Pyro SHOOTS off from the ring posts and lighting structure above the ring. The camera PANS across the sold out arena, fans yelling, screaming, holding up their homemade signs -- PUERTO RICO WOMEN GET FAT AFTER 30, HELDDOWN OFFERS FREE TICKETS, DAN BLACK + IZ = SELF-PLEASURING, STEPHEN JOSEPH IS THE GREATEST WRESTLER EVER ::sign held up by Stephen Joseph::!! Everything about the show has changed; broadcast commentators, set, logo, etc. IZ has a whole new life to it. The set is very old school. Now just an IZ banner hanging above the black curtain the wrestlers emerge from. The guard rails are closer to the entrance, allowing up close and personal view of the wrestlers coming to the ring. Silver ropes, black ring posts, black turnbuckles with the OAOAST logo on them, "IZ" logo on the black ring aprons. Dan Black himself must have chosen the colors. At ringside, dressed in a TUXEDO for this very secial night, is JIM ROSS, the voice of the OAOAST since its debut in April 2002. JR Welcome to the season premiere of IZ. I'm your host Jim Ross. Folks, despite what that ego-manic Dan Black did last week, everybody apart of IZ is excited about the opportunity to bring you, hopefully something unique than you've ever seen on OAOAST television programming. IZ has been totally revamped by the man in black himself, Dan Black. He may be an asshole, but he's an asshole willing to do anything it tales to get IZ all over the papers. Tonight is the first round of the Intense 5 ranking system. There will be 4 Intense 5 matches taking place tonight -- Naz Mistry vs. The Shuffle, G-Money vs. K-Ness, Blurricane vs. Jailbait, JINGUS vs. Vitamin X and Puerto Rico Lightling vs. Shooter Jay, the winner of the North American championship match will advance into the next round along with the other 4 men who win their matches. The winners of those matches will compete next week in a 5-Way elimination match. The first person who's eliminated first, by pinfall, submission, countout or DQ will be ranked number 5. Whoever is eliminated next will be fourth, etc. And of course, the survivor -- and whoever wins will be a survivor -- will be ranked first, earning a shot at the OAOAST championship. Fans, as I said earlier, everybody on IZ is incredibily excited about tonights program. We hope you'll enjoy it as well. It's a new season, so let's go to the ring for our first match.
-
Yes, only JR, who's sitting ringside. Jesse & JR will be used on PPVs, but only JR for IZ.
-
Since I'm helping out with this weeks show, can you write a promo discussing "the Intense 5" concept?
-
It was Simmons/Luger at Halloween Havoc '91. During Watts' run the ramp was dropped for non-PPVs (Clash of the Champions), was that his doing? I'm a mark for the ramp; I remember being disappointed seeing the June & December (Sept. was done at Center Stage so its understandable why it wasn't used there) Clashes without the ramp.

IIRC, she was a stripper.

Overall it was a good show. I thought the formatting of the show could of been crisper. Don't get me wrong, BPP, I did you did a fine job -- but towards the end of the show the "tied up" commentary appeared (Cole: This is what I'm talking about. Coach: See how this jams the commentary together, making it hard to read?) I know a lot of the guys use that, but it -- at least for me -- gets hard to read.

IZ and floating champions, try to make this show a good one, Eskimo has put alot of effort into making IZ something special again. Next week's show is supposed to be special, so write like it is. IMO, next week the show COULD be the best IZ ever depending on the writing quality.
-
Since I enjoy your character, I liked the way the show was this week. Next week's show should be very interesting due to the new look it'll be getting. Looking forward to it. We'll need to see a finished logo by Monday. BTW, Jesse is gone from IZ but he'll remain on the IZ PPV announce team because the PPVs are a OAOAST Production, not an IZ show.

The costume is horrible. The plot is horrible. The new character name is horrible. The movie is going to bomb. This film will have bad reviews from critics and fans alike (and its already started). This is why the real Catwoman (Selina Kyle) can't appear in a Batman movie. After this, Berry is supposed to start filimg JINX (Yes, here Die Another Day character). At least the Batman franchise is in good hands will Nolan.

It been nearly 2 years since I've given predictions (NFL -- and I did good too, pretty sure I was either 1 or 2)) on the forum, but I think I'll give it another shot. A's over Red Sox in 5 Yankees over Twins in 4 Braves over Cubs in 4 Giants over Marlins in 4 ALCS Yankees over As in 6 NLCS Giants over Braves in 6 World Series Yankees over Giants in 6 Those are my picks but I'd like to see the Cubs win the World Series against the Yankees or Red Sox, doesn't matter, after beating the Marlins (shock value -- NL's big boys go down) in the NLCS. Hell, I guess I wouldn't mind if the Marlins won. They'd probably blow up the team again, but I'd get a kick out of seeing them win it.

Don't forget the first Austin Powers movie didn't do much at the box office, but home video sells made the bulk of the money, spawing two sequels with a fourth on the way. So its way too early to judge Rock's success.

Hurray for IZ! And mucho props to Eskimo. NITRO had its 88 week streak. RAW then went on to crush that record (I think they went over 100 until the last Nitro). Will ratings history repeat itself? Only time will time. I'm with you Caboose, Eskimo has put alot of effort into making IZ respectable again. I'm sure in the upcoming weeks he'll continue to put his best effort into making the show something special.

