Well I hate to keep up with the 80s-on streak but given my lack of knowledge of pre '85 stuff, I kind of have to... Anyways after much consideration, I've decided to pick a wrestler with more wasted potential than possibly anybody in the history of the industry. This man could have been truly one of all of the all time greats and a surefire first rounder in this draft. However, what we ended up with was one of the all time pretty damn goods and a man I feel perfectly confident picking as my second choice. Though his drug problems ended his career and his life all too prematurely, he was one of the greats of the '80s. A former NWA World Champion, WWF Intercontinental Champion, and a Modern Day Warrior. For the 33rd pick in the All Time Wrestling Roster Draft, I select Kerry Von Erich

I know...this thing is going to last for weeks perhaps even months. It'll be interesting to see the later rounds of this draft. "For my 28th pick, I select former WCW superstar, Rick Fuller..."

Finally Warrior gets picked. He gets shit on a lot by the IWC and was a mediocre wrestler at best but he certainly had the "it" factor even during his terrible WCW run.

I honestly didn't see Douglas going till the fourth or fifth round but I'd love to see a feud between Triple H circa '00 Vs Shane Douglas circa '95. I guess Shane would be a defacto babyface (if I were booking it, which I'm not) as the jilted ex big-timer facing off with Vince McMahon's future son-in-law.

Rock solid choice there, mellow. I was considering them to be my first tag team pick but unless everybody starts picking tag teams, I'm not going to pick a tag team until at least the third round.

My dad always bought us Wal-Mart brand soda because it was like half the price of Coke or Pepsi. You could get like a two liter for 79 cents and a twelve pack for $2 or something. Good ol' Dr. Thunder. Dr. Thunder wasn't quite as good as Dr. Pepper but for 35 cents at the vending machine, it did the job. Mountain Lightning on the other hand sucked. If you thought Mountain Dew was redneck nectar, imagine Wal Mart's Mountain Dew knockoff. Ye gods. The only other memory I have of Wal-Mart brand soda was buying a twelve pack of Wal Mart Root Beer for our camp and leaving it there during the winter and the cans bursting and leaving a huge mess in that fridge. Alright, I'm thinking Thursday Night 8 P.M. for this thing. I'm trying to find a torrent of Great American Bash '99 but I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Let me tell you something my friend. You can't find Mr. Pibb or Pibb Extra until you hit Connecticut and its apperances are sporadic until you hit the Beltway area. I make sure to grab a couple twelve packs on every vacation I take down south. There is one odd exception. I can get it at Regal Cinemas for some reason but with all of the new theaters with stadium seating, Pibb isn't enough to drive me there.

I haven't seen it since it happened but I vaguely remember liking the Chris Benoit/Jeff Jarrett ladder match. Then again, like with The Royal Rumble, I haven't seen a ladder match that I haven't at least kind of liked. But yeah Starrcade '99 was a terrible show. Again, something that hasn't been brought up enough IMO in this thread is how Russo killed the cruiserweight division during his first stint there. Even in the most dire times before, you could usually count on a good cruiserweight match. Not with Russo. It only semi-recovered during Chavo's run with the belt after Russo left and by then WCW was almost dead anyways.

Fun fact: Hydrox actually came out four years before Oreos. Sadly, they are no longer around. The world no longer needed second rate Oreos. The late Mello Yello and its little remembered offshoots.
