Go ahead and do it. Popick's idea sounds good Calvin. Unless there's somebody in the I-5 who hasn't had a match with you yet. In case you don't know, you can now fight anybody in the I-5 no matter where they're rank as the NA champ is the #1 contender. Or you could do a promo surround by hot chicks at a swimming pool acting like a major a-hole since you keep finding ways to retain your title. BTW, everybody send their stuff to Tony149. Have everything to me by Monday night.

The plan WAS to blow off Flair/Perfect at WM 9 I believe. But that got moved up when McMahon & Flair agreed to part ways -- and Flair had a no compete clause. That's why WCW created "A Flair For The Gold," to give him something to do till the clause expired. IIRC, Flair had no problems staying in the WWF until Vince wanted to remove him from the WWF title picture into the IC title chase. Kinda like the way Jim Herd thought Flair was done main eventing. Oddly enough, if what I read is true, Bill Watts was the one who cut the deal to bring Flair back, but as we all know Watts resigned before Superbrawl III. (Flair's WCW return) Very good fantasy booking. If Flair & Hart met at WM XI, Flair probably would of played the "Luger" role at the debut of Nitro, assuming (most likely) Flair had the no compete clause.

That's what I'd like to see moved to next week. Like I said in my previous post, this show needs to be a home run.
-
I wouldn't mind writing that match above if that's possible. Just tell me who the ? man is. I could post the show too. As of right now I have no plans for Tuesday so I might be able to post it. PRL, you kinda have a lot of stuff you'd like to do. I know you have a TON of ideas but do you think you could hold the Rodiguez/jobber match the following week? I helped Eskimo create the tourny idea, so I want this show star-studded. I'm shootin' for a PPV feel for this IZ. I hope you guys bring your A-game. And you all have shown in the past you have the ability to bring the house down.

Nice show considering it was on the verge of hardly having any content just a few days ago. And I'm not back. I didn't have a problem with Popick using my character since it was a one-time deal.

I'm with you on both counts. We saw them pass over open shots many times in the playoffs last year. For whatever reason the role players seem to buckle when they're open. That's where Stephen Jackson is missed, but it's his agents fault he isn't here. A win tomorrow over LA would be a big boost to them. By no means is it a must win, but beating a team like LA would do a lot for a team still trying to find themselves.

Bale To Be The New Batman; Caine To Be Alfred
Tony149 replied to MrRant's topic in Television & Film
I wouldn't be surprise at all if that happens. I read an article a few weeks back saying LTK was gaining a cult-like following. Since we're speaking of Bond, there's a connection to him and Batman, as Lindy Hemming, who has done the costumes for all the Bond films since GoldenEye, will be working on Batman. From what has been reported, the rubber bodysuit is out. -
Bale To Be The New Batman; Caine To Be Alfred

DC has given Nolan's film its blessings. Batman screenwriter David Goyer mentioned him and Nolan have talked with DC about what they're doing (and they didn't have to), and has also mentioned they kept strings tight on faithfulness to the character. And I agree with you Zsasz, LTK is the true bastard step-child of the Bond films. The first scene after GE's pre-title credits says "9 Years Later"; those 9 yrs before hit in 1987, Dalton's (first) years. Which is kinda funny because Brosnan was so close to the role in '87 and would of met the same fate Dalton did from 1990-1995 due to the legal war. Maybe it was a little wink to the fans, but considering they never did that to any other Bond makes you think they want people to forget it. I happened to like LTK but I understand why others don't. -
They'd need to make 'em though. Bowen, who is their 2 pt. specialist, is struggling from the outside. Manu & Parker can make them but when they're cold they're real cold. Horry needs to start shooting it up more as well. I agree with you on the free throws. But we've been saying that for years now. It's kinda funny though, the Spurs are 9-9 but most Spurs fans have don't have a problem with it because of their history of starting off real slow (10-7 last year). Oh, and the Duncan suspension was BS. The ref was totally out of position. What a BS call from the NBA. I wonder how the NBA would of reacted if that happened to one of their "golden boys".