No, CWM had the shortest title reign, and he didn't have a successful PPV defense. It's funny, because everyone refers to ALFDOGG as the worst champ, but he held it from late July to September, with a PPV defense and strong showings otherwise. CWM, on the other hand, lost to Anglesault in October and set up the LAME~! aWo reunion. So CWM is the TRUE OAOAST transitional champion! True to an extent. The reason Alfdogg gets credited as transitional champ is because the belt was supposed to go from Caboose to CWM, but Caboose "left" and the belt was hotshotted to Alf (whom suggested himself as new champ, lol). So while CWM does hold the shortest title regin in OAOAST history, Alf gets to live in infamy as the original transitional champion.

That's an excellent way to describe it. When I became apart of the OAOAST back in May 2002, it was as the "head booker". At that point the guys were starting to set up shows, so I decided to help decide who won and loss. We quickly found out that didn't work for us. Complaints over the direction of the OAOAST occured; I wasn't doing what I was supposed to do -- decide who won or loss -- I left that up to two other "bookers" and the roster themselves. All the problems were basically due to everybody being new to an e-fed. The OAOAST was never intended to be an e-fed, it just happened. Long story, short. We ended up going with the description LPYC wrote in late 2002. Since then everything has ran smooth once again. All references to "bookers" were dropped. The real bookers are the people involved in a feud. We have "Producers" whose job is to let everyone know when matches/promos are due for our Tuesday (Intense Zone) & Thursday (HeldDOWN) shows; and to post the show.

I like it that way. IMO it keeps the format from becoming too predictable, like the way the "15 minute promo" on RAW became for so many years. But like Bps said, it can become messy. While I would like to see the Jarretts and Russo on the same page, it helps that they aren't kissing each others asses or scared about speaking their mind.
-
Yes. While they might not like each other, they should be able to suck it up for a while. Russo even said the one man in the wrestling business he can't stand is Goldberg. And that says alot concerning some of the people Russo has problems with. And I'm with Dames on this one. I don't like the idea of Hogan coming back, but it would most likely give TNA some more attention. Short-term could be a wild ride, but this could pay off long-term.

As the Co-Executive Producer (Caboose is/was the other) of the AAs, I'm not sure if we'll do another. It's a bitch to put together and requires alot of time -- well it did for me as I wrote almost everything on the show with the exception of award speeches and some stuff AS did. If we got more people to help out, I'm sure we could do another. But IF we did decide to put another together, this is something that needs to be planned (2-3) months in advance, so we outline the show and send out voting ballots, etc.
-
Unless I missed something, we don't know who will make TNA's game yet. But if it somehow ends up being Acclaim the best you can hope for, is for them to create something different than their rehashed WWF/ECW games. As good as AKI is, it doesn't mean another company can't do something equal or better, even Acclaim -- but they'd need to work harder.
-
The article said it was a "working title"; a majority of the time the working title is never the final name. So I wouldn't put too much stock into that name at this point. Intersting to see Hugh Dancy's name wasn't mentioned as one of the actors who tested for the role, I assume that means he wasn't able to shave the beard from the other project he was working on.
-
Bale, Bailey & Dancy stand out more than the rest. Dancy was said to be the frontrunner a few weeks ago, but I think Bale or Bailey will get the role instead. I think all three could be good, but I hope Bale gets the role. He's been a fan favorite as Batman for a long time.
-
Its not my fault. The people involved in the feud are responsible for their match. I don't babysit whoever is supposed to write a match. They know the deadline set to turn in their promos/matches. Knowing I had no match, I came up with an excuse I felt added heat between the two (bar room fight after a OAOAST house show). I even made it a point for Watts to stress all the matches that didn't take place will ASAP. I even gave the target date of this week's show (hD!) thinking whoever was writing the match will be able to turn it in for HeldDown.
-
I never received the match.
-
The opening (the BUM-BUM sound) sounds alot like a Tito Puente song. I know this because I heard it on one of those music channel DirecTV offers. I don't think the entire song is the same but some of it was.
-
Truthfully, I'm disappointed in that. I understand everybody has things to do but if for some reason one can't write the match, we should be told so we could find another solution. I tried to come up with some reasonable excuses by bringing Watts out and making those announcements. Personally, I thought they were pretty good. This was going to be the show were Watts announced his retirement from the OAOAST but I held off on it. I may keep him around (even if he's not used as much as before) for such events. I thought LPYC's graphics were well done. With SP leaving, LP will be getting most of the work done in the graphics department. While I'm biased because I wrote it -- the opening to the show was one of my favorites. I tried to capture Zack's title run (the longest in OAOAST history) while asking the question, "how much time does he have left". The original opening was more playful in the sense that it was a parody on political ads where it's nothing but bad mouthing. I rewrote the opening to what you saw on the show after I noticed Calvin's character becoming more serious. This event also marks the end of an era. For the first time in OAOAST history, somebody who doesn't have much contact with the OAOAST Mods is Champion. All past titleholders were either Mods or talked with Mods more than once.
-
I thought the show came off as good as can be despite some of the matches having to be dropped at the last minute. The main event was a shocker, though. Who would of thought.
