OK, I have to get something off my chest that's been building for a while now since it seems two people this week didn't bother to submit picks. What is so freaking hard about taking 20 seconds out of a week and naming a dozen or so teams off the top of your head? I know many of us have busy schedules, but Jesus this isn't like raising a kid, going to school or having a full-time job. I wanted to do this kind of contest because I thought it would be interesting to see how each of us would fare over a 16-game season, but I see this kind of "commitment" seems to be hard for some people. It's just so lame to have to use my picks for an additional team or two every week, and I don't think it's fair to the people that have been doing this week in and week out. Ironically, the most loyal participants in this contest have some of the worst records. Heck, even a BANNED POSTER has been able to e-mail me every week with his picks (tiebreaker scores are another story). OK, I'm over my period. Come on Bengal pickers, you deserve your day in the sun...

In my world I would execute stupid customers, but sadly this isn't my world. Whenever I had to wait on some ghetto folk -- and having worked at places which were right next to city bus stops you KNEW when a public transportation vehicle recently dropped off a bunch of products from the under-class. All you can really do when you have a moron in front of you at work is just zone out, let them do their thing, laugh at them when you're in the break room and thank your lucky stars you are not them. And for the record, with all the talk of blacks being bad tippers/etc., I must say the WORST type of customer is vanilla white trash...

Cool, I guess I'm a racist, too. When I worked customer/food service there was an disproportionate number of black customers that I wanted to hit in the face with a shovel. I got a complaint lodged against me one time because I told a black woman with three kids running around like NEANDRATHALS and banging on a glass display if she could make them stop doing that. There are a number of other instances that I can recall when dealing with blacks, but I'm too lazy to type them (there's the time I got another complaint because I told this black couple that our nacho machine was closed down for the evening -- another oldie but goldie)...

Don't forget Ty Cobb. He'd make John Rocker look like an alter boy. Can't even imagine what Linda Cohn would do in describing the anti's- when talking about good ol' Ty...

That's what San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds has told the Major League Baseball Players Association's licensing arm. Bonds informed the union that he would not be signing the organization's group licensing agreement next year and would instead pursue licensing opportunities on his own. Players usually sign the group licensing agreement, which allows companies that obtain MLBPA licenses the right to use players' names and likenesses on their products. In exchange for their rights, the players get a percentage of the sale of the products such as trading cards and video games. The signing of the agreement is usually a formality. In fact, Bonds will become the first union member in the 30-year history of the licensing program not to sign it, said Judy Heeter, director of business affairs and licensing for the MLBPA. Eric Levin, president of Pro Access Inc., which does the marketing for Bonds, declined comment. Bonds' decision will have immediate repercussions for baseball fans, who will no longer be able to purchase official Giants jerseys with the slugger's name on the back. Bonds can sell his licensing rights individually, but he will not be able to appear in MLBPA licensed products, including trading cards and video games. Heeter said Bonds can appear separately in card sets, if companies work out deals with him. "Barry, don't do this! Please, come back!" begged Bill Dully, president of Donruss trading cards. Dully says Bonds' decision not to participate in the group licensing agreement will make it very hard for card companies to capitalize on his closing in on the all-time home run crown. While Bonds is the first player to do this in baseball, the move is not unprecedented. Michael Jordan was not part of the NBA Players Association's group licensing agreement, and Washington Redskins linebacker Lavar Arrington has not signed the NFL Players Association's group licensing agreement. Heeter said she is not concerned that other MLB players will follow Bonds' lead. "I believe this situation is unique," said Heeter. "For the licensees, we provide them a one-stop shop for securing the rights to the players which would otherwise be impossible to obtain independently. For the players, we provide them with the personnel to market and protect their rights."
