Inspired by the New Pornographers chat, the top five NP songs featuring Neko Case's lead vocals: 1. Mass Romantic 2. To Wild Homes 3. The Bleeding Heart Show 4. Letter From An Occupant 5. Hmm. I can't really think of any outside of those four that I'm nuts for. I suppose I could slot Bones Of An Idol in there, even though it's not really that great.

All For Swinging You Around is the only song I've heard from Electric Version. The vocals and melody are both a bit too annoyingly chirpy for my tastes. Not one of their stronger songs.

I haven't heard Electric Version, but I don't consider Mass Romantic to be much more than half good, either. The title tracks from the two albums I have heard are both magnificent, and the best songs of either bunch.

I like Falling Through Your Clothes more than Star Bodies, but otherwise, your assessment of Twin Cinema is spot on.

A health teacher had a stroke that completely obliterated her hearing and sight, and left her paralyzed. Amazingly, she still taught for a good three years afterwards. Students would smoke pot in her class and whatnot, and she was never the wiser. Finally, they got her an aide to help her out, and then realized that they could just fire the cripple and have the aide teach the class. The fact that the teacher didn't resign immediately, or they didn't come to this decision earlier, boggles my mind, but hey, Kansas schools.
