  1. By the way, the unnamed guy that wrestled Elix Skipper is none other than "The Next" Alex Shelley.

  3. Hero/Cannon was great, but the 6/19 match was better. Nothing yet announced for Lafayette or Highland this month.
  4. I don't want to give away too much about the announcement for Thursday, but I thought this would be the first two-nighter in OAOAST history?
  5. From Colt Cabana's website: Eh, he's been sports-entertainmentized, so it's not that big of a loss personally. But, I'm sure there's more than one person who'll be willing to be personally effected by Cabana leaving IWA.
  6. Personally, having seen the show on both tape and in person, I personally disagree with Aries/Red and Hero/Kingston being rated so low. Aries/Red wasn't that great, but I didn't think it was down as low as you did. Hero/Kingston was absolutely great, in my opinion. Kingston's excellent rudoness, plus his working over Hero's back, Hero's excellent (as usual) selling, and his comeback totally made the match for me. I thought Kingston was just being methodical to keep with the story that he's packing on more pounds than the usual-cardioriffic Hero and therefore would have to keep Chris at his pace rather than pick things up. Oh, and the Davis/Morat match was one of the funnest debuts a guy has had in IWA Mid-South in a long, long time. Only in Indiana can a man named "The Turkish Delight" come in and make a big impact.
  7. To both answer #1 and have to copy and paste from the other KOTDM thread... - The stars of the weekend, in terms of coming out of nowhere and blowing up, were Tank and Toby Klein. Klein/Necro from Night One was one of the best deathmatches I've ever seen. They basically did what every deathmatch should be, and that's beating the crap out of the other guy with whatever you can, however you can, instead of "You stand here, I stab you...I stand here, you staple me" crap. Some of Necro's punches looked more harsh than any weapon shot. - As for Tank, let me just say that he went from a tiny respect applause on Night One to a standing ovation and "Please Come Back" chant at the end of his semi-final match. - I don't know what it was, but Ray Gordy disappointed me greatly. I expected him to break out as the new pure wrestling star in IWA this weekend, but I personally thought he almost looked like he didn't fit in, which is weird since he works mostly the same style that fits in with the IWA crew in Wildside and he's amazing there. - Sydal and Delirious had two really great matches this weekend. I really dug their tag match with Daniels and Whitmer, but their singles match on Night Two might be tied with their 2/3 Falls match in Highland in March for their best match against each other ever. The match, like the Aries match in Lafayette, was based around Matt's wrist injury, as Delirious worked over it the entire match. They also brought the shades of familiarity, as they knew what stuff of each other's to reverse, and Sydal even broke out Delirious's Shadows Over Hell backsplash move. The finish was really smartly done, as Sydal flipped out of the Chemical Imbalance #2 (reverse pumphandle Storm Cradle Driver), but hurt his wrist by keeping ahold of Delirious's hands when flipping, and fell prey to the CI#2 once again for the loss. - Ryan Boz + my Hulk Hogan lunchbox = hilarity ensues. Oh, he also beat the hell out of Smokey C. in the first round. It was some brutal stuff. Total squash match. - Corp. vs. Klein was a really good way to end off KOTDM. The lighttube stuff in the ring was sick enough, but Corporal going through the Light Tube Mansion was the single most amazing bump I've ever seen in person. I thought it should have been the finish myself, but I'm not going to complain when the guys murdered themselves this badly. For deathmatch fans, this is your stuff right here. I have yet to see the 2003 KOTDM, but I heard from people at the show that Necro/Klein and Corp./Klein was better than almost everything last year, but the rest of the weekend was slightly below 2003. Either way, I loved it. As for #2, they said at the show that SMV would have it by the end of the week.
  8. I'll end up writing something more in-depth later on, but here's some brief stuff... - The stars of the weekend, in terms of coming out of nowhere and blowing up, were Tank and Toby Klein. 9. Nah, I don't think there will be.
  10. Question: does anyone have an up-to-date Stat update?
  11. A huge announcement about the format of the July PPV, and...yeah.
  12. Hey, in about an hour and change, I'll start posting the results that the guy who's getting them phoned to him sends me on AIM.
  13. I don't want to go into details because of how much stuff they want getting out, but I heard Ace's original mystery opponent no-showed.