Bale To Be The New Batman; Caine To Be Alfred
Tony149 replied to MrRant's topic in Television & Film
It isn't. It's just going to be Chris Nolan's Batman film. Speaking of the Bond approach, Batman has so many good villians that you could probably continue a franchise for 10 or more films like Bond. The quality of the scripts would have a major in that but it could be done. -
Bale To Be The New Batman; Caine To Be Alfred

Age has gone out of the window with the casting of Michael Caine as Alfred, Caine is like 70 or late 60s. Batman-on-film.com (a damn good site) said Eastwood would be up for Commissioner Gordon. Apparently WB would like Clint to play a character ("Dirty" Harry, westerns, etc) fans know him best for, so him as Gordon would make him a cop ("Dirty" Harry) again. It is just a rumor. And the new film supposedly isn't going to scream restart, but will take the GoldenEye approach -- it wouldn't be a sequel or a restart, just a Batman movie. For those who don't know what the GE approach is: the James Bond franchise disappeared after 1989 "Licence to Kill" due to legal battles and when the franchise returned in 1995 it was like business as usual. Bond films aren't sequels (although they could of done it with Diamonds Are Forever, as a follow up to OHMSS), just stand-alone films. -
Austin always claimed he was too busy with the WWF to do his own series, but I think he probably wonders what could of been. Plus he was on the verge of going under the knife -- if this is 1999 we're talking about. As for Foley, I could of seen a movie based on his life, book, whatever; not a cop show. I would give it a shot though.

It wouldn't be the first time a match/promo, etc., has been edited into a show a number of people have already read. Don't worry about. It happens. When the match is edited in, it can be shown again on HeldDOWN just so it can be re-read again. The hD! crew could say it's a preview of what fans would see on a OAOAST PPV event.
-
It could be edited in if that's what you'd like. Ask Stephen Joseph, Zack or Chuck to edited in, if they have the match.
-
If you sent it your match, sorry it didn't make the show. Now I wish I hadn't move the show. Maybe you can some with an idea explaining why the match didn't take place and use it on the show you're on this week. Last month the show was moved without my permission, but it turned out fine. We do it again this month, not so fine. Again, sorry that it appears like your match was left off. Lesson: Never give in to peer-pressure.
-
The show is up at OAOAST Home Entertainment. And by skimming through the show, it looks like a good one. LPYC outdid himself with the graphics. Those were awesome! Our best yet. Next month's PPV is on December 28th -- Bloody, Battered & Beaten. More info coming later this week.
-
True, but I've done the samething in the past and ended up needing those spaces. I'll go ahead and post the show. I've said this before and I'll say it again: "Always give in to peer-pressure."
-
I checked the thread, and while it looks finished, Popick left some emtpy spaces right smack in the middle of the show. So I'm thinking he might have something else to add before he's ready to move.

Bale To Be The New Batman; Caine To Be Alfred
Tony149 replied to MrRant's topic in Television & Film
Yes. Michael Gough is somewhere between 85-87 years old. I believe he's 85 though. -
Thanks for posting the info. I only need 4 Bond films (FRWL, TB, YOLT, DAF) to complete my collection and I knew 3 of the 4 were in the same set and my Moonraker DVD doesn't have its inserts (got it off ebay), Vol. 2 looks like a "must buy" for me.
-
In 2005, yes. From what I've read, the first 6 or 7 films will be getting their soundtracks remastered. BTW, Mr. Zsasz, since you own the set, what DVDs are in Vol. 2?
-
Re-read my post, I said Sr. has been long dead and Jim Jr. (Crockett Jr. as I called him) supposedly lives in Dallas running a car dealership.
-
I'm pretty sure Crockett is dead. Don't take my word on it. Jim Crockett Sr. has been long dead, 2003 marks the 30th anniversary of his death I believe. I've read Crockett Jr. lives in Dallas, TX and runs a car dealership; brother David is alive as well. I've always wonder how Crockett's NWA would of done if they had the machine Vince did.

I have that Nitro on tape and assume what's blurred is any reference to the WWF and/or stratch logo.
