whose taste you trust, websites, magazines, etc. are the key to finding out about all of this stuff.

Surname: Gregory Recorded in over two hundred spelling forms and recorded in every European country is of Ancient Greek origins. Popular before the Christian era, it derives from "gregorien", a word meaning to be awake or watchful. The name was borne by two fathers of the Orthodox Church. The first being St. Gregory of Nazianzene (circa 325-390) and the second St. Gregory of Nyssa (circa 331-395). However its initial burst of popularity owed most to St. Gregory, The Great, the first Pope of all., 590 - 604 a.d. The famous Crusades of the 11th and 12th century gave it another boost. It was the fashion and practice, for returning warriors from the Holy Land to christen their children with biblical or saintly names, particularly those associated with the early church. This was one of the most popular and the popularity is reflected in the wide range of the surnames. These include Gregory, Greggs, Griggs, Grix (English), Grigor (Scots), Gligori (Italian), Gruger (German) and Hrinchenko of te Ukraine! The earliest of all recordings however are to be found in England, the first country to adopt both hereditary surnames and registers. Examples include John Grigory, in the Assize Rolls of the county of Somerset for the year 1280, and Joachim Gregorii, an attorney, of Magdeburg, Germany, in 1557. The first recorded spelling of the family name anywhere in the world, is believed to be that of Willelmus Gregorii, in the charters known as "The Danelaw" for the county of Lincoln, England, in the year 1143. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

Here's a touching poem taken from one of the ICP boards that I frequent. It's called A Juggalo Needs a Huggalo: A Juggalette at birth Now she's gone from this Earth Even six feet under ground She's still down with the clown The only thing I regret Is she won't take her first step The only thing I'd want Is for her to smoke her first blunt Or suck her first dick Or turn her first trick Cause bitches ain't shit But little Lotus was beautiful God had to take her so we got to be dutiful The only thing I ask is when you see another Juggalo Don't be afraid to grab 'em, son, give 'em a Huggalo Cause you ain't guaranteed nothing, just ask Lotus She wasn't nothing but a baby, but there's so much that she showed us. -
They sell for somewhere in the area of $3.50 a pack here, which is at the high end of what I'm willing to pay for cigarettes. Things like Newports and Marlboros are generally a little more than $4. My recent gas station experience has revealed to me that many of the same people who feel the need to blow $4+ for a pack of Newports are willing to get no more than $2.00 in gas, which is basically enough to get you down to the nearest stoplight and back.

It is very much like that. After a few go-rounds, it's pretty much all water and no shit. I've done much of my deepest soul-searching in close proximity to a toilet bowl, now that I think about it.

I had a pretty violent bout of food poisoning a few years ago after eating some nachos at a bar. Beyond that, all of my vomiting episodes in the last decade have been due to heavy drinking, and I'm typically far enough gone by that point that it doesn't bother me. It's much more common for my body to expel unacceptable foods through endless torrents of watery shit.

Ever felt like you just can't get the right job?
Kinetic replied to Damaramu's topic in General Chat
I just got a job in a convenience store the other day. I'm a little concerned about getting shot over $80 and some Black & Milds, but whatever. A man has to make a living somehow. -
A pack of First Class will run you about $2.35 'round these parts. These are generics, but are indistinguishable from Basics, which had been my brand for years prior to my descent into poverty.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

After two or three of the most hellish weeks of my life, during which I tore my apartment apart several times looking for anything even remotely pornographic, I now have internet access again. What did I miss? -
So tonight's game went more or less according to script. San Antonio still has to win Game 4 to make a series of this.

He does in the Director's Cut Special Edition Extra Slice version of American Pie 2. Twice the eyebrows, twice the 3 Doors Down, and twice the pie fucking, now for only $6.99 at Wal-Mart. As for #3:

Having never eaten this burger, I have to admit to being somewhat skeptical. Burger King doesn't have dehyrdrated onions, do they? Along with the sauce, those are really the most integral part of the Big Mac experience.

Oh, I refuse to buy name brand soda at the supermarket. I see no sense in paying a dollar more for a product that's only marginally better. A 2 liter bottle of Big K is, like, 45 cents at Kroger and it gets the job done just fine. I've lamentably been unable to find a passable knockoff of my favorite soda, North Carolina's legendary Cheerwine.

According to its Wikipedia entry, Pibb Xtra contains cinnamon and cherry flavors not found in Mr. Pibb. It also mentions that Pibb Xtra is virtually unheard of in the Northeast. How could this be?

The Big N Tasty is suspiciously similar to the Whopper, although not as good. I do like the Big N Tasty quite a bit and would eat it regularly when I worked at McDonald's, but it isn't half the sandwich that its predecessor, the Big Xtra, was. They discontinued the Big Xtra shortly after I began my stint there. I was born too late. Is there any sort of difference between Mr. Pibb and Pibb Xtra, or was that just a cosmetic change?

Yeesh. Terrible game for the Spurs tonight. They obviously can't win the series without getting something from Ginobili, and I'm not sure that he's capable of stepping up right now.