  14. I do NOT lick Prazak's stamps. I simply moisten the package sticker thingys.
  15. Totally out of order, and just typing what comes to me... Hero/Cannon was my MOTN. I think it's a tie between this match and the Euro Rounds match for the best Hero/Cannon match. I really enjoyed Hero's armwork in this match way more in comparision to the Punk match, and Cannon broke out some wacky-as-hell (and cool) cravate variation submissions as well. The "Let's Go..." chants did seem kind of forced after a while. On the opposite, I thought Abby/Pondo was horrible. I didn't expect anything, and I got about as much as I expected; just a bunch of walking around and stabbing each other with sharp stuff. I thought Webb/Ito was really fun for a weapons-style brawl. Nate's entrance this time included him coming out with a camera and filming everyone in the building, including gimmick table citizens Madman Pondo and MsChif. Nate looked sharper here than he has in forever, which I think might have been motivated by the fact that the show was being taped for Japanese television or release or something. I wish the Wildcards had better opponents. Chandler McClure wasn't too bad, but that "Male Cheerleader" dude kept botching stuff up until an admittedly cool powerslam/reverse DDT variation thingy double-team move. Plus, I would rather not see a skinny dude in small tights grinding around and such. At least McClure didn't bring his damn whistle he kept blowing at We Are Family. If they dropped the stupid gimmicks, I might be more willing to like the All-Stars. The Wildcards, on the other hand, ruled as always with their rudo antics, which now include Eddie Kingston doing ring announcing. The one thing that does suck is that the Wildcards are so awesome and funny with their heel stuff that not that many people are willing to boo them, which makes it less fun, imo. My theory with MsChif, after seeing her Gateway stuff, is that she's good against women, but it's almost like she gels a lot better with guys (not being carried by guys, but just works better with them). I'm kind of saddened to see them turn MsChif completely face, but not surprised since she's probably the most over woman, with the exception of maybe Mickie Knuckles from time to time, in IWA Mid-South. Chris Sabin looked sharper in his match with Delirious than I've seen him look in a long while. To me, it seemed like a high-impact fest, but everything got hit crisply and there was some amazing moves being nailed dead-on (like Sabin's slam into a powerbomb). Flo/Trik was murder, as expected. They started out working the story that Trik would do anything and everything to avoid the chops that killed him last time, but Flo just started butchering him after a while. The spot where Cash tossed Trik from electric chair position crotch-first into the ringpost was ungodly sick. The DQ finish was kind of weird, because Cash just got DQ'd for refusing to pin Trik. I actually really enjoyed the Tag Title match, after not expecting it to be too great going in due to all four guys being heels and the fact that BJ Whitmer is a robot. Daniels worked as a tweener pointing towards his obviously eventual face turn, and was the guy-in-peril here. At one point in the match, there's an especially sick forearm sequence between Bradley and Whitmer. Ace/Jacobs was good, but I've seen better Ace Steel matches. I think it's the combination of the Berserker gimmick getting really tired and the fact that Alex Shelley's continual improvement that makes Jimmy Jacobs more unlikeable to me as the weeks go on. He still bumps like a demon, but he's too consumed in the gimmick, in my opinion. The main event was disappointing, as I expected Petey/Shelley to be MOTN. It was good, but way too much Zach Gowan bs interference and stalling by Shelley for my liking. They did a tremendous job with Shelley doing everything possible to get away from the Sharpshooter and the Canadian Destroyer. I just hope for a rematch without Zach Gowan, canes, and Shelley leaving the ring every thirty seconds for stalling. Overall, there's been better Highland shows, but IWA Highland shows are still better than a lot of stuff that everyone else puts out.
  16. Uh oh, she stole Feinstein's boyfriend...
  17. I was just speculating, since YNA said his opponent isn't one of the announced guys on the card and Ian and Hero have both said that they want Doug Williams in IWA.
  18. I'm crossing my fingers for a hopeful battle of NOAH partners between Ace and the debuting Doug Williams, but eh, it's only a dream... Sabin/Delirious/Jacobs...well, I don't like three-ways, and I dislike Sabin's in-ring work. I'm hoping that Delirious and Jacobs keep it interesting.
  19. Six-Man Tag Match: The Thrillogy vs. Sly Sommers, Crystal, and Northstar
  20. I doubt it. It'll prolly run until about midnight. The tag tournament only ran until 11:50, and look how loaded that show was.
